Very valid points indeed. Sadly, at the end of the day, its revenue that matters to the channels and Production Houses, and they cater to those TRP aunties who facilitate it.
We may be in denial most of the time, but the fact is that this show has lost its essence a while ago. Subtlety got replaced with OTT drama, and simple family moments became a rare sight. Where the original portrayal was shown to be a contrast between Shagun and Ishita - black v/s white as Raman pointed out in the Mihir-Mihika engagement party, after the show moved to the TRP aunty slot, it was turned into a contrast between a know-all, do-all mahaan devi of a female lead v/s a useless ass of a male lead. The human element, the relatability, slowly started diminishing. But then they would still show traces and elements of the original vintage YHM now and then, and lure us back in.
Would Ishita actually choose to abandon her family due to an illness or a disease, would she hurt her children and make them believe something that is not true? Would she be so insensitive as to make her beloved Raavan Kumar go through betrayal and desertion all over again, relive the very pain that she brought him out of, and have him go back into his shell and break their family after building and nurturing it with so much care and tenderness?
Would the Raman Bhalla whom I have watched and admired so far, really give a second chance to Shagun, irrespective of whatever Ishita may make him to believe? He may hate Ishita or become bitter and arrogant all over again, but having Shagun come back into his life as his children's mother...that would never happen in my YHM world.
Wouldn't that be an insult to the very institution of marriage? Where is the mutual trust and sharing between the couple? The whole bloody IshRa journey that we saw in the last year and a half meant nothing then. Brought together by destiny, the step by step progress in their relationship from friendship to trust to acceptance as life partners to love to soulmates..it has been so beautifully done. And just when they are about to embark on this journey together, they have to undo and reset the whole thing?
Shagun abandoned Raman and a six month old Ruhi for a better and materially richer life, and as if that wasn't enough, she continually harrassed them at every single turn of life.
Subbu deserted Ishita and ended their 12 year old relationship based on some medical condition wherein she was unable to conceive, something which was not in her power. Not only that, he re-entered their peaceful lives again in a conniving and deceptive manner, and made a whole revenge plan trapping the innocent Simmi and Ananya, almost killing them.
Where is the maturity, sense, and nayi soch in teaming up with these very exes, whether pretend or for real, and what is the message that they are trying to give us with all this?
Over the years I have seen that these BT shows and writers are stuck in a rut, and the Indian Television on the whole doesn't want to move beyond this regressive era. With each show I hope that they would bring about a change finally, but they all end up the same way eventually and leave me disappointed all over again.
