You simply laugh. Laugh at the sheer ABSURDITY of it all...life and how it screws you...đ
No, I haven't accorded YHM the status of my life as such, but till sometime back it formed an integral part of my day, my telly soap watching history...and in the way I present my views and spice up my reviews and all, yes, to some extent, how I look at people and relationships and the world..and hence, life.
What all do I comment on today?
What is worth COMMENTING on?
Shagun is already lying determined on the hospital bed to be a mother for a third time in a row, with the same man's sperm...where millions in the this world dont have a fricking SINGLE chance at motherhood
Raman walking in with a bouquet of flowers...like there was never a bitter history between him and his ex-wife
Shagun behaving as if it were THEIR child...hers and Raman
The ward boy reminiscing how 7 years ago Raman had, in utter joy, handed over a gold watch to him...and distributing sweets and gifts among a few staff at the hospital...beti ke paida hone ki khushi mein...
Shagun and Raman sharing an awkward glance..as if they just revisited the past in a jiffy and came back to present...
The subtle layered MULTIPLE hints...giving us a throwback of ShaRam that WAS..and showing signs of re-emerging, breaking the very premise and soul of YHM...
The way Shagun seems excited about THIS baby...and how she shrugs off Adi's and Ruhi's birth as ignorance of the first time pregnancy and heady love with her husband's boss as reasons to not have enjoyed the earlier two pregnancies...HER children...its like she's risen from the ashes...just like a phoenix...ready to take on a SECOND life...she keeps saying she is happy for Raman and Ishita...and like cliche Bollywood movies, somewhere during this pregnancy she will start feeling happy for HERSELF...Raman will forget he doesn't need this shit, coz he already has two kids waiting at home for him...or a wife who;s done so much for him no sane woman in this world would EVEN TAKE ON herself.
I am disappointed, angry, disgusted with so many things...But most of all, I am APPALLED Raman's utter disregard for the possible consequences, should his wife EVER come to know of it all...and somehow link it with the cold storage footage...utter disrespect for his wife's feelings...callousness and insensitivity...
And of course, the disgust I felt when I realised how cool even Manoj is ...as regards this arrangement. He cant bear staying away from her (he positively looked sullen when the broker spoke about the other flat he had arranged for Shagun) but he's okay with his potential love interest's EX-HUSBAND's sperm floating around in her womb.đĄ Wow. Just WOW.The sheer LUDICRITY of it allđĄ If this is modern, then well...we're all paan-chewing rural specimen with no inkling of how far times have comeđ
I am simply DISGUSTED. That's the word. How can they show what they're showing currently 7 days a week now? I wonder...are they on hash or something?
Rinky's death has everybody devastated...but somehow I just couldn't connect to the scene at Bhalla household...dunno why...maybe because I did not expect a YHM character to be bumped off this unceremoniously!
The only person who looked really distraught..was Toshi...and the only other time I felt a slight stir within me, was how shaky Ishita;s voice sounded as she called Raman up...asking him to rush him...telling him the police has found Rinky's body. Oh well! How can I forget?? Even with this shoddy script, Raman had found me as a taker, for his portrayal of a devastated, crushed man...suffering the pain of hearing about his young sister's death...also liked how Ishita rushed to him, to comfort him...
But most of it was hogwash. The others bawling and crying...rather sniffing...I had a hard time relating to it. Maybe the YHM effect is finally wearing off...đ
Bhalla ji looks HORRIBLE and comical in these tear-jerker scenes...I hope he is never asked to enact such scenes again where he prolly has to resort some sort of chest-beating
Bala sounded clammy and morose too...he was speaking in a shaky voice too..I like how the IYERS are like a family to the Bhallas...like there's no north-south divide...like they're all a big fat Indian household. They are one of the takeaways I'll cherish when I eventually stop watching YHM.
ACP grilled Mihika, taking her aside...asking her pointed questions about Mihir...what kind of a guy is he? where was he when Rinki disappeared...blah blah...On her part, Mihika looked shocked and indignant when asked these questions. Naturally she defended Mihir, and RiMi marriage to the hilt...giving no hint of her past equation with Mihir or the fiasco among the trio...
But all said and done, I am most shocked by a revelation at the end of the episode...Everybody was of the opinion that Mihir reached just today (not US...the Bhallas did! Mihir just sprung up on us todayđ)...But Ishita, while packing Mihir's bag, finds his boarding pass which states he flew down to Delhi, from NY two days ago...now the question is, if he WAS here two days back, WHY DIDNT HE TELL ANYBODY? Come to think of it, Mihir was the ONLY one who didnt look shattered enough...or shaken up like the others...his wife died, for heaven's sake...in a scene towards the end, where they were all done with the antim sanskaar, Bala placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, trying to console him...offer him some solance...Mihir didnt LOOK like he needed consolation or comfort...it looked like he wasn;t too worked up...I could be wrong...but that's what I saw...and that's what Ishita noticed too...
For the first time, I have NO theories regarding this track...if anybody does, I'd be happy to hear about it. This is just like a really long movie now, running on parallel tracks, each uglier, murkier than the previous. Manju Kapoor might just want to shoot the CVs through the head if she watches the content YHM CVs air these days...they are really, really taking a liberal meaning out of "adapting the content as per Copyright Act" ..as regards the novel 'Custody'. She must be regretting not throwing in more sinister sub-plots in her novel, nai toh ab tak film ban chuki hoti uski novelđ˛
Mihir - the murderer??? I never, ever thought in this way...
But if I HAD to, then I can think of only ONE thing...he got to know of Rinky's affair and confronted her...in a heated argument, he ended up killing her...or, he didnt waste time confronting her...just hired a contractor killer to do the job ...or worse, bumped her off himself...or EVEN worse...he wants to avenge Shagun's miserable existence or something...and it strangely coincides with Shagun carrying IshRa eggs and sperm in her womb now...and fast forwarding 9 months into the near future...we will have sister and brother combination back in the limelight, turning Bhallas' lives upside down.
