Did he just say that?
"Haan!?" I was confused, flabbergasted, shocked, surprised...anymore adjectives to explain my condition? I don't remember. He again read my thoughts?! Is he a mind-reader?
"Aur mai Mind-reader bhi nahi hun"
Again? He definitely has got some superpower or the 7th sense as I mentioned. Beware Ishita Iyer!
"Suna hai logon me 6th sense hota hai. Tumhare paas 7th sense hai kya?" I voiced my doubt. I had to find out. 2 discoveries at a time. 1#Does he have a 7th sense? 2#Is there something called 7th sense? I guess the second question should come first. However right now answer to the first question is my priority.
"7th sense!?" He was visibly confused or ACTING confused!? "Patha nahi! Haan magar ek sense hai jo tum me nahi hai" he said seriously. That serious look on his face intrigued me to know what it was.
"Kya?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Common Sense" he said throwing his hands in the air as if it was obvious.
Of course it is Common Sense, you dumbo. And he is right! You don't have common sense. Else you would have known he was going to insult your intelligence with his annoying one-liners.
"Itni der se tumhe observe kar raha hun. Itna common sense to hai mujhme ke bata sakun tum kya soch rahi ho" he smirked.
"To tumhe ye bhi patha chalna chahye ki mujhe tumhare sathwaqt guzarne me koi interest nahi hai" I smirked as if we were having a 'Who Smirks More Challenge'. I know to give it back Mr.
"Achha? Magar tumhari body language to kuch aur keh rahi hai" he slightly pressed my hand that was in his.
Ishitaaa! What's wrong with your 200GB memory? How could you forget that you have willingly placed your hands in his. Angered...no embarassed...no agitated...no defeated... (yet another revelation! English Pro Ishita Iyer doesnot know how to express her emotions) whatever I was feeling, I just tried to pull my hands away from his hold. But I couldn't. Not because my mind had stopped taking commands yet again, but because this annoying handsome Stranger was tightening the hold. Woah! I promoted him from annoying to annoying HANDSOME?
I felt his grip tightening and found his warm breath lingering on my ears and my mind tried to register the ever so husky whisper "Mai jiska hath thaamta hun use itni asani se jane nahi detha."
Did he only mean what was apparent or did he want to say that he has held my hands forever?
He must have read my thoughts again or used his 7th sense or maybehis common sense, the next few words broke all my confusion,
"Chaar kadam chalne ka waada hai, chaar kadam tak tumhara sath dunga"
Itjust broke my confusion or did I feel the breaking of something else too that was hiding behind my heaving chest? That's called HEART Ishita my conscience told me. Heartbreak you mean? You must be kidding!I told my conscience.
"Chalein? Aisa na ho 4 ghante yahin pe nikal jayein"
"Hmmm" I was unable to come up with a coherent reply. I just nodded to him and agreed to move.
"Ek minute! Mai ye bags safety lock me rakh kar ata hun." He picked his and my bags and started to move.
Suddenly the Jagga Jasoos in me gave a knock. "Ek minute!" I blocked his way "Ab mujhe patha chala tum tabse kyunmere peeche pade ho. Yahi irada tha na tumhara? Chori karne aye ho na?"
"What?"
"Bhole banne ka natak mat karo. Mai sab samajti hi hun. Akeli ladki ko dekh kar fayda utha rahe the. Mujhe bholi bhali mat samajhna. Mujhe patha hai ki tumhari gandi nazar mere bag par thi. Mai..."
"Hold on! Hold on! My turn to talk. Time for clarifications Miss Lecture Queen! 1#Mai chor nahi hun 2#Mai tumhe bilkul bhi bholi bhali nahi samajhta 3#Mai akeli ladkiyon ka fayda nahi uthaatha and most importantly 4#Agar gandi nazar dalni hi hothi to mai bag par nahi kisi aur cheez pe dalta" SMIRK!?
I suddenly became conscious of my body. I quickly covered my bosom with my dupatta and gave him a deadly glare.
"Nahi mujhe tumhare dupatte me koi interest nahi. Mai to tumhare gale me chamak rahe gold chain ki bath kar raha tha. Iski value tumhari bag me padi cheezon se zyada hongi na?" SMIRK AGAIN!? He was clearly winning the smirking challenge.
My mind was not working. Ishita! First thing you do after reaching Delhi is meet a Neurologist. Lage hathon Psychiatrist ki appointment bhi book kara lo.🤢
Seeing no reaction from me, he spoke up "Agar abhi bhi convinced nahi ho to, ek kam karo, tum khud in bags ko safety lock me rakh aao" I agreed without arguing.
Just as I carried his & mine bags, I heard him say, "Aur haan! Tumapni GANDI nazar in bags pe ya in bags ke malik pe bhi daal sakti ho. Mai bura nahi manunga"
Urghhh...Was it necessary to add that? I hate strangers even more from this point. Really Ishita???? 'Huff! As I already mentioned my mind has stopped working. I can't think of a reply now' I decided, as I walked with the bags to the safety lock.
I returned to find waiting for me near the entrance with a breathtaking smile. Miku! Your Akka seems to like this not so tall, not at all dark & strikingly handsome STRANGER!
"Aise na dekho! Kahin pyar na hojaye!"
