Payal and Doc .. This is totally inspired by your posts... I watched the episode again .. Skipped through the 'unwanted parts' to land on that scene of unconditional support ... And then I googled and found the episode where Ishita was getting trapped by Param's web and Raman said 'how does Param know you and I have no relation?' See what you two did to me...? That's why I love the posts in this thread...

Oh My Gan!!! This is so beautiful!!! Their expressions!! Especially Ishita's says it all!!

There was a time when he hung his head unable to look her in the eye as he spoke of their relation openly making her cry pleadingly!

And then there is this day when he doesn't even need to look at her to stand up for their relation! Once again there are tears in her eyes but these are of relief and content! Today he holds his head high as he explains what she is to everyone around!!!

Mihika said, 'because last time when I mentioned Ashok and Shagun it created problems between you two'. I noticed a sudden regret and almost shame that took over Raman and Ishita, all of a sudden their banter and their fights were affecting others in the family. Ruhi had said the same thing before when Raman had asked,'why didn't you tell me people were troubling you at school?', and Ruhi had replied, 'because you and Ishimaa were fighting all the time'. Today Raman and Ihita realized that their personal equation affects a lot of people around them and now how they decide to take this relationship forward will have to lot of repercussions not just for them but for all the delicate relationships around them.

Another thing that touched me today was Raman's reaction when Shagun said to Ishita, 'He isn't yours, everyone knows the reality of your marriage.' Raman and Ishita's relationship was once again open for everyone to see and comment but no one possessed the eyes that could show them the real depth of their marriage. Their love is fragile and it was out in the open what was telling for me was that in spite of its fragility it didn't break, it only strengthened.

I made a character study of Shagun in my Denial thy name is Shagun post (Link ) on the day she walked in on Ashok in their bedroom with another woman. Both that time and this time also .. Her first instinct was that she didn't trust Ashok and wanted to catch him.in the act.. . And both the times she catches him and throws a hissy fit but the minute he extends one excuse she grabs onto that . Why? Is she stupid? No, because it fits in to her plan. She claims continuously of Ashok and her loving each other... She claims Ashok loves her son Adi but then turns around and tries to get a prenup to secure her son's future. Because that's the truth at the end of all the ' I dont believe it' or 'Ashok aur main Ek duje Se pyar kadte hain' .. The fact she deep in her mind has no trust on him. But she can overlook everything just for the sake of achieving what she wants: to be Mrs. Ashok khanna . So anything that comes in her path is considerd by her a nuisance, an annoyance and conspiracy by others against her. A desperate and delusional woman who cares more about her selfish creature comforts than her self-respect/self-esteem or the emotional atyachar she's propogating against Adi, the son she claims to love. Hope Adi sees her true face sooner rather than later. Ruhi, the lucky darling was spared from the clutches of such a self-absorbed mother. Parenting is the most unselfish role there is, and Shagun can't see beyond her own self-interests six years after she devastated Raman and left him and her baby girl of six months to pick up the pieces. Sadly, there are more women like Shagun today who give two cents about wrecking other people's lives.😕

So though Mihika was stupid for miscalculating her opponent... Shagun is not. She knows what she's getting and denial works for her .. As it helps achieve her ultimate goal: her climb in the ladder of social status...she left Raman for that 6 years back. And her pursuit still continues.

Shagun has lost her mind...she gone cuckooo...all to become Mrs. Ashok Khanna.

Beautfiul edit, Gan! I'm glad that this is the scene your mind went to, as the same scene was playing in my head when I was updating my post today.Then, he stood a silent spectator...today, he's giving her her due.

Here's what I originally wrote in my post but then deleted cause I thought I was going off on a tangent:

We've seen him stand a silent spectator at another such moment...when the validity of their relationship was questioned, when her character was questioned. Then, when she was looking to him for his trust and support, he himself had questioned her...today, she didn't have to ask it of him.

THANK YOU for this...I was dwelling in Adi's plight again, and you've just lifted my spirits with this. How far they've come...how far they'll go - for, and with each other. 😳
