First of all, let me apologize before I start my rant..I was not at all planning to do this..In fact I have'nt even watched the show as religiously as I used to. I sometimes watch it and sometimes just read the updates and forget about watching the show.
Anyhow point being, what's happening to this show? You know it started with this beautiful concept of two people hurt and betrayed in love/ marriage getting a second chance.
A second chance that may not have even started or come into their life with their own choice, it actually came in their life because of their love for Ruhi..
The promos and trailers had gotten me hooked and from that point on, I was obsessed! I mean this show was different, there was a layer of story revealed at every point. The actors were brilliant and even the "vamp" was justified! Yes maybe some plots were pointless but as a whole, this story meant something. It meant to show that the journey of giving second chances is not easy but still it was worth it!
Hell I even put up with the below par acting of Adi because everyone else made up for it..
Then late last year, we got the whole jealously Mani thing. I took the bitter pill of Raman almost forcing himself on Ishita and not even properly apologizing. I even dealt with the haphazard way the Mani track was wrapped up. Hell I put up with a totally unrealistic confession at a international airport and Ishita beaing up Raman. I had hope for a better track just around the corner.
Suddenly Raman and Ishita became all lovey dovey and that was fine and dandy as well. My heart did'nt speed up like it did during the "Kabhi jo badal barse" rain dance or like the car scene when Raman was teasing Ishita about what he heard. But I decided it was probably because all couples become uninteresting after they declare their love. I still had faith of things getting better..Why? because we did get a great "kya" scene and that sort of kept me going.
But now, seriously whats left..the idea of Ishita and Raman romancing when there is whole a party going down downstairs (aka rinki's welcoming party) did'nt appeal to me..And honestly I don't know what..but something was missing..And then all this Adi crap.
I swear, blaming/yelling at Ishita for him missing? Really? Yeah we love him being angry and commanding in certain situations but not to the point when he is needlessly blaming his wife. And what about his responsibility? or the household's responsibility? Oh she married him, took on the Ishima tag for two of his kids when clearly his son does not want it.
Is Raman so blind as to not see his son for who he is? Is he so blind as to not remember that this was the kid who almost ran over a woman and is serving community service time? Does he not know how manipulative this kid can get considering he was raised by Shagun and Ashok?
You know, maybe its just me and the fact that I am not a parent. But I do still believe, kids need care and pampering yet they need a equal dose of Tough Love. What kind of parenting are you doing if you are actually helpless in front of your kid's demand and agree with it?
A boy who at the age of 12 has honestly not been given the right upbringing and can cause accidents does not deserve just care and pampering..He in fact requires a greater dose of tough love to counter balance. And yes, maybe the Raman of a year ago became this helpless for his son is understandable. But this is the same Raman that basically turned his son in!
And I understand that we do need a story arc for Adi but it could have turned out so so so much better. Show a boy forced to grow up for his mother. Show his confusion and actually dwell into it. Show a realistic psychologist who knows what she is talking about. I know enough about psychology and psychiatry to know how much they honestly disgraced the profession by the portrayal in this show. Show a character confused, insecure with at least more then one expression other then anger!?! I don't like commenting on a child's acting capabilities but come on CV's, you can definitely mold him or work on him to sort awaken his depth? Isn't that what directors are supposed to do?
And for Raman to become this helpless again? Ughhh..Can a character be destroyed more. I dealt with Ishita's character destruction and making her into this woman does nothing but handle the household with maybe a couple days of work! Trust me that was a bitter pill to swallow considering the reason i started watching this show was because it showed a working woman!an independent woman!
When did this show evolve into yet another Ekta Kapoor show with the two wives in the same house or crazy twists like a woman marrying the man accused of raping her? When did the CV's forget the point of this show and make it like every other show on tv. When did KP and DT who signed this show for its uniqueness agree for such plot lines which don't justify them, their character or their acting capabilities!!
Do I have any hope left? Honestly I am a person to hope against hope so yes I do..But is it dwindling down? Yep..Either way these days I am more addicted to the FF's then the show..
Once again, I needed to get my rant out of my system so I did but I apologize if I have inadvertently offended anyone. That was not the intention.
I guess the best thing about me taking a break from this show, is that it gave me a chance to be more productive then i have been previously. And now with my rant is out, I am glad I don't have to get anyone to listen to me complain repeatedly..Its all out in one post! :-)
Ok back to work..i am done :)
