LOVE ALWAYS CURES
They stepped to their room...it was too late. His mother told him that their daughter had slept just now. She was weeping till then. They were asked to go and take rest. Everyone's eyes were of tears except hers'.
He paced slowly behind her to the room and closed the door behind them. He had nothing to tell. Din't know what to start and where to start. He looked at her. After entering the room, she went towards the wardrobe to take her night clothes. His eyes wandered with guilty...guilty of his son's fault.
She turned towards him, gave a smile and again turned to take her dress. That made his eyes welled up. He moved towards her, stood behind her. She has to lighten the situation, she thought.
"Ishita", only that came from his mouth. In a fraction of minute, she turned towards him. He couldn't meet her eyes. She understood what makes him this guilty stricken. She couldn't differentiate this state of his from when he saw her behind the bars. He quickly sorted the problem and took out of the jail. Still the guilt and helplessness covered his face.
"Raman", she called out softly, "everything is fine now", and assured him.
"Ishita", his voice shivered, "am sorry"
"Why should you ever be sorry Raman? It was no one's mistake. Neither yours nor Adi's."
"But Ishita, how could he? He lied... and" he couldn't complete.
"Raman, he is just a child. Just see from his side. Even I too missed it and am feeling guilty for it."
"What Ishita", his tone changed. He wondered where she is now gonna take him.
She turned and kept the night dress into the cupboard itself and again turned to face him. She spoke with a smile placing her hands on his.
"Whatever the reason may be Raman, I scolded his mother. From his point of view, I insulted her to the core. The love for his mother is boundless. For him, no one loves him or wants him other than his mother. Just think about it."
He frowned at her with a glint of surprise in his eyes.
She continued, "This was what Ruhi did when Subbu's mother called me baanj' in pooja's delivery. Your children are alike Raman. They love their mothers."
"So you are telling that what Adi did was correct huh?" suddenly came his reply.
"No,not at all. What he did was wrong, but for him it was correct. Your children are just like you Raman. They don't look right or wrong when it comes to their loved ones." She smiled at him.
He instantly understood that she talked about the accident case. And he again looked away.
"Your son is just like you Raman. He loves his mother. Yes, the lie was wrong. But that was what he was taught. Is that his fault? When comes to children's action, its only parents to be blamed. I see more Raman in him than Shagun. He needs to get the direction thats all."
"Not my son Ishita, our son. I need him to be your's and mine. Like Ruhi is." His eyes looked for an answer from her.
"He is Raman, and always will be." She assured him.
She turned towards the cupboard to take the dress, but suddenly he made her turn towards him. The calmness that she brought in him suddenly fled. Again guilt took the place. His eyes again were filled.
"I don't want you to suffer for my son's deeds Ishita. Always, its you who suffer. I can't take it anymore. He hates me. It is this that makes him to do this to you. And truly, I don't find any solution to this. Tell me, what should I do?"
"Your son Raman? Our son. He is mine too. I know Raman, more than me you are the one who is suffering. But is it a suffering for you when it comes to our son? No na. Then how can I be in suffer? And he loves you. He doesn't hate you. It is only his love for his mother to behave indifferently with you, and not his hate towards you. All you have to do is spent time with him. When he shows irritation, just think he loves in the same way as you...through irritation to everyone, except for Ruhi." She smiled at him.
"Ishita...", this was all he could utter.
He held her palms tightly. Nothing to say, he stood before her. It was also becoming hard for her too. How much she tried to make the situation lightly, he dint allow himself to come from that trance. Silence was all around them. Suddenly two drops of tears tripped down from his eyes. It made her sadder even.
"I don't want to be alone anymore", finally came out from his mouth.
He looked deep into her eyes. Words stuck in her throat. He then suddenly walked away towards the bed and sat in the corner of the bed. His face facing his knees. She slowly registered his words in her mind and walked towards him. Her eyes were filled. She then took his face on her palms and forced him to look towards her. Tear drop brimmed on his eyes. With her thumps she wiped the tears which was about to flow and kissed him in his forehead.
"You are not alone. I want you. I won't leave you alone", she said with tears, looking deep into his eyes.
He hugged her suddenly. That was all he could do. His head resting on her stomach and his hands around her waist. Tears flowed from his eyes. Her saree covering her stomach was all wet by now. She couldn't see him like this. Tears flowed from her eyes too. She pressed him more towards her; her one hand holding his head towards her and her other hand slowly rubbed his back.
"Don't Raman, don't cry. I can't see you like this. Please Raman." She spoke while kissing his hair.
With these words, he tightened his hold on her. As moments passed he became calm. His hold loosened. She slowly parted and again kissed him on his forehead. He then took her hand from his face and entwined with his. She dint know what to do. She looked deep into his eyes. He then slowly began to kiss on her fingertips one by one. She couldn't move away nor she wish to. She couldn't leave him alone anymore. They gave away to each other on that night. Not a word was uttered anymore. Their actions spoke their words. They both needed each other. No one could complete them other that themselves.
When Ishita woke up from the small sleep, she found him clinging to herself. He held her tightly around her waist and his head rested on the crook of her neck. She smiled. She tried to get away from his grip. He was in deep sleep, but that dint make her task easy. She finally managed to sit such that her head rested in the headrest but his hold never left her. He was just sleeping like Ruhi, she thought. She kissed him on his cheeks smiling. She extended her hand and took her phone to check the time. It was 4. She then finally began to take his hands off from her.
"Ishita", he called out "please stay", he pleaded.
"Raman, I need to go to washroom, will come soon. Want to dress also."
He suddenly raised his head towards her. Her upper body was not covered. He smiled at her and kissed her on her neck.
"Go and come soon", he told.
"Ok my hero", she smiled naughtily and got up and walked towards the bathroom after taking the dress to wear.
Within 15 minutes she came towards him, after taking a small bath. She sat on the bed and placed his head on her lap and kissed on his cheeks. His hands suddenly went around her waist and held her tightly.
"Feeling cold Raman?" she asked him.
"Ishita" he spoke while sitting and rested himself on the headrest and holding her towards him. Her head rested on his shoulders.
"hmmm.."
"I wish I would have never met Shagun. Then I could only love you."
She was left speechless. This was what she felt when Ruhi told her that she should have been born in her womb. This father and daughter always made her fail in their love. Tears welled up in her eyes. She looked towards him. He looked at her.
"Ruhi is just like you Raman", this was all she could reply him. He instantly frowned at her questioning what all was she talking about.
She smiled resting her head again to his shoulder and said, "You love me just as Ruhi loves me."
"No, more", quickly came his reply.
Only she could do was laugh. She again kissed him. He brought her to an embrace and kissed her back. Suddenly their door banged. They heard their daughter's call.
"Ishima...Ishima...Ishima"
She suddenly got up asked him to dress up and slowly walked towards the door after switching on the light. While turning towards him she checked out the time on the clock. It was half past six. He quickly dressed up and pushed the dress scattered around under the cot and sat on the bed. When she opened the door, their daughter jumped towards her Ishima and hugged her. She took her in her arms and walked towards him. She continuously kissed her mother on either side of her cheeks. Raman wondered that what made her do like this.
"Ruhi beta..." she called out.
"I love you Ishima. I love you so much. I was really scared yesterday."
"I love you too beta. Why to fear beta? Papa was with me na." She sat on the bed in the same place from where she got up and placed their daughter on her lap and kissed her.
"Yes, I know. Are you ok Ishima?"
"Yes beta, Ishima is perfectly fine."
"I love you so much", her daughter kissed her again.
"I feel defeated", he told her looking at their daughter and at her.
A smiled crept on her lips.
"Its I am who is defeated Raman", she answered him.
He smiled at that comment.
"What Ishima" all came the question from their daughter.
"Nothing beta" telling this she kissed their daughter while her eyes was fixed on him.
