CHAPTER FOUR

Ishita was care freely cooking in the kitchen when she heard someone come in from the back door

'Uuuffooo you are the most forgetful person u have ever met. What did you forget?'' She said

'Oh I don't think I forgot anything.'' Raman replied

To say Ishita was shocked was an understatement. She was not expecting him to be here this early. 'Why the hell did he always have to be early'' she thought to herself.

She started to fidget as she realized that her veil was not with her and she had actually left it in her room. She thought of running out but that wouldn't work. She could feel him coming closer to her and she started freaking out.

'Do not move any closer please.'' She said

'What is it are you okay?'' he asked genuinely concerned

'Please stop right there.'' She replied

'What is it? I just wanted a glass of water.'' He replied

'I will get it for you go sit down in the other room.'' She said

Raman could not understand what was happening. He saw her getting uncomfortable every time he took a step forward and couldn't fathom what the reason was. When he finally made it to the fridge, she was standing in the corner of the room facing the wall while holding her face.

He could hear silent sobs coming from her and he felt a part of him dying inside. He was not sure what made her so upset until her saw her hold her face like she wanted the wall to swallow her. She was so uncomfortable and so scared as she was shacking every time he got forward.

He put two and two together and realized that she did not have her veil with her. He removed the scarf he was having around his neck and said

'Put out your hand''

'Please just go away.'' She replied still crying

'Just put your hand I will give you my scarf. I will keep my eyes closed and you will wear the scarf, it will work as your veil. I promise I won't look'' He replied

She first hesitated at first but then finally gave in and put out her and took the scarf from his hand. She quickly put the scarf around her face only leaving her eyes and she finally turned around.

Ishita saw he had actually kept his word and his eyes were closed. She finally took him his features properly without stealing glances like she always did.

He was putting on a T-shirt and Jeans so casual yet so killer at the same time. His T-Shirt was not so tight yet it displayed his firmly fit frame built like a knight's. Her eyes slipped down to see his strong perfectly symmetric jaw line and his slightly full lips the kind that end in a cute little smirk at the corners as she wondered what it would feel like having her lips on his. She was still in fantasy land when she heard him say

'Miss Ishita are you done?''

'Uhhh Yeah I am.'' She replied

'Can I open my eyes now?'' he asked

'Yes you can.'' She replied

He opened his eyes and could see she had covered her face only leaving her eyes to be seen. Her eyes were teary but he could see they were absolutely gorgeous.

'Your okay now?'' he asked

'Yes thank you very much.'' She replied

Raman watched as he noticed she was looking everywhere at him. He figured she must be feeling embarrassed about the whole ordeal and wanted to make her feel comfortable

'Look I didn't want to make you cry or anything but by the time I figured out what the problem was you had already started crying and also your room is outside the house so...'' Raman said as he got interrupted by Ishita

'No it is okay. I understand.''

'This custom means so much to you doesn't it?'' Raman asked

'Custom? Am not sure I get you.'' Ishita replied

'You know the whole veil until marriage thing. That is why you wear the veil isn't it.'' Raman asked surprised at her question

'Oh Yeah right. That is it.'' She replied as she turned around and continued her preparations for dinner

'You can go to the living room and wait there while I prepare for dinner'' she added

Raman didn't understand why she always tried to get rid of him every chance she got. Today he was not going to let her win.

'Why do you always try to get rid of me every chance you get? Did I do something wrong??'' he asked

'What?'' Ishita replied quite surprised at his question

'I mean Every time you and I are in the same room, you do everything in your power to avoid me. So I ask did I do something wrong?'' he asked

'Nahi Sir, I just do not want to disturb you that's all. I didn't mean to make you feel unwelcome.'' She replied apologetically

'Are you sure it is not something else Or do I have an effect on you.'' He asked teasingly

'No Sir it is nothing like that.'' She replied

'So you wouldn't mind if I had a sit here. I could keep you company until you finish cooking.'' He said

'Arre Sir you will get bored just go into the livin...'' but before she could finish he said

'You see, you do not want me here. I knew it you are...''

'Okay Sir fine ' she finally agreed

'Good now that wasn't hard was it? I really am killer company'' he asked teasingly

Ishita just looked at him and smiled thanking God he could not entirely see how excited that made her feel for some reason. She carried the bowl of vegetables she was having and started to look for a knife when she heard him ask

'So tell me about yourself.'' While he came forward and took the bowl form her hand then went back and sat down

'There is nothing to tell really.'' She answered as she walked over to where he was and tried to take the bowl from her

'What do you mean there is nothing to tell? Who is Miss Ishita.'' He asked as he lightly slapped her hand telling her to back off the bowl as he continued chopping the vegetables

Ishita looked at him and just chuckled figuring out that this was a fight she was never going to win. She just walked over to the stove and started preparing the Rice.

'So come one am waiting?'' he said

'Well let's see. I am an only daughter of two amazing parents that I would give up my life for and that's it really'' she replied

'Oh come one there has to be a lot more than just that to you. Come one if someone asked who is Miss Ishita Iyer what would you tell them.'' He asked

'I like being independent, do not like going out so much, do like people you lie to me and I also like keeping to myself.'' She answered

'Why is that? Why do you keep to yourself a lot? How come you do not have many friends come over? In fact except Romi I do not think I have ever seen anyone else come here. And even with Romi I wouldn't call him your friend it's more like an acquaintance'' Said Raman

'I do have friends.'' She responded defensively

'Your parents do not count.'' He added as he handed the bowl back to her

'Okay maybe I do not have so many but I would rather have a few who are true than the many who are just trouble.'' She said

'True I can't fault you there.'' He said smilingly

'So Sir How about you'' She said

Raman noticed that she was slowly getting comfortable with him and for some reason that made him extremely happy and excited

'Well first of all no one calls me Sir as many time as you do.'' He said teasingly

'Oh Sorry Sir.'' She said

'There you go again. Call me Raman. It's short and brief not that hard to pronounce and sexy just like the holder.'' He said teasingly

'Oh okay then. Mr. Raman do you always blow your own trumpet like that.'' She said

'No not really only when am in the company of a girl I want to impress.'' He said winking at her

'Haha you want to impress me. Why on earth would you want to do that?'' she asked genuinely surprised

'Why don't you think your interesting enough or am I so out of my league that I shouldn't even try'' he asked flirtatiously

'I just think once you see the real me you might run for your life.'' She Said

It took a second for her to realize what she had actually told him and didn't even understand why she had told him that. She was starting to access what to say next when she heard him say

'Is that a challenge Miss Ishita?''

'No I didn't say that I just mean that I mean... What are you doing?

As Ishita tried to explain herself out of this fix that she had suddenly walked in when she suddenly saw him come towards her and she started getting uncomfortable, she tried to move backwards but to no avail he just kept coming closer. Then a lot of things kept going through her mind what is happening, what is he doing what is he going to do to me, is he going to...?
