Hi everyone.
So so so sorry for the uodate after ages. Was caught up in a whole lot of work. Owing to this dirty, stretched track I wrote an update that I am sure you all will enjoy. It's Raman VS Shagun all the way now! Hope you all enjoy!
Recap:
Ruhi's innumerable questions and answers to her own questions brought about a big smile on Ishita's face and 2000 kms away, right behind Ruhi, tucked away in darkness, it brought a big smile on her papa's face too. For the first time in 16 days he smiled, a genuine, heart-warming gooey smile.
----------------------Chapter 4: In your shadows-----------------------------------
16 Days back:
The three hour meeting had made him frustrated and extremely agitated, his mind kept wavering and going back to his home, where his family was tucked away in safety. Something was wrong. As the three hour emergency meeting ended, he could hear the clock strike 5 am. He had missed out on one more day with his family because of his work. As everyone left the room, he could feel an integral part of him leaving him. For the first time in 6 years since Shagun had left him, he couldn't get hold of his emotions. He could sense something wrong happening.
After those 16 days also the feeling had never left him. The feeling of emptiness, the feeling of his loneliness had never left him since that meeting. That dreaded day when Ishita has stepped out from his life, leaving him alone, and incomplete. Even though deep, down in the lock down of his beating heart he knew her decision was correct. There was just that much a woman could take, and Ishita since day 1 had taken all the wound inflicted on her without a word. Somewhere where his brain was angry, annoyed and frustrated at Ishita, his heart knew : She was right; HE WAS WRONG.
Present:
Raman retreated from the shadows of his room and stepped into the light of his room. Ruhi had now silently kept the phone were it was and was leaving the room. Raman scooped her into his arms and nuzzled his nose in her hair, making Ruhi chuckle loudly.
"Papa, kya hua aap Bahut good good mood mein ho"
"Papa jab bhi Ruhi ke saath hote hai Woh good mood mein hi hote hai"
"Rooh Aaj aap mere saath so jaao... Please"
"Awww papa aapko Ishima ki yaad aa Rahi hai"
Raman made a cute face and nuzzled her chotuu baby again. Time had made him realize that the love he craved from his brat Adi, lay right in front of his eyes in the tender heart that Ruhi had. Protected and secured by Ishita's never-ending love and care. The last few days had made him realize what his family and he couldn't see. Blinded by the love of their Ghar aka Chirag as Toshiji called it, Adi and his conniving mother had systematically tried to bring his entire life down and succeeded at it. Ishita had left him.
Today when he had caught Ruhi sharing the small nuances of her life with her Ishima, he had realized that his daughter was as strong as he was weak. The two most important people in life had chosen to hurt their heart to make him happy. The thought had pierced his heart but his respect for Ishita grew manifold. She had let Ruhi be here so that he could be protected and he knew how much that would have killed the both of them! Raman always knew the both would always be in touch. And today had just made hi realise that these two people made up his whole world. His entire existence and a sense of happiness crept in him seeing them talk to each other. He knew his daughter would protect both their hearts with her love. Such a small shoulder and such a huge responsibility. But he knew only she had the power to do this. Their ROOH, Ishita and Raman's daughter - Ruhi.
His reverie was broken by Ruhi's cute little fingers on his stubble. When she quietly said,
"But papa, Aaj kal toh sirf Adi bhaiyaa aapke saath sote hai! Phir mein kaise..."
The soft whisper, the round tear-filled eyes all told him how much that gesture of his had heart Ruhi. Raman had given in to Adi's demands of letting him and his mom sleep in the room with him. While Ruhi and Ishita slept in Ruhi's room. That had been the last nail in the coffin after which he could never look into their eyes again. He knew he could never heal the hurt. His heart knew he did wrong and his conscience never let him sleep. Breathing was difficult as his soul tore into pieces.
"Nahi Ruhi... Nahi Aaj se papa sirf aapke saath soyenge! Promise."
Raman had not only made a vow to his Ruhi but a vow to himself to make everything correct. To right every wrong that had made his Ishita away from him. It was time to be Ravan Kumar Bhalla and get his Jhaansi Ki Rani back.
As Ruhi left, Raman proceeded down to start with the first step of his plan.
His home didn't feel like his own and there was no way he was going to be mute now, for the love his son!
Shagun and his social butterflies danced to the tunes of some new English number, where as Adi and his friends were engrossed in playing games. He stepped in and promptly switched off he music.
Shagun stood stunned for a moment and Adi came and stood next to his mother in silent support.
"stop all this nonsense. Shagun kiski permission se tumne Yeh Sab tamasha bulaya hai?"
Raman's angry voice brought all the Bhalla's out of their room as they came and stood next to him.
Shagun was dumb founded, she opened her mouth to reply when Raman stopped her once again.
"Yeh tumhara Ghar nahi hai jo Tum yaha apni manmaaani kar sakti ho! This is my house aur Tum yaha ki mehmaan ho. Mehmaan ki tarah Raho"
Adi moved forward and tried stopping his dad, "Dad Yeh aap kya keh rahe ho? Shagun mumma iss Ghar ki malkin hai. She is your wife, I am your son then obviously we can do what we want in this house. How can you talk to my mom like that?"
"Adi tu mera beta hai aur Hamesha rahega, but Shagun is not my wife. My wife is Ishita. Iss Ghar ki bahu and malkin. So stop this nonsense and get out all of you!
"Raman how dare you insult my friends,Tum toh Adi se Bahut pyaar karte ho na? Meine yeh Sab Adi ke liye hi organize kiya hai."
" Oh really Shagun? Tumne Adi ke liye party organize ki with your friends and drinks and games when you know his exams are starting from tomorrow?"
Shagun didn't have words for a minute, when she pouted and pat came the reply from her small -little brain, " Oh come on Raman. Please Adi is just 12 years old. Exams aren't that important to him right now. I just wanted him to enjoy."
She stepped towards him, held his hand and used that one weapon which had helped her win over Ishita. " Adi mentally disturbed hai, the fun filled mahol helps him better na. Aur Tum toh Adi se Bahut pyaar karte ho, then come on stop all this and party with us."
She took Raman by hand and pulled him in. With a sharp jerk, raman let go off her hand and used his thunderous voice to put his foot down, "Get out all of you. Right now before I have to kick you out. Adi get back to your room right away and stay there. "
Adi retreated. He was scared, he had never seen this side of Raman and he quietly stepped out of the living room into his room.
Shagun was furious. She huffed and she puffed and once again used her weapon- Adi.
"Mummyji yeh Raman ne kya Kiya. Kitni mushkil se mera baccha khush tha. He has been able to breathe freely after that Ishita left. And now? Raman what have you done? Don't you love your son? How dare you insult my friends and spoil my party. After so long I had thrown a party. I spent 5 Lakhs on organizing it."
Everybody noticed how shagun's rant from Adi had conveniently shifted to herself and this proved how much she cared about Adi.
Her hollow love for her son was out in the open, and all Raman could do was smile.
"Shagun Kitni asaani se tumne yeh soch liya that this is your house, your money, your family, your husband. Actually tumhari chottu se brain mein Itna hi working matter hoga. Anyway Shagun all I want to say is mein Bahut Jaldi Adi ki aankhon se tumhari Jhuthe pyaar ka parda Utha doonga. He will see how much you love him and how much you love yourself. So Shagun start packing your bags because your time is up!"
With this Raman turned and left a fuming Shagun to herself. Romi couldn't help but chuckle at Shagun and her halat and then Bhalla family had a good laugh before they retreated too.
