I unfortunately made the mistake this morning of watching both Friday's and Saturday's episodes back-to-back online. Needless to say that it was nothing less than torture. But, just as you did for your musings, I will forget that the last two episodes even happened. Torture! Forget it ever happened, we are gonna pull a Bush here and deny that torture ever existed as part of our military practice Denial is sometimes best so last 2 episodes never happened š
Firstly a hats off and a deep bow to both of you wonderful ladies for the collage and analysis...they fit together so seamlessly. I literally stared at the collage for a solid five minutes before I even scrolled down to read the analysis ( KP my love...tum aisa kyun karte ho? Na chaahte hue bhi main tum par fida ho hi jaati hoon har baar). And it seems as though those words by Gulzar sahab were just made for Raman's current turmoil. Doc, your analysis of Raman's guilt is spot on.
I'm going to be optimistic here and "try" to give a positive spin on this guilt track to add onto what you have already said. Doc, if you remember, we had a discussion some time ago about Shagun's Raman and Ishita's Raman (on your Raman vs Raman post from Oct 25). I had said in my post that "Ishita's Raman will take a few hundred, possibly thousand, episodes to overcome Shagun's Raman." I think I may have spoken too soon because this guilt track appears to be the beginning of the journey for the emergence of Ishita's Raman. OMG you remembered an old post of mine!
I distinctly remember that conversation of ours and funny that you bring it up here because while typing this I wanted to bring out the difference between Ishita and Shagun's Raman but it was getting too wordy so i dropped the idea but I am so glad you brought this important distinction out and made it relevant with puttar's guilt š
Ishita's Raman is feeling guilty, but it is Shagun's Raman that is the source of this emotion. It was Shagun's Raman that "failed" in love because he was betrayed by the woman whom he loved more than himself. It was Shagun's Raman that "failed" in marriage because he could only watch as his life was torn apart by his divorce. It was Shagun's Raman that "failed" in family because he couldn't bear the thought that his son hated him and he was never able to give love to his daughter who reminded him too much of his "failed" love and marriage. Exactly! This man is different, Ishita's Raman is a new being, a secure and loved being! All he needs is a warm hug and reassurance, someone to hold his hand, to remind him he isn't alone!
In the words of Coco Chanel, "Guilt is perhaps the most painful companion of death."
The guilt that he is feeling right now will turn out to be the painful companion of death for Shagun's Raman. Ishita will not let her Raman go away from her so easily. Ishita's Raman will have to realize his worth and find his answers by moving away from the shades of his past and looking at the colors of his present. Ishita's Raman will have to realize that he is successful in love, marriage, and family, all the things that Shagun's Raman "failed" in.
I'm going to end with some lines that popped into my mind while staring at Gan's collage.
Tanha khada zindagi ke har mod par
Jeena seekh chukka tha andhere ko lekar
Berang din aur kaali raatein
Manzoor thi mujhe voh dard bhari yaadein
Kyun mitaana chahti hai yeh andhera
Humesha bana rahega yeh meri zindagi ka pehra
Chaaron taraf ki yeh kaali tanhayi
Jeetne nahin degi tujhe teri rang ki ladayi
Voh pyaar kaisa jo sirf aansoo de
Mera koi haq nahin raha hai tujh pe
Tere door jaane se mera andhera laut aayega
Par teri zindagi ka suraj toh vapis aa jaayega
Jee loonga phirse uss andhere mein
Le le ke subki, le le ke aahatein
Tu chali jaa mujhse door
Aakhir bas teri khushi hi hai ab mera fitoor.
I love G's collages have become inspiration for many on the forum to bring their inner poet to life! Lovely Nivi, you know me and my immense love for poetry...the last line and the word fitoor...I mean I am in love with the word fitoor and they way you used it, mind blown!
