Chapter 43

He looked at hr confused and slowly try to move his hand, but she didn't let him do so. She kept her hand on his and looked him with a smile while he was wondering what she was doing and why. All he could think about was that she was making him touch her and feel their baby. He just stared back and forth from her face to his hand while she smiled widely at him.

He looked at his hand as his face broke into a smile. His baby was right there probably under his hand. He smiled at the thought of the baby knowing his touch, at her for letting him feel his baby and for just being able to have this moment he had wished for ever since he had heard about Ruhi. At that time, he would want to talk to his Ruhi and feel her, but never was it possible and today she had given him what he thought he would never get. That precious feeling of their child.

"What happened?" he finally asked when she didn't say anything after a while and only watched him.

"Nothing. You were crying and I couldn't see that, so I hugged you to make you feel better. But you know this time you don't need me to be there, you need the baby. And I was right, there are no more tears in your eyes."

He knew she was right, but little did she know it wasn't only the baby, but herself who could make him stop crying and console him. That moment he realized how this baby and Ishita had become such a vital part of his life. It was only them and Ruhi for him. It was them who could make him happy or sad in a moment, and it was only them who mattered. And so keeping his hand on her stomach, he asked her to come closer and put his other arm around her as she did.

"Now it's perfect. I need the baby and you!"

"You also need Ruhi."

"But I don't have 3 arms otherwise I would have brought her and taken her into my arms as well." He said as they both looked at Ruhi's crib with smiles on their faces.

"Don't worry you can take her into your arms when she wakes up at 3am. And I'll sleep!" she joked and giggled.

"I will...because I want spend time with her that I didn't get like I am with this baby."

"Raman..."

"Thanks Ishita. Again you did something for me that I won't ever be able to thank you enough for. You ler me feel my baby even before it's born."

"It's your right."

"For me it's a privilege. I've never gotten to do this before when it was something I looked forward to when I first found out about Ruhi. All these things like talking to the baby, feeling it, the whole boy-girl debate. Preparing for its arrival...I never got that before you've given it all to me. I'll never forget this no matter what. You've given so much that I'll cherish all my life."

"You let me be Ruhi's mother in every way, then why can't I let you have the rights of a father?"

Every time he thought he had seen the best of her and knew her well, she always surprised him with something new and she did it once again. She made it look do simple to forget or try to forget the man who was the so called real father of her baby and gave him that spot so easily. And now she was giving him all the right that came with that position so happily. He didn't know what to do and just cuddled her like a small child putting his head on her shoulder and simply said...

"You're really nice Ishita!"

"And you're such a child!" she laughed as he cuddled onto her shoulder like Ruhi would.

"I have 2 kids, how can I be a child?!"

"You are. You have 2 kids, but I have 3 kids. You're the biggest one and the hardest to handle!"

"Well then let this kid sleep."

"You were the one you wouldn't sleep. And you said you were so tired!"

"Now you're not letting me."

"Raman..."

"Go to sleep and let me sleep." He looked up and smiled at her before closing his eyes resting on her shoulder. She patted his head gently like she did with Ruhi...

"Yes I will, first go to sleep baby." He opened his eyes immediately as he heard her words and she bit her tongue realizing what he sentence sounded like. He looked up at her as she blushed and tried to hide her smile. He burst out laughing at her sentence as she looked away from him embarrassed, but couldn't keep her laughter in for long. As he calmed down, she tried to explain she was calling him a baby and he understood but couldn't help laugh again.

"Raman...stop!" she looked away shyly and still embarrassed.

"You did the same thing to me when I said I like having babies."

"You always tease me! Right from the day we got married."

"So? You do too!"

"Stop laughing and go to sleep!" she ordered him and he became quiet and tried to sleep on her shoulder again as he held in his laughter. But that laughter went away as she smacked his arm gently and asked him to sleep again. And so resting on her shoulder and keeping one hand on her stomach he shut his eyes dozing off as she stroked his head and rested her chin on it and slowly fell asleep.

She rushed in with his breakfast as he was running around trying to get everything together for work. Meanwhile Ruhi started to cry and she had to sit down trying to calm the infant as he was busy juggling his food and work. Quickly taking a couple of bites, he went back to finishing his work and started to stuff everything into his bag while she was busy changing Ruhi. She kept on looking out from the bathroom door watching his morning rush as she shook her head and muttered about his laziness during the evenings causing this chaos in the mornings. He was like that kid who did half their homework at night and would leave the last little bits till the morning and would end up finishing their work on the table while eating or in the car. She saw him all ready to go and putting on his shoes when she came out of the bathroom and as she sat down with Ruhi on her lap, she heard his phone ring on the night table.

"Raman your phone." She called out as he was too busy with himself.

"Pass it please." She picked up his phone and noticed the name flashing on it.

"Raman...Mihir..." she tried to pass the phone to give, but he didn't pay attention and continued with his work.

"Ignore it."

"Why?"

"You know why." He got up taking his things, took his phone from her, cut the call and was about to when she stopped him...

"Do you have a moment?" he sighed as he knew what was coming up, but he couldn't ever deny her, so...

"Don't be formal, what happened?"

She tapped the spot on the bed next to her and he dragged his feet over dreading this talk as he knew what she was going to say. To go meet Mihir and sort it out, but it wasn't easy at all and something he couldn't do. As he sat down she knew it was going to be a tough to convince him to at least try to work it out with Mihir. But she was going to try and so she began...

"Raman...I know it's not easy to talk to him. And I don't I ever said this to you, but I'm sorry. Sorry for bringing him here."

"You didn't know."

"But it hurt you and caused a lot of drama in my house. So I'm sorry. But don't we both know you can't ignore him forever? You will need to talk to him one day or the other."

"No I don't!"

"Is this the hurt he caused you or the anger you have for him speaking up?"

"What do you mean?"

"He was right Raman. You might be hurt by his accusations on you, but you are angry about him wanting to take Ruhi. And today it seems like that anger has taken over you. Because my sensible Raman doesn't talk like this."

"Ishita...I don't know. I can't...Mihir was like a brother. That younger brother I never had. He was more close to me than with Shagun. And then after she left, he changed so much...I was so hurt when he blamed me for everything. I couldn't believe this Mihir who would side with me whenever Shagun and I argued or had differences was now saying I was the reason his sister died, that I was the only one to blame."

"Then why is this anger so much stronger?"

"Because I could accept that hurt. I felt I deserved it since overtime I also started to accept the fact that his anger and accusations were right and I would never be upset at him about that. He was right in his way, even I thought he was right after a while. After all he had lost his sister, the very sister I promised to keep happy and safe all the time...but I couldn't accept his doubts on my parenting. After Shagun...Ruhi...Ruhi became everything. She was the reason I got some happiness and peace in my life. All I wanted was my daughter to be happy and healthy, and when Mihir said he would take my daughter from me, I don't know what got into me. It hurt so much Ishita...just the thought of being separated from her...she...she's my life you know..."

"I know Raman...and I get your anger..." she finally got into his thoughts and knew what bothered him so much. The fact that Mihir is remembered as the man who wanted to take away his daughter. She knew he wasn't completely wrong as it would hurt to have someone say such things especially when she knew what Ruhi was to Raman. She was his solace after Shagun's demise and she was the one that kept him going, she was the reason he was trying to move on...she was the reason they were together.

And as she thought of it and her moments with Ruhi right for the day she met her. She remembered Raman telling her Ruhi had been sick and that concern for her that came was like a mother's concern and how could she forget how peacefully her pumpkin had fallen asleep in her arms. A faint smile appeared on her lips as she thought of Ruhi's nicknames and then understood Raman right then. That was when she knew where his anger came from, the mere thought of not having Ruhi with her made her want to hold onto her child and never let go. His anger was because of that very reason...

"Raman...you don't want to talk to him?"

"No. I can't and I don't want to."

"Just once...for me."

"Why? Why are you insisting so much?"

"Just do it Raman. Once and for all. Tell him why you are so anger. Everything you told me, tell him and let him know you don't want to talk to him. Finish it off so he will be at peace and so will you."

"So will you? What do you mean? My life is more peaceful if I ignore him."

"Don't lie. I see it when he calls, your mood get spoiled right then and that anger comes to you along with those horrible memories. So just tell him everything and let him live peacefully knowing he tried to clear things and it didn't work and live peacefully yourself because he won't call ever few days trying to talk to you."

He thought for a while as she did have a point. Mihir continuous calls and that visit to the house kept on taking him back to the memories of Shagun's funeral and those thoughts would end in a lot of anger and bitterness inside him. Would it be easier to let go of it all in one meeting? Should he do as she said? After all isn't this what he was trying to do? Get over his past and try to move on. Meeting Mihir for one last time would really help as he would get rid of those calls and reminders of his past. So he agreed with her.

"I guess you're right. I'll...I'll call him today."

"See that's the Raman I know. And I also know it will be hard, but remember it's for the better. And I'm always here for you."

"I know you are...so...I guess I'll leave now. I'll try to call him when I get home...I want you to be with-"

"Always."

"Thanks! Now I should get going. I'll be back earlier today!" he finally gave a smile to her.

"All three of us will be waiting!" she smiled back at him.

He said goodbye to Ruhi who was on her lap in a childish tone and kissed her cheek. While she was admiring the father-daughter duo, she didn't noticed when Raman moved from Ruhi's cheek to her hand on Ruhi's shoulder and planted a quick kiss before getting up quickly before she could respond. It took a minute for her to understand what had happened. And by then he left his blushing beauty as he walked out the door biting his lower lip as he thought about her...

hey sorry yaar for not commenting on prev parts but was busy with some stuffs. ishra relation is progressing very beautifully from last 3 part. they are slowly slowly started to accept each other with their small gestures.. I like the part when they both were cuddled with each other and mihika saw them 😳

hey I was thinking that such kind of scene will be here where Raman will share his insecurities with ishita regarding baby. about features and all but as usual ishita maturely handled everything.

she is trying her level best to keep them closer. I lied when she placed his hand on her belly and how beautifully he kept his head on her shoulder. just loved that part.

😆 ishita have 3 kids. this was so sweet actually. ok so now you will brought mihir here. I hope they solve their differences soon. thanks for pm dear and will wait for next part

raman touched his baby to feel presence of him in his life.raman never experience as a father in ruhi's time.he want to feel every experience,what he miss in ruhi's birth time..

AS we know mihir loves shagun..he want to snatch ruhi from raman,bcoz ruhi is the symbol of his sister.After seeing ishru ,ishraru bond..mihir definately regret his mistake.he definately apologies raman for his wrong behaviour,accusation for his sister death..

yaar ishu always amazed me.she explain every person situation widely.raman agree to met mihir..

i loved when ishu saying she have 3 childrens ..and elder kid of her is raman and he is very hard to handle.as i remember i give opinion about this..

AWwe ishu called raman as her baby..she is blushing,he enjoying her smiles,her antics..her shyness,puttar enjoying her closeness.
