Chapter 4
A fresh day has started, well not really fresh. As from last night, it was raining heavily. Toshiji went to wake Ruhi up for school.
Toshi : Ruhi wake up dear. Don't you want to go school?
Ruhi buried her face in pillow and said : No dadi. Today I don't want to go school.
Toshiji smiled and caressed her hair lovingly and said : Dear, today is your last exam. Don't you want to give exam today? See!! Papa woke up early also, you know today papa will drop you and pick you up from school.
Ruhi turned at her saying : Really?
Toshiji nodded and lifted her in arm and headed to washroom, she made her ready for school.
Ruhi : Dadi, can I go to meet with Ishita aunty once?
Raman heard this and sternly said : Ruhi let's go. We are getting late.
Ruhi : But papa.
Raman looked at her in serious way saying : Ruhi..
Ruhi disappointingly looked down, Toshiji made her wear raincoat, she bid adieu to her.
Raman and Ruhi walled down. Raman said : Ruhi, you stay here, papa will bring the car here.
Raman left from there, Ruhi was standing there when she felt a tap on her shoulder, she turned back.
Ruhi : Ishita aunty.
She hugged her happily.
Ishita : What happen. Today you have school?
Ruhi : Today I have exam.
Ishita bend on her knees and kissed on her forehead saying : Best of luck.
Just then Ruhi saw Raman was coming, she said : Okay bye aunty. Papa has arrived.
Ishita smiled and made her sit inside the car and bid adieu.

It was around 1pm, Ishita had no appointment today, so she decided to go back to home early. It was raining heavily, Ishita was driving the car very carefully, she was remembering about Ruhi when suddenly she saw Ruhi standing. Though her vision was blurred to recognize the figure but still could figure it out. She pushed the break and saw Ruhi was standing near to her school, she was completely drenched and was shivering in cold. Ishita quickly walked down and went to her.
Ishita : Rooh!! What happen? Why are you standing here alone?
Ruhi : Ish... Ishita aunty.. Papa...
Before Ruhi could complete, Ishita said : Come!! With me!! I will drop you.
Ishita quickly dragged her and made her sit in the car.
After about 30 minute, Ishita reached at their society, she turned at Ruhi and saw her sleeping. She slowly shook her : Ruhi..
Ruhi slowly opened her eyes, Ishita said : See!! We have reached. Come.
Ishita went to her side and lifted her in her arms and climbed up the stairs. Ishita knocked on the door of Bhalla house. Toshiji opened the door and saw her.
Toshiji : What are you..
But before she could say her, she saw Ruhi in her arms. She said : Rooh.. My dear. What you have done with her?
Ishita : She was standing alone near to the school. May be!! Mr. Bhalla forgot to pick her up.
Toshiji : Oye!! Stop blaming my puttar. He know his duty very well. You mind your own business!!
Ishita : I'm not blaming anyone. Anyway!! Please dry her quickly, otherwise cold will catch her.
As Ishita said, Mrs. Bhalla took Ruhi from her and slammed the door on her face. Ishita was going to go back to her house when she saw Raman was coming hurriedly, she could sense, he was in worry, when he was going to pass her, she said : Don't worry Mr. Bhalla. Your daughter is safe.
Raman turned at her confused, she continued : If you ever promise to anyone then please keep your words, don't neglect.
Raman walked inside, Ishita too went in her house.

Bhalla house,
After freshen up, Ruhi was sleeping in her room when Raman went to her room and sat beside her, seeing him Ruhi turned her face another side.
Raman : Papa is sorry Ruhi.
But she didn't response to him, he called her while placing his hand on her arm : Rooh!!
Ruhi : Rooh won't talk with you. Rooh is angry.
Raman : Ruhi sorry beta. Papa was stuck in a meeting but I send Mihir chachu to pick you but he was far away from your school, so when he reached you already left the school. Sorry beta.
But still Ruhi didn't turn at him, he continued : Okay!! If Ruhi don't want to talk with me then I should leave, I will go back to Mumbai and will be back when Rooh will talk with me.
But still Raman didn't find any movement, so being failed, he was going to leave when he felt her soft touch, he turned and found her daughter in tears, she was holding his hand tightly.
Ruhi : No!! Rooh isn't angry on Papa. She will talk. Don't leave Ruhi.
Raman smiled and picked her in his arm saying : Okay. Papa won't leave Rooh but I need a compensation.
Ruhi : What?
Raman looked side way and pointed his cheek to kiss her, she kissed him happily. Raman too kissed her and hugged her.

At night,
Ishita was sleeping on her bed, she was coughing and sneezing badly when Mrs. Iyer walked in her room saying : Ishu!! Kanna. Have some medicine.
Ishita : I have take it. Don't worry.
Mrs. Iyer : Okay then. Take some rest.
After Mrs. Iyer left her room, she looked outside, it was raining heavily, she recalled Ruhi. She thought : Hope she is fine.

At the other side, I'm Bhalla house, Mrs. Bhalla was giving Ruhi sponging continuously, but he fever doesn't falling, Raman was restlessly pacing in the room and trying every doctors number but due to the bad weather some lines doesn't connected and those get connected, the doctors denied to come in this rainy night. Meanwhile, Mihir arrived.
Mihir : Bhai.. Did you get any doctor?
Raman replied worried : No. Mihir. Please do something yaar. I can't see my daughter in such pain.
Mihir made him sit on the sofa saying : Bhai please. Calm down. Our Ruhi is strong. Nothing will happen with her.
Mihir was wondering what to do when his eyes fall on the Iyers gate, he said : Bhai.. I have a doctor.
Raman replied hurriedly : Who? Give me the number.. I will beg to come here.
Mihir : Bhai.. She is here only.
Raman looked at him sarcastically when Mihir pointed his finger to the Iyer's door.
Raman : Have you lost your mind? I won't call her here.
Mihir : Bhai we have no option left. Look!! She already treat her before and moreover at this moment, no doctors are available. Please think about Ruhi.
Raman looked at her room where she was lying, he sighed.

Ishita was sleeping on her bed, still getting hard to sleep in fever when she heard doorbell, once.. Twice.. Thrice.. But she had no courage to get up when finally she heard the door opened.
Raman : Is Dr. Ishita there?
Mr. Iyer : Yes. What happen?
Raman : Actually Ruhi had high fever and at this moment, I am not getting other doctors...
Mrs. Iyer walked out from her room saying : But Ishita has fever..
Inside the room, when Ishita heard Ruhi's name, she couldn't resist herself, though she felt difficulty to get up but still she managed somehow and walked out saying : I am fine amma.
Mrs. Iyer : But Ishu!!
Ishita : Amma please... Let's go Mr. Bhalla...
Raman nodded and they walked in Bhalla house, Ishita went to Ruhi and checked her temperature. She said : It's good that you have gave her sponging. I have a medicine in my house, give her for now, it will help her to fall the fever. And also I am prescribing some medicines, please give them on time.
Raman : Sure...
Saying this, Ishita was going to left but being unwell, her feet stumbled and she was about to fall but Raman was standing near to her, so he supported him immediately. This was the first time, Raman felt how responsible she is, she didn't even care about her health and went to check his daughter.
Ishita : Thank you.
Raman : Are you alright?
Ishita nodded and she left, Raman followed her to her house, she gave him the medicine. Raman turned to leave but stopped and looked at her saying : You too have some medicine and take some rest.
Ishita smiled slightly and nodded.

Next day morning, as usual Ishita woke up early and finished her household works as well, she too was better than before. She was sitting in the hall when she heard some voice and looked at the direction where she found Raman was going out, she hurriedly came to her door asking : Excuse me??
Hearing her voice, Raman turned at her sarcastically, she continued : Umm!! Ruhi?? How's she??
Raman : She is fine. That medicine worked well.
Ishita smiled, though Raman felt awkward to ask, but still be wanted to ask so he did : By the way, how's your health?
For a second, Ishita was shocked, but she composed herself and replied : Yes, I am fine. Thank you.
They smiled slightly and left to their respective place.
Days started passing, now for a change, Raman never denied when Ruhi went to Ishita's place, she got attached with her. On a such day, Raman and Ishita both drive back to the society at the same time, Ishita parked the car and then found the kids of the society were playing badminton, or was winter night so kids were regularly played, sometimes elders joined them. Ishita smiled seeing Ruhi there. Finally, she parked her car and then heard a chaos, she saw Ruhi was fighting with Shravan. Ishita hurriedly ran to Ruhi.
Ishita : Ruhi.. Ruhi.. Leave him. Why are you two fighting? Shravu leave Ruhi.
Ruhi shouted : No Ishita aunty. I will kill him, why did he say so?
Ishita : What he said?
Ishita asked while separating them, meanwhile seeing them fighting Raman too arrived.
Ruhi : He says, girls can't play badminton.
Ishita glared at Shravu when Raman smiled and joined them saying : Yes. He said right. Girls can't play badminton. They only can play with dolls.
Ruhi glared at Raman saying : See Ishita aunty. Papa is also with him. All men are same.
Ishita : Don't say like this beta..
Ruhi : Ishita aunty.. Then show them we girls can play.
Ishita bend on her knees saying : No. Ruhi. Let them think what they want, you go another side and play with your friends.
Raman chuckled : See!! Boys.. She gets afraid.
This time, Ishita looked up at Raman and sighed, then she came to him asking : Really!! Do you think so?
Raman : Yes. Of course..
Ishita crossed her arms near to net chest and replied : I was saving you from getting insult. But I think you wanted to get insult, if it is so, then let's go!!
Raman : Over confidence?
Ishita rolled her eyes and handed him the racket and feather cock and ask : Serve first...
They went to their respective court, meanwhile girls started cheering Ishita and boys started cheering Raman, he showed them thumbs up, meanwhile Ishita neatly tied her dupatta around her waist.
Raman : Let's start then..
Ishita nodded, Raman served first, they played well when the shuttlecock fall on Raman's side, Ishita jumped in excitement. Ruhi and other girls also jumped whereas boys gets disappoint.
Ishita shouted : I told you not to mess with girls.
Raman rolled his eyes and served, they played, sometimes cock fall on Ishita's side and sometimes on Raman's side. They both enjoyed and the kids too. They two started behaving like a kid. Finally, the score came on equal.
Ruhi shouted : Ishita aunty you have to win...
Ishita smiled seeing her excitement, she served the ball towards Raman and they started playing, the boys started cheering him when Raman hit the ball with a force, Ishita watched that and started stepping backward to hit it, when the ball was reaching to her height, she stepped back to hit it when her feet fall on a hard rock and her ankle twisted but before that she already hit the ball. Ishita fall on the ground and her hand got scratch, as she fall, Raman forgot about the game, he ran to her.
Raman : Ishita.. Ishita.. Are you alright?
Though she had pain on her ankle, she chuckled : See!! I won..
Raman chuckled hearing her : Are you crazy?? You have twisted your ankle and all you still care about the game? You are acting like a kid..
Hearing him, she laughed thinking how silly she was behaving. Then she tried to get up which was next to impossible for her, getting failed to do, she gave up when Raman gently lifted her and made her sit on the nearby bench.
Ishita : Thank you.
Raman : Let me check first.
Saying this he was going to touch her feet but as it was paining badly, she didn't let him touch.
Raman : Yaar let me check.
She cried : No. It's paining.
That time Ruhi and Shravan came to them, Ruhi sat beside Ishita and held her hand asking : Is it hurting?
She was almost in tears, Raman was amazed seeing the bonding they share. They had no blood relation, but still they could feel the others pain.

Ishita wiped the tears which were forming from Ruhi's eyes and replied : No chotu. I am fine.
Ruhi kissed on her cheeks when Shravan said : Chitti.. I told you girls can't play. They always ended up hurting herself.
Raman laughed : Yes. You are right. By the way what's your name??
Shravan introduced himself and they started talking non sense about girls, finally not taking that anymore, Ishita started arguing with them. Meanwhile, getting a chance Raman twisted her ankle making her scream : Aiyyo amma!!! Have you lost your mind?? You have broke my ankle. Aiyyo...
Raman replied while getting up nervously : Stop your drama and shake your feet..
Ishita cried : No.. It will pain.
Raman said being adamant : Just do what I said...
Ishita, being a obedient student, shook her feet, she didn't feel any pain, she shook it and stand up and walked.
Raman : Is it hurting?
Ishita : No. Thank you. But.. You should have tell me. Why did you do it suddenly?
Raman sighed : You didn't let me touch your feet. So I have to do that.
Ishita nodded, just then her phone rang, she said : I have to go. Shravu come.
They left when Raman and Ruhi followed them. On the way, Raman said : By the way Dr. Ishita, you played quiet well.
Ishita smiled and then they went to their respective place.
