Chapter 13
On the way home , they visited the doctor so as to get raman checked for his injury. The doc examined raman and just told ishita- "he is almost cured , completely fine , his injury is 90% healed and now he can walk or do what he wants but just with a little care and precaution, just make sure he doesn't try and walk too fast or strain his leg immensely . otherwise all gud , just few more days and he will be completely ready to go." And the doc gave a big smile looking at raman and aarav.
Although they shld have been happy that raman's injury was cured but they did not . ishita was relieved that raman's injury was cured but hearing doc's phrase abt few more days led to a fear sink inside her . she cud not help but think " matlab kuch din aur , aur phir raman aur main phir se apni apni usi life mein , apne apne raaste jaise ek saal se the."And thinking dis she let out a sigh.
Raman on the other hand heard the warning bell , " ok so that mean mere paa sab zyaada time nahi hai ishita ko convince karne aur ghar le jaane ke liye. Kuch soch beta raman , iss baar kuch bada soch jisse tera kaam bane." And he decided to let his mind think after they reached home.
The 4 of them left for home , unaware that from now on , destiny wud start writing ishra's further few days and raman probably wud nt need to do much to take ishita back home. Now their destiny and god wud do the deed for them and they just have to go wid the flow.
Shru dropped them and went to her house as she was tired. At home they freshened up and then since raman and aarav sat down to play video games in the drawing room. Ishita , on the other hand , had decided to make pulao and so decided to read something for a while and then cook whenever they had to dine. She lied down on the bed in the bedroom and started reading some novel while her thoughts kept wandering to and fro since the day raman had cme to live wid her and aarav.
After a few minutes , she felt that dizziness coming back again but this time wid much more force , she cud not help but feel cold , shivered and then cuddled up under the blanket unaware when she went unconscious . when it was around 8 , raman and aarav came in bedroom to check on ishita as they knew she never slept at this hour.
When they saw ishita cuddled up like a small ball under the blanket , they almost ran to her and when they turned her around , they saw she was unconscious. She had fainted and this freaked them out completely. Raman's hands started shivering out of fear and shock and it was after few moments when he saw tears well up in aarav's eyes too that he composed himself and started talking and walking up ishita
Raman- (holding ishita's head in his hands) ishita kya hua tumhe? Utho na
Aarav- mom kya hua? Utho na
Raman- ishita utho yaar hamse baat karo , kuch toh bolo
Aarav - yup mom speak something plzz
Ishita did not wake up but just mumbled something in sleep and raman asked aarav to get the number of their doc. Raman called dr sinha who aarav told him was their doctor since last 1 year.
Those few minutes of waiting 4 dr sinha proved to be like years for raman , so much so that he called doctor sinha 4 times in 20 minutes till he realized he was irritating the doc.
Doctor sinha observed ishita and gave his verdict saying-
She has high fever and has thus fainted due 2 high fever , fever ke multiple reasons ho sate hain jaise weather etc but in dis case I feel she has been stressed mentally, physically as well as emotionally and dis is is the reason 4 her falling ill. U are her husband?" doctor asked raman as he had never met him in dis last one year.
Raman replied saying- " yes I am."
Doctor continued- " so plz make sure she gets proper rest , care and diet. Yeh medicines de dijiye ga and make her rest and take care of her . fever will come down in a day but after that too she will be very week as fever kafi high hai so make her rest for 2 days before she gets back to work."
Raman- ya sure doctor , anything else agar raat mein koi problem hi toh?
Doctor- dnt worry she will be fine , agar fever high hota hai toh thande paani ki stripes rakhiyega inke head par as in ice pack.
Raman- ya ya fine , I will drop u off outside.
Doctor sinha saw aarav a bit said and tried 2 cheer him up saying- hey champ aarav now take care of ur mom , last month when u were ill kitna dhyaan rakha tha na toh ab tum rakho mom ka dhyaan ok?
Aarav- yup sure doctor uncle I will. Mom jaldi theek ho jaayengi na?
Doctor- haan haan bohot jaldi agar tum aur tumhare dad mom ka achche se dhyaan rakhoge toh.
Raman escorted doctor to the door where before sitting in the car doctor sinha just turned around and told raman " plz uska dhyaan rakhna , ek saal I have seen she has been so alone and she loves u , u love her too , I can see that in the eyes of u 2. She is lucky that u are back when she has fallen ill like dis . plz give her all the care as well as love which she missed out in this one year. She is a gem of a person and I feel so are u."
Raman felt so gud and yet so bad. He was happy that their love was so visible 2 d world and sad that ishita had 2 go through so much because of him. He just said- " thank u doctor for everything . I will give her whatever she deserves and much much more than that. Ur fees?"
Doctor just replied- "who sab baad mein dekh lenge waise bhi I will be here in the morning to check up on her again. Use theek hone do phir dekhenge."
Raman just smiled and doctor gave a reassuring smile and left. Raman came inside after seeing off the doc and saw aarav sitting on the bed beside ishita wid a sad face and tears almost brimming his eyes. Raman said- "hey aarav get up , homework complete kiya tumne?"
Aarav- nahi mera mann nahi hai , aur main kal school bhi nahi jaaunga
Raman- par kyun?
Aarav- main nahi kar paaunga dad , nahi jaa paaunga mom...
And his words trailed off into silence. Raman decided to probe him further.
Raman- hey dude kya hua hai tumhe?
Aarav- u know main almost ek saal se mom ke saath hun and I have not seen her like dis even once even for a minute. Woh kabhi beemar hi nahi padi , hamesha wohi daily routine roz uthkar mom ka smiling face dekhna , unka gud morning kiss , khaana khilane ke liye peeche peeche bhaagna , mera homework karana , aur din bhar aarav aarav sun ne ki aadat si ho gayi hai. Aaj mom ko aise behosh dekhkar I feel main kitna akela hun mom ke bina. Aur who chodo main toh bachcha hun mom mere saath thi but mom ke saath toh koi bhi nahi tha ,who iss ek saal bikul akeli thi toh phir jab bhi main beemar pada , mom ne kitni achche se himmat se mera khyaal rakha ,main...
Raman understood aarav's hidden anxieties had come to the fore seeing ishita like dis unconscious and weak. He cud get what aarav was feeling as he himself cud nt see ishita like dis , toh aarav toh phir bhi bachca tha. he understood he had 2 cheer him up but before that he thanked god 4 sending aarav into ishu's life for this whole year. The kid truly loved ishita like his maa.
Raman- toh tum bhi rakho
Aarav- kya?
raman- apni mom ka khayal , himmat se jaise tumhari mom ne tumhara rakha tha
aarav was silent so raman continued...
raman- see aarav tumhari mom bhi toh ek human ha na toh beemar toh woh bhi pad sakti hai na , jaise tum samajhte ho na woh super woman hain par ek limit tak. Super heroes also need a break dude.
Aarav- really?
Raman- haan yaar jaise tumhari mom ne tumhara dhyaan rakha hai ab tum rakho unka aur jahan tak sawaal uthta hai tumhare bachche hone ka toh dekho na god kitne cool hain , jab tumhari baari aayi apni mom ka khyaal rakhne kit toh he sent me na to help u . I am an adult so I can help.
Aarav's face lighted up
Aarav- really ? arre haan maine toh aise socha hi nahi u r right , u r absolutely right dad , we will take care of mom together. Right dad?
Raman's eyes got brimmed up wid tears everytime he heard the word "DAD" from aarav's mouth . he felt innocent love in his voice which he cud not feel wid adi for years. aarav wiped his tears and raman also composed himself and said- yup right we will take care of ur mom and we will make her fit and fine in even lesser time.
Aarav- how?
Raman- with our LOVE
And they both smiled and hugged each other tightly. They checked ishu 4 fever. Her fever was down due 2 injections and she was sleeping peacefully now.
Raman said - hey aarav what will we offer ur mom to eat? She needs to have medicines too and we are also hungry nahi?
Aarav- ya true did not think abt it , lets order something
Raman- no ur mom can't have outside food as she is ill and if we eat it we will be gone , dnt u remember how ur mom became jkr when u suggested outside pizzas on Sunday.
Aarav burst out laughing - ya true so what to do now?
Raman thought 4 a moment and said- what does ur mom like most to eat?
Aarav- ummm rasam , she loves rasam but never made it in this year. Once she was telling shru so heard it.
Raman - ok lets go and cook rasam for ur mom
Aarav was shocked- who will cook? U?
Raman- ya so what did u think ? I dnt know how to cook?
Aarav sheepishly - ya I did not expect u to cook
Raman- actually I can get u , I never meant to cook but love 4 ur mom made me cook and practice it 4 an year.
Aarav- wowww love u , lets go but listen I won't eat the food u cook , fine?
Raman- hey why? U still dnt trust me? I cook gud.. ok...fine
Aarav- ok ok I will now shall we go before mom gets up.
Raman- arre haan lets go.
And off the father son duo went to kitchen to cook food for the lady of the house and also feed their empty stomachs.
