"Every home needs an Iyer" she said "that can cook vendakka curry, make curd rice,
and wear jasmine in her hair... not to mention scold in choicest Tamil gaalis

"You forgot nose ring, and yell Rakshasan when he torments you
and beg "kanna" when husband refuses to let go while making love"


"That!!" she said bending down

"Lets go?"

she turned startled

"really? Abhi?"

She nodded shaking off her thoughts

"Veg Biryani" "i forgot to rinse the rice... I have to... I need way more veggies than we have... I run from station to station leaving work half done... I am very disorganized when I have to cook for a party
I mean I havent cooked for many parties... only Amma's bhajan mandli anniversaries, Amma makes chakara pongal (rice cooked in jaggery sauce) and tamarind rice and potato curry.. and papad

I will fry a dozen papad and eat like 9 of them (giggling)

"Grilled veal chops with sage & sundried tomatoes and a grilled ginger soy eggplant for you"

She turned to look at him in shock
"Mere liye?" like she didnt believe she could be part of his culinary excursions, his caviar eating, champagne drinking, ultra cool French life

He just stared at her... her eyes sparkling like the solitaries in her ears and nose.. at that joyous news,
like he had just told her Shravu was arriving tonight...

They were the most unlikely partnership of any kind the world had seen... a curd rice eating Iyer that fried papads for her Amma's bhajan
mandli's annual conculsion events. He was the caviar eating, Domaine Leroy Corton-Renardes Grand Cru like expensive French wine
drinking, flip flop wearing venture capitalist... but HOW/WHY was this unmistakable tug happening?

@swathi I think younger ones are crazy even nisha oda younger is like this and so is shevs, I think sunshine oda younger same story , this one too lives in lala land , so from feb she asks what will be the theme, we can't scold her entire March else she cries buckets saying we are scolding her during her birth month on her bday she keeps an alarm for 3 am to rush to our room😳 since that's her birth hour. Total mad but I don't want her to see the real world too 😭

My best friend takes us out for dinner for all our Bdays wherever we want to eat, be it a $5 pizza and arcade (AYYO!!) or $100 a meal/person restaurant, its "her" thing, so mornings... my family gets force fed Iyer food esp if its a weekend

The younger one is always a TERROR!! My younger one made a list on Christmas day on what he wanted for next Christmas..I told him his list should contain ONE WORD "ODAI" (KICK!😆)
He befriends ONLY girls and will come home and speak cryptically about them and at the end of the conversation tell me "You can make her my girlfriend IF YOU LIKE"
