This show, from day 1, had a focus on infertility. Ishita was ostracized for her inability to conceive & women watched this show because they could relate.

So how is it appropriate or empathetic to show a woman who was taunted as a "baanj" for years become pregnant almost immediately after her marriage consummated. What was showed is that her infertility (which was explained to us as tubal scarring) was CURED by sex.

Fine - viewers digested it as a miracle...but then women who have infertility issues often suffer miscarriages. She was not shown as her having a miscarriage due to her ailment...but it was showen that her miscarriage occured after an accident, that could affect any woman.

In a span of 2 weeks this show undid the infertility tag of Ishita's & now she is denying surrogacy not because it doesn't alleviate her of the "baanj" tag but because she doesn't want to give false hope. Should she not be given more time to introspect on what this means to her as a women or do they not want to offer her that depth?

And if that wasn't the worst...they have shown the husband who wanted his wife to experience a 9 month pregnancy go BEHIND HER BACK to try for surrogacy. She didn't go for any treatments, but he made the decision for HER to use the eggs. This is a COUPLE's decision that has been descricated.

Now think of the women who spend $100000 of dollars on TREATMENTS (not tests) to get pregnant. Think of the women who suffer multiple miscarriages due to reproductive tract issues. Think of the women who commit suicide or suffer severe depression because of the title "baanj." The people involved with this show may not have seen this in real life but I have worked with many women in this situation. This situation is soul piercing for couples.

The recent handling of surrogacy & the medical profession yet again sheds a horrible light on the entire process.

YHM is not handing out hope to the women who watched this show because they were in Ishita's place. it's also not handing out handing out realism about the struggles an infertile woman faces when trying getting pregnant.

Everything appears to be just for TRPs and in the process it looks like people involved have forgotten empathy towards fellow humans. I understand drama is needed for shows because I've watched tons of desi shows. But for a topic that was a tenant of the show (along with infidelity, second chances, and nature vs nurture)...it's sad to see it turned into a sick joke.

Television is an excellent medium to educate but why is it that Indian Television never really evolves to do this..why is it that they always fall into the TRP trap and digress! Its a pity that the channel and the Indian audience allows these regressive story lines to be shown!!!

I started watching this show because of its mature storyline theme and because it seemed initially not to be a typical saas - bahu, rona dhona drama and had strong male and femal characters...Initially it was truly the nayi soch that pulled me in besides the chemistry of the leads and acting prowess of the ensemble cast!

I'll probably add more to the post when my anger dies down! Just too upset, sad and extremely pissed right now!

That's what's bothering me. This was entirely not needed.

I said this else where, but if the couple agreed together for surrogacy & Shagun saved them - I would have no problem.

But this is blatant insensitivity and lack of morals/ethics/empathy for the sake of TRPs.

After almost 7 years of not watching any soap I curse myself the day I saw this soap. I kind of feel in love with this soap because it didn't go the generic route where the female lead is always correct, the male lead always dominating, vamps always trying to kill the female lead, female lead takes the blame for everyone mistake, MIL always torturing the female lead so I gave up on watching the soap.

I think they were at no 2 position even though they were airing at 11 clock in the night because of their good story line. Yes most of us signed up and got hooked for this...as it was so unique and carried such a powerful message of second chances, of relationships that truly are formed by emotional attachment..

Once the time changed to 7:30 in the race to be first they kind of lost the story and now this YHM is popular just because of the lead chemistry if it would have been other actor/actress playing the role of Ishita/Raman I guess the day they changed the story line they would have lost the trp race and would have been out of Top 10.

Why cannot they figure the leads are IshRA and not SHAGUN why is she needed to be involved when it is ISHITA/RAMAN baby when the Ishita itself doesn't know she is having a baby how can her husband ex know all the details about the baby. I was not even happy with how they got to consumption SHAGUN had to push them why could they have not shown it because they were in love with each other.

What type of a doctor is Manoj does he not have any ethics. He keeps sharing confidentail information about a patient to a third party if it is real life I would have sued his ass off and made sure his license is cancelled

What type of husband is Raman why they keep butchering his character why have they made him insensitive all of sudden the reason he wanted the baby in the first place is for Ishita to feels all the joys of experiencing the motherhood in the nine months while she was carrying how is this baby going to be different from Adi and Ruhi except it will have the same genes as Ishita/ Raman if they wanted to show the baby like this they could have gotten her married to Subbu itself she could have gladly donated her egg and Subbu could have donated the sperm and Lakshmi could have been asked to be surrogate mother and vola in 9 months Ishita/Subbu child at least then she would not have lost on her first love.

I think I am going mad thinking started to write about Raman and ended up writing about Ishita/Subbu child I am that mad I cannot think properly.

I as a woman would have lost trust in my husband if he took a major decision in our lives without involving me. I would still love him because love is unconditional but the trust would be gone and for every little thing I would be more cautious finally that would result in the love turning into hatred.@bold what is a couple's relationship without trust? Especially the kind of trust broken by Raman when he misused her blind trust in him to get her consent in something she has already said no to.?

I am so mad at them for making a mockery of a sensitive issues why don't they understand how hard it is for a woman who is going through this difficulty in conceiving and people perceiving her not to be a complete woman.

I am not even sure whether I made any sense but I am so angry today I want this week the TRP should fall so much that they are not even in Top 10. Amen to that!!!
