I don't if she will take a stand considering the history. They always end up with comedy or lollipop romance. They have never had a meaningful conversation. Almost never. Serious communication problems as you already know. They will bicker away but rarely address the elephant in the room. It took me very long to forget the incident after the fire. What he was about to do we all know. And its better i dont say anything about how it ended. More than Raman I was angry at Ishita for just letting it go. This time it's so needed. There has to be anger and hurt waiting to spill over. All the baggage I mean. I fail to understand how they can show a woman just getting over it. She needs to lash out for the viewer's sanity atleast. Lol
They have always made Raman commit bigger and graver kaands than Ishita. Why oh why?

I have loved these 2 hopelessly Krishy. At this point I don't know if I want them to get back together later cz they gave butchered their love. I think about it and all I wanna do is punch someone.

It's so hard as a viewer of this show because we attach emotions to these characters that don't come to play on screen. During the accident track it was hard, but even the fire scene played a purpose and at that stage in their relationship I could understand Ishita not getting angry.

But, during the dafa ho jao sequence of Sautan Sagas - We saw Raman yell & spew venom (very suddenly & unexpectedly also) while Ishita was silently suffering with her Sautan at home. Viewers saw how this hurt the self-respect of Ishita, but never in Ishita's self thoughts or follow up (which lacked) did they address this. Again this verbally violent fight happened before Vandu's delivery & even then, when they had a heart-to-heart...they didn't touch on how Ishita's self-respect was hurt by Raman.

I would really like to think she will take a stand this time.

And I ask, why did they not focus on these emotions and others that viewers picked up on? Were the makers obtuse to these emotions or did they realize that if they actually explored them...their story would break down? If it was the latter, then what do they think is happening now?

You aren't alone in being frustrated at what's happening (trust me and the many expletives that have run through my mind this week in reference to this show!)...🤗 for you!

I agree with you completely they never show any serious conversation it has always been that way but still can't bring myself to believe what they are doing to yhm. I guess it will take a little time for me get over ishra and yhm becauseit has been part of my life for almost two years.

Poignantly, but beautifully said! I'm both too sad and tired to add much else, but maybe later...

I think they mixed it up It was supposed to be Rishta naya soch wahi not the other way round. The mentally sick people.

I would like to think that too, but while we blame the makers - (not us) viewers also watch whatever is served. So they may never realize the extent of the damage to the integrity of the story they have done! 😔

Right now SP is such a hypocritical channel. And it's serving much of the same type of stuff.

Colors has 3ish shows that committed to sharing social issues, and from what I've seen/heard is that they have generally stuck to that premise.

Totally agree with you. Its hard see what is transpiring before our eyes.

I have no doubt in my mind that Ishra are very deeply in love but now we are seeing the cracks. Previously, they have both made mistakes because of their love for one another, primarily hiding problems etc all to prevent the other being hurt. What Raman has done from the moment he had the surrogacy agreement signed, has unfortunately been unforgivable for me. I did not like the fact that so soon after the miscarriage he was pressurising Ishita to agree to the surrogacy. He has become a man obsessed and no one not even his wife can stand in his way. He keeps saying the baby is for Ishita, I am no longer buying it. In fact, this baby is Raman and Shagun's third child.

The events over the last few days have not destroyed Ishra completely for me, but it has changed the way I look at their relationship. Many times we have heard various characters in the show commenting on Ishra's love/relationship as being an example of how a marriage should be. Yes, initially I could see why that was the case, but today, I am questioning whether their love is an example to aspire to or just flawed and unhealthy. Ishra love relationship will never be the same for me and I am certain after the separation they will get back together but for me their love is forever tarnished.

If Raman ends up in any type of relationship with Shagun I will be disgusted. I personally do not think this will go down well with TRP aunties. People can't relate to Shagun nor do they trust her intentions as we know just how manipulative she can be. Whilst watching a daytime repeat of YHM, my mother asked me 'how can someone's character change so much ... she can't be trusted'. TRP aunties will always favour Ishita over Shagun and that is not something BT or Star Plus can change. Whether they choose to ignore this and and make Anita a parallel lead (her being in every single episode) is obviously their decision.

I had just wished SP spent more time trying to improving their other shows rather than destroying one show that was bringing in reasonably good TRP's and money.

Sorry for any errors.

Beautiful comment.

I can't add anything else really except...

It really really hurts to see that to force a previously non-existent triangle down our throats, they were either going to down the cancer track or this ungodly surrogacy.

@bold - I love this perspective. They haven't killed the love, but they have destroyed the relationship. How ironic. Thank you for sharing that.

As for Raman's current actions - the set up for Ishita's distrust on him mirrors an extreme version of the accident track. But in that track, his reason for his majboori could be understand. Here he doesn't realize the scope of what he's doing but we as viewers can't understand why this is happening...and that's what's even worse to Raman's character - this is all senseless to force a triangle in the show.

I pray they don't show a relationship between Shagun-Raman post leap, but if we go by old soap trends - a relationship may or may not exist but she will be "with" him for the kids.

Also - no need to apologize for errors (which are non existent)...I appreciate that you took time to post.

It does - desi TV standards are actually horrible for both the FLs & MLs.

FL: she's aadarsh, self-sacrificing, loyal to their main love, often compromise their self-respect, but they are always right in their actions...rare mistakes will happen but they will be justified by the reasoning for the error.

ML: he's a lost soul who comes to rely on his spouse. either he makes mistakes or small slip ups (in non-YHM shows) but the mess will be cleaned up usually by the spouse or they become wallflowers. rarely do they experience a gamut of emotions on screen (baring YHM where the ML cries more than the FL 😆).

I'm missing stuff on this analysis of leads in Indian shows, but as a whole many shows some how adopts this weirdly contrived societal view of gender expectations.
--
Logically and to be truly fair, this show needs to move from the journey of a two individuals coming together to the journey of their lives separately. But what sucks is - what about the kids? Why do they have to suffer again too?
--
Trust me - reading things on the forum this week and writing this were hard...I feel like a fool for still caring even though I knew in January that this wasn't my YHM...hope is hard to kill & ironically while SP is promoting "Hope Never Dies"...my hope for this show has been killed

I honestly may enjoy watching the show if they focused on their lives separately... like an actual separation period, considering/pending divorce. it actually would make me sick to the stomach to see Ishita still living under the same roof as Raman, when (and if?) she finds out the whole truth.

The children are the ones to suffer with no fault of theirs... and that makes me very angry. But, I would rather they see a strong, independent woman in their mother rather than what I fear the show will show...
I'm talking about the FL solely because I absolutely cannot relate to the ML at this moment in time... so I have nothing to say for Raman.

I should have just quit in January... curse my optimism and hopefulness. 😆

Hey TM..
I get your frustration. ..but honestly and this is purely my opinion..IshRa as i knew them were desecrated during the mani track..I could never look at ishita the same again. ..thanks to the way the cvs convoluted the script and made her seem condescending, emotionless and just plain unrelatable..raman was still there in parts...but no longer the 11pm version that I had so grown to adore. .flawed ..making huge blunders but always standing for what was right...

The sautan saga and bringing home her molester officially killed ishita for me ...and many others i knew who followed yhm like addicts. .and were INVESTED in ISHRA...one half of ishra died long backMute Raman for few months after this made me lose interest in him too..I knew it was a matter of time before raman turned into pure 730 time ever slot ML...

So for the last 8 in months odd it really hasn't been ishra. .Just few glimpses of them off n on..n predominantly those left watching ..like me ...watch only for those moments of brilliant acting and camaraderie of the leads...
Will that change after this disgusting plot line and leap..idk...i have already skipped a lot of weeks., at times months in the last 8 months odd...i might still completely skip this track..n watch intermittently ..popcorn in hand ...if and when there is a good scene..purely nostalgia sake and cos honestly indian telly hardly has anything else to write home about in the few other shows i hv managed to see...

But ishra and YHM of 11pm will still hold repeat value for me...and IshRa for , e would always be those broken souls in the first 10 months till sep 14...that image is enough for me. .

I totally understand what you mean about 7:30 and the degradation of the leads & I tried to reference this fact in my post. I sorta knew things were going south during the Mani track, but it was very subtle. It was in January that the fall accelerated, but the makers were cleaver to give us glimpses of the characters we loved. Now there is no recognition of these characters. They are not the people introduced to us in December 2013.

Both Raman and Ishita have become stereotypical telly soap leads now. It's the flat reality.

I have been behind on tracks and am still on the doggie reveal of the family track juice poisoning (whose ending is stupid for lack of a better word) - and since this week has started - I haven't any urge to even try to catch up to the point that YHM "Season 3" (aka this past Monday).

I think many of us who can eventually leave will follow your statement in bold because the cast has no doubt done a stellar job for 1.5+ years, and the first 10 months are the main testament to their poweress.
