Here I am back with the last part of the update as promised. I am not sure if this is what you guys expected from me but this is what I felt would be more realistic, at least according to me. Opinions differ. I hope to hear from all of you. I am open to criticisms. Looking forward to your opinion and they mean a lot to me. Thanks for the amazing response you people gave for the first part of this TS. ISHRA TS: WE RIDE HOME TOGETHER
FINAL PART
Raman: Ishitha not in front of him. Let's not argue now. I have all the time for your lecture in my life but let's get rid of the problem in hand.
Ishitha: What is the problem here? It was Mihir who wanted me to support him and I will do that for him anywhere and in front of anyone. As far as Shagun is concerned, if she happens to be his sister biologically then I am his by Rituals and promises. Certain relationships do not start with blood. Similar to my relation with Ruhi. Plus Adi has never considered me even as Ruhi's mother and has gone to the extent of hurting our Ruhi. He took a couple of steps forward and cupped her face.
Raman: This woman is ruining his life Ishitha. He needs you. I agree he has done everything only to hurt you but to change all of this and to see him as a 12 year old you need to be his Ishima. Saghi maa se bhadkar ho tum. He needs to get closer to you and I am doing everything in my hands for it. He looked in to her eyes which stared at him with no emotion.
Ishitha: What have you tried Raman? Serve him whenever he is hungry, bear the insults he throws at me? In all of this, did you even for a moment think about our daughter? He has tried to turn her against me. I am proud to have Ruhi, she is the only one who stood for me and will stand for me. I am scared Raman. I am scared that after all this even if he returns to you back, I might start hating him and loose both you and Ruhi. She removed his hands and clutched on to his collar. Are you ok with this Raman? You only want your son right? I will do this for you but will you be able to stop Shagun from interfering in our lives? Answer me Raman and let his collar free.
He stood stunned after seeing this side of hers. He knew all about her lectures but here she was talking about her insecurities. Her darkest of fears about her relationship with Ruhi. He deeply remorsed the fact that he never featured anywhere in this. She was broke and it was now he felt that he was the reason again. Till date the women did not mind sharing any of his pain and today she was hurt to a point of no return. He did not hesitate for a second to get Ishitha apologize to a 12 year old boy and to the women who did not deserve any of this goodness. This women in front of him did not care about her special night he had arranged for him but had reached his ex-wife and son the minute they received the call. She even sacrificed her bedroom for the two of them. Which woman on earth was capable of all this except her. But what did he do. Before he could even speak up, he heard her speak.
Ishitha: Shagun, Adi.. Mujhse galathi hogayi hai. I am Sorry and she walked out of the house without waiting for any of their answers. He kept looking at the door. A sudden cold wind like feeling blew through his soul. He needed her for assurance but she was gone.
She reached home in no time, ran in to the washroom and bolted the doors tight. She turned open the shower and stood underneath. All she wanted was to soak herself in cold water. Why do you let me down every time in front of Adi? Why do you shy away from accepting your relationship with me? His mother never backed from accepting her live in relationship with Ashok for six long years. We are legally married and the legal parents of Ruhi. Why are you not able to Raman? How much more time do you need to forgo your past and accept your present and future?
Other hand Raman left with Adi and Shagun but could not believe he was driving down the two of them again without her. In some time, they reached home only to find a calm house. He could hear his parent's voice but where was she. He rushed to their room and found her bag thrown and cell phone broken. Where was she?
Ishitha .. Ishitha.. Ishitha. He searched for her all over the house and finally remembered seeing their bathroom door closed. He rushed to his room and banged on to the doors hard and fast. A drenched Ishitha opened the door calmly only to face her worried husband.
Raman: Tum teek tho ho na ?
Ishitha: Mujhe kya hoga. Aapko kuch chahiyae ?
Raman: Change yourself Ishitha. Tum puri tara bheeg chuki ho. We will talk about the rest later.
She locked again and told herself that she will not cry again but face everything. Once she stepped, he made her sit on the bed near him and held her hands together and spoke I need to talk about us and Adi.
Ishitha: What more is left? I thought I apologised to them.
Raman: One minute Ishitha. She raised her hand to stop him and spoke I have a simple request, please let Adi know that in no way he shares any of this with Ruhi. She will be broken that her father does not care for her and her Ishima. We love each other a lot but you are scared to express it again. I will do whatever is in my hands to get you close to Adi but never ask me to stay away from you. I will not be able to Raman and a fresh set of tears made way down her face.
He did the most spontaneous thing of taking her in a side hug and let her cry her pain that he had caused again. He felt like kicking himself hard. This obsession was killing him again. It was she who took care of Adi's future. How could he repeat the mistake again? He wanted her to be his support and this issue was nowhere near Adi's concern. It was a conversation between two ladies. How could he be so blind and fall in to the same trap. He had wounded another innocent person blindly. How much did he owe these two people? The more he hurt them the more they loved him in return. He tried rectifying the same mistake in the past but again he lost control. He lost as a father and as a husband again. Did he even deserve these two? Even if he tried distancing himself from the two innocent souls they came even closer to him. These were the two angels who rescued his broken soul a year back and it was time to repay all of it. He moved her from his hold and wiped his tears. He made a silent promise to rectify all of it by today. If that decision keeps him away from his son, yes he will. Rest of the day was a silent affair.
The whole family geared themselves for Lohri. Ruhi decided to get herself dressed in a pavadai (south Indian style) to cheer her Ishima up. Ishitha dressed herself in a suit, plaited her hair and looked like
a proper Punjabi for Ruhi. This was planned long before all of this could take place. Ishitha sighed at her situation and walked down the stairs along with Ruhi. All had gathered at the Bhallas for celebrating Lohri. There was a cheerful Adi and a Ruhi who was cheerful only around her Ishima. Raman gathered everyone's attention and called out to Adi who came and stood near him. He then called on to Ishitha who hesitated to come near him after seeing a watchful Adi's eyes which spewed hatred. But Raman was not someone to give up this time. He held her by her wrist and made her stand to his right. All looked at him keenly and he found Adi backing himself from his place near the couple. It was when Raman spoke I asked you to stand here Adi which means you stand here.
Aditya: How dare you order me to stand in the place as same as this woman my step mother and stressed on the last word.
Shagun: Adi, I warned you earlier that you are not talking against your dad.
Raman: Shagun, kamal ho tum. Adi is not only speaking against me but also insulting my wife who is way more than elder to him. More than my wife, she is Ruhi's Ishima. Genetically your daughter but possess all the qualities of her Ishima. He held on to his wife's hands which did not go well with both Shagun and Aditya. You were right Ishitha certain relationships are far beyond blood and genes. One such is yours with Ruhi.
Mrs. Bhalla: Puttar cho do na, tyohar ka din hai. Baad me yeh sab ke baraein mein hum baath karaengae. Adi bhi aaya hai iss ghar mein itni saalon ke baad.
Raman: Nahi ma. All of this can wait. Ishitha I had vowed to stand with you come may what but I broke them. My love for Adi made me blind again. Whatever happened was between two elders and I should have not let Adi to interfere in the first place. My fear of losing him took the worst of me and I failed you again. My broken past affected you again and I was the reason for it. Without protecting you I stood against you. You are my wife, Ruhi's Ishima and this should have been made clear. Somewhere I took advantage of your goodness and failed to look at the big picture. Please forgive me Ishitha. Shecontinued to stare in to his eyes, not having any words for all of this. He looked at Aditya and spoke, you had the will power and heart to accept Ashok as your father and guardian then you must equally accept Ishitha in the same way. If you cannot accept anyone else as your mother other than Shagun then get this clear, Ruhi cannot imagine Shagun as her mother. It would be the best for you if you can come in terms with this reality soon. As a father and mother both of us meaning myself and Ishitha will be there to support you and placed a hand on his shoulder and held Ishithas hand tightly on the other side.
Shagun: For god sake, my son is not well please try to be lenient with him if you cannot care for him.
Raman: You need not teach me how to be a father.
Ishitha: Shagun, I apologized and stayed mum till now which does not mean you can accuse my husband. Regretful Raman's eyes met a proud Ishitha's eyes. Tears shone bright in their eyes and both immediately turned their face sideward and wiped the tear which threatened to fall down. He is the best father any child can have and a best husband any woman can have and their eyes met again.
Aditya: Are you teaching my mother how to behave? This is my house and so it belongs to my mother.
Raman: Chup Adi. Not a word more. Apologize to Ishitha right now. His son looked at him accusingly. Now... And mean your apology.
Aditya: I... I am sorry and he turned to leave from the place. Raman held him by his wrist,
Raman: You are in my house, plus you are going to address her as Ishitha Aunty if you are not comfortable with Ishima. Stay here and be a part of the Lohri function.
Mrs. Bhalla: jaanae do usse.
Raman: Not more ma, more than your grandson he is my son. He will have to earn his rights to call this his house from now on. Shagun I have snatched his rights of being his guardian while you were away. I will soon be applying for his custody and make him Ishitha's son before you can even think again. He moved towards Ruhi and sat on his knees, Will you please forgive me beta? I have been very ignorant with you over the past few weeks and lost control over his tears.
Ruhi: Aap world's ki best papa ho and I love you the most in this world. She wiped the tears from his face with her tiny hands and kissed both his cheeks. Both looked at Ishitha who stood looking at them smiling with her eyes full.
Mr. Bhalla cleared his throat and reminded them about the impending Lohri function. All walked out including Shagun and Aditya. They had no choice but listen to Raman at the end of the day. Raman carried Ruhi in arms and held Ishitha by her shoulders for the pheres around the holi fire. He took the first step and looked at her smiling face. She whispered in to his ears "Aur aap world's ki best husband ho", he chuckled loud and whispered in to her ears Mauke par chauke mat maro, raath abhi bhi baaki hai and gave his killer wink only to receive a nudge from her.
"You may not remember the time you let me go first.
Or the time you dropped back to tell me it wasn't that far to go.
Or the time you waited at the crossroads for me to catch up.
You may not remember any of those, but I do and this is what I have to say to
you:
Today, no matter what it takes,
we ride home together side in return."
