U r 100% right and spot on Krishy. And what you have pointed out is so correct- regarding Adi. Yes, intentionally or unintentionally the kids are having to face this. Legally (talking in true Medico-legal terms) speaking, Shagun has caused a lot of abuse to her 2 kids, come in whatever form.
I think the reaction mainly is as U rightly pointed out- this is Ruhi now (though it still doesn't justify what happened to Adi) and moreover, even if people have noticed it earlier with Adi, the difference is Adi directly wasn't made to feel neglected or not wanted. I'm not defending myself or anyone here- just RATIONALISING, main human defence mechanism!
I have underlined the statement, which is very important to every parent/ guardian or care-giver. Kids need to be looked after, protected, loved and sheltered- both physically and emotionally!!!
