Thank you, for the beautiful collage (despite the frustration).Thank you, for allowing this space so that we can all vent.I literally only watched the last, what was it, a minute and thirty seconds today? If that? When I first saw the promos for this show, I knew this was one I wanted to watch (which is a big deal since I do not watch Indian television) because, true to word, when it began, it was indeed a 'nayi soch'.I was won over by the idea of a single father and a mature, independent, level-headed girl falling in love with his daughter - loving her like her own.The show started logically, it was mature, and fresh. And while, I do appreciate the social messages, and the way they've tackled some of the issues such a dysfunctional family faces (the Raman-Adi scene being case in point), it can't go unnoticed that the show has lost the original charm, especially after the time-slot change. Now the story seems inconsistent, illogical, and cliched.I wouldn't even mind the lack of Raman-Ishita (and Ruhi who has literally been nonexistent in the story line for the past few weeks), if the supporting characters hadn't been reduced to being cliched and impractical. It cannot be denied that there are moments of sheer brilliance in the writing, but even those moments get lost in the midst of all the unnecessary, over-the-top drama. For weeks now, I have been fast-forwarding any scene that was not Raman-Ishita +/- the kids.It simply does not make sense that strong, independent, intelligent characters have been reduced to self-sacrificing, helpless morons. Let's face it, real life doesn't work like that...and you'e not fooling anyone. What I fail to understand is, as you said, why the need for cheap tricks when the writing has always been so strong. It would make sense to change the time slot, character sketches and plot if the show wasn't doing well, but that was not the case. This show has always had an incredible fan-base, and was breaking all kinds of records at the 11 PM slot - which was not at all expected.I guess they let the fans appreciation and overwhelming support get to their head...and, to show their gratitude, decided they should slowly take away every element of the show which drew us in in the first place.'Nayi Soch' indeed!***Now, to end this on a positive note, for the miniscule IshRa scene we got today...and for your beautiful edit:"Love is that condition in which the happiness of the other person is essential to your own."- Robert A. Heinlein.Love,
P
