Ruhi's custody case has placed Raman in a situation of second thoughts. He considers himself as the main reason for Ishita's unhappiness. Now since he has realized his love for his wife, Raman wants her to be happy anyhow. So to bring a smile on Ishita's face, Raman decides to move out of her life. Raman believes that his distance with his dearest wife will keep her happy and smiling.

After Ishita wins Ruhi's custody case, Raman calls Neil and asks him to prepare divorce papers. He then meets Mani and asks him to marry Ishita. Mani is infuriated by Raman's request and tells him that Ishita loves Raman and not him. Raman tries to explain Mani that he has never been able to keep her happy so he wants her to marry Mani. Raman tries to be insistent on his statements, but Mani refuses to accept his offer.

On the other hand, Raman tells Ishita that he is going to Singapore for some business deal and asks her to pack his bags. But, Ishita, unaware that Raman wants to move out of her life, is planning to confess her feelings to her husband. Ishita calls Mani and also expresses her feelings for Raman. This conversation is overheard by Raman and he quickly leaves before his mind changes.

Since Raman has left, Ishita calls him to meet her before leaving for Singapore. Raman gives an excuse of meeting Adi and disconnects the call. Raman has realized why Ishita called him and now is looking for reasons to avoid her. Somewhere inside, he knows that he would not be able to distance himself from his lovely wife once she confesses her feelings for him. Neel tries to convince Raman to change his mind about divorcing Ishita, but Raman is adamant. He then signs the divorce papers with a heavy heart and asks Neel to handover the papers to Ishita only after he has left.
