Why such difference between YHM of 7:30 and 11?

I was away for a while, so basically on a break from the show. Came back only to read a lot of complains about the it so caught up with the show today. And I really want to raise a question that's been on my mind since forever. Why is the current YHM, the 7:30 YHM so different from the one at 11? What do the creatives really think? That people who watch the show at the evening slot are regressive, dumb, drama-addicts and from the 17th century? 😳

Not showing romance, not mentioning intimacy without the purpose of a baby, involving a child in infertility issues and creating drama that the show can do without.

I love the show, I've always loved it and again, its so much better than other shows on TV that I can't detach and not watch. But I certainly have questions

1. I totally get that Ruhi and Ishita are meant to be the base and soul of the show. Their relation is what made IshRa come together in the first place. BUT Ruhi is a child after all. She's the one who got two incomplete, troubled and insecure souls together and became the REASON they united. She's not the reason their love exists too. She got them together YES but now they are a couple and they are supposed to have a relation that exists nevertheless. Showing the infertility track being triggered because Ruhi wants a baby to play with is demeaning of this sensitive social issue. If you show IshRa getting intimate and wanting a child because Ruhi wants it, it would be the heights of crap this show has ever dished out. Making Ruhi say dialogues above and beyond her age was a norm, but exposing her to infertility etc is beyond bearable. That is something that is supposed to be between Ishita and Raman ONLY and not be made a topic of discussion for everyone in the family let alone Ruhi. But we have her infertility being slapped on her face in between a corridor, Vandu and Bala talking about how the pair should TRY for a baby etc. Like are we serious? It was fine till the confessions happened in front of the world, but will their intimacy too be something for a panel to discuss and interfere about?

Why show something like that on a 7:30 slot then? Does it mean creatives think that this makes for family viewing? Do mother in laws or the family in general FOR REAL tell the married couples how to get in bed, make babies and discuss what a couple does behind closed doors out like this? On what basis has this show dished out all of this after slot change? Forget Urban, even the rural population doesn't do what is being shown 😕

2. A normal couple, that has had an arranged marriage, hasn't even fallen in love as such do have certain amount of intimacy and attraction in their married life. But Ishita Raman here who are married, in love, and totally committed do not even look at each other with mushy eyes wanting to romance. All Ishita wants to do is take care of the son's injured foot and pack tifins for Ruhi when there's an army spare to do it at least for one day. And all Raman can do is want to get close to his wife when there's a marriage at home and guests swarming the place. But when there is no trouble in sight and no family drama to solve he forgets about it all.

It isn't honestly even funny anymore the reasons creatives use to postpone the consummation or forget that completely, postpone even basic romance, conversations and NORMAL husband wife time. Vandu Bala/ Romi Sarika, Abhishek Mihika HECK even Senior Bhalla's romance more than the leads of the show who have a soap named 'YEH HAI MOHABBATEIN' after them.

The show is on 7:30 slot yes. But do people viewing the show that time not romance or have a normal married life themselves. Then why do they not get to view that or are the writers trying to prove them hypocrites who can have a normal life but the couple on the show can't?

3. Why does the show recycle all the tracks over and over? Why does it have to go back to routine like other shows? Getting the same old vamp or villain back into picture to stretch the drama? Why not try different tracks and do something new? I say this over and over. This show got so popular because it was different and not because it was mundane. Trying something new is always welcome to viewers. I do get the business sense in this. And the reason why they do not put extra efforts over a story once its established. But why degrade something you've yourself created so beautifully.

Raman has moved on, Ishita has moved on, the children have accepted them as their parents, Shagun has been proven wrong. The characters have developed and reached a point where undoing all that just to redeem Shagun and have some drama and trp the writers are basically going backwards with all the effort they've put into the show to make it reach where it has.

Lastly all I want to know is. Why do people think that early slots are viewed by people who are regressive or with 'purani soch' and can't take in a bit of maturity and boldness? Can't those same people watch a show at 11. Do you think all the people that give you trp not watch or can't watch shows at 11? How does the mindset of viewers change with the time the show airs. SERIOUSLY? 😕

You have detailed my own sentiments perfectly!!!
This once beloved show has deteriorated consistently since the time slot change which was my primary fear when the announcement was made. Aside from some lollipop moments we have been subjected to the same regressive saas-bahu style drama with some glimpses now and then of the old YHM to keep us hooked on!
Its sad to see such a talented star cast being wasted !!!

Bang on post Anku.

The makers had no faith in their creation so they got melodrama into 7.30 slot to lure more audience. If only they would have kept their original style of understated drama and simple storyline, I am sure even the so called TRP Audience would have accepted that.

Coming to Ishita's fertility and insecurity, they have made a mockery of that. 🥱 🤢

Now we see a woman who was always taunted for being jnfertile giving into demands of her husband and kid. 🥱 what she wants and what her fears are, are not being discussed because that is not important. A simple scene between Vandu or Mrs Iyer will take a lot of screen space, how can we grab eyeballs away from audience who watch snake charmers and Dayan stories - so they get Shagun's Sautan drama. 🥱

Its like women should give in to happiness of their husbands or kids keeping their fears aside.

First time Raman talked about baby, she said U complete me and I dont need one to get a definition as a mother, I alreafy am one. After that what happened? Raman never tried to understand what Ishita wants? 🤪 A simple talk between this couple related to baby will require more screen space than Shagun/AdiVinni/BalaVandu/Romika/Abhishek Mihika problems.

N most importantly Consummating your marriage for a child? 🤪

Only reason for all the whys I think is no faith in their product.

The same 11 pm product was watched by the so called TRP audience in reruns aired throughout the day. 😆 so this logic of trying to match the product according to 7.30 pm audience slot is quite lame on their part.

Yes, what it was at 11 and how it has joined the herd now SO sad. I can't seem to get over the change. I watch this show now, honestly only because of the actors and because the charm and magic yet does show up because of them *sigh*

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out"
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out"
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out"
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me"and there was no one left to speak for me.

That pretty much sums it up. When they first started to serve us crap, we validated it saying it's a healing track. They continued and we further termed this crapfest as eternal IshRu bond, Ishita's motherly love or Raman's natural usual behavior. Now the ship has sailed a long time ago.

So good to see you back, Anku. Hope you had a good time away from all of this 😊
What a wonderful post, very well thought out with some pertinent questions and valid points which most of us have on our minds.👍🏼👏

Really feel terrible watching our dear show going down the drains with each incident, episode and track.

Will try to update with more thoughts later if I get a chance, but just wanted to come and say I loved your post and agree completely with all the points you have made.

I got the anniversary scene. She gave a valid explanation and the topic ended. But after their confession the topic has been rehashed again. Raman and Ishita not discussing it is fine for now because so far there is every chance they can talk about it later. But a child of 8 being involved in this is just way out of line. A topic like infertility should not be made into a joke.

I just don't know why intimacy cannot be discussed separately from procreating 😕 It may not be intentionally done to show something wrong, but its a very regressive thought anyway. YHM post the time slot change would have definitely approached this issue in a more mature way.

You're probably right, the ship has definitely sailed a long time back. But when we see the old charm rise at times, it makes you hopeful again about the show at least trying to approach its former glory, though it can never retain it entirely

Word Anku!! 👏👏

I always like your balanced input about any thing and whatever points you raised are in most of our minds...I really dont know why would the same group of creatives who produced such meaningful tracks one time will produce one crappy track after another in the name of changing target audience...It really baffles me...as this is my 1st BT show...I was truly not conscientious of their history of extreme melodrama...then I wouldnt have been so commited to this story. Now it's hard to totally wean off of it.🤢
