Now before all jump on me saying no Raman is strong character and all hear me out 😳
you can throw your rot tomatoes later, no eggs me vegetarian 😆

I am talking about emotional strength here. This is only 2nd show I am actually watching, before this was Parichay. Is there some trend in daily soap world where Male lead has to be emotionally weaker than female lead? I get it, female are emotionally more mature, can endure more, practical and stronger ! 😡 😆

If looking at Raman-Ishita; well during whole accident track, Raman too acted stupid and hide matters from Ishita. If anyone wants to say not same well there too Raman said he is helping Shagun-spending time as she is mother of his kids. Well Ishita can't conceive and that's why her first love was gone. So for her, that situation sure was very much similar. She was insecure and hurt; we all saw that. Yet she was still able to maintain herself and hold herself good enough !

Now here tables turned, Ishita is acting extra stupid and Raman's old wounds are opening up. He's feeling insecure, hurt and all such - makes sense ! But unlike Ishita, he couldn't even express little bit. Next they will show him getting drunk, sitting on street like a bum 😕

I understand feeling of betrayal and fear of losing loved one and all - but why does male lead has to break into pieces like that? Last show Parichay, another ek show had similar thing. Both male and female lead in bad situation, victimized and all yet male lead was more pathetic than female; emotional stability wise speaking 😕

So to sum it all up, why does daily soap love to portray male lead weaker than female lead? Is it because targeted audience are female? More acceptable for male to be drunk than female? Being a guy I always hated this part hence don't care abt daily soaps much.

Is this plot to show we guys can't do anything without female 😲 😡 😆 😆

Jay, To an extent I understand your point.. well, this is the second show for me too after Parichay.. but to be honest, I find both the male leads very different in both shows. Ok, coming to YHM and your comparison of accident track and this one, I think they are similar with the roles reversed BUT there is a main difference between these two!

During the time of accident track, both Ishita and Raman were NOT in love with each other. They were only friends. I know Ishita did feel insecure then but she was emotionally in a better place then than what Raman is in now. What would Ishita do or feel if she found out Raman is having an affair with Shagun or some other friend of his NOW? I think she will be broken too! Because now she is also in love! She did turn the house upside down when she found out Raman HAD in the past an affair with Sanjana. What would her behavior be like if she found out that he is having an affair NOW, when they are in love?

Raman is now in love with Ishita and according to him Ishita cannot betray him. The feelings of betrayal are stronger for Raman in this track as it is opening up his past wounds and also because he is falling in love again. Now, thanks to Shagun, he feels he is not worthy of being loved! That is a sad situation for anyone to be in. All proofs are leading to show that Ishita is betraying him now because he too felt that she started loving him though both of them did not admit. He wants to throw her out of his heart again as she is emotionally effecting him but this time, he is in love,, it is not so easy. Yes, he will drink tonight and when a man feels that low, I think it is normal in soap world to get drunk.

But for some reason, Ishita is unable to understand this emotion of Raman.. she seems totally oblivious to it even after Raman hinting several times that he is not comfortable with her bestie! All this 'out of character behavior of Ishita' started with the arrival of her bestie! So, throw him out and she will be normal again!😛

Happy Diwali!😃

Well I agree that they tend to Show Male characters as weak n especially in thid case Raman as incapable of doing anything even professionally on his own. 😆

Like Ruhi DNA Ishita got it done out f her Jagga Jasoosi, land deal Ishita saved him, License track Raman gave up presidency but then it was Ishita who gave it back to him, save girl child campaign, N even now he is becoming Asia head not out f his merit but coz Ishita's Best friend Recommemded him n Even Raman bestows the credit on Ishita for his professional achievements.

On one hand glorification of women characters is shown like she does a lot of things for that husband who has never bothered to do anything for her, she is always sacrificing n righteous etc. But they also portray women as weak when they show Ishita silently taking all the horrible taunts from her husband etc, trying to do life threatening Fasts to please in laws. Ishita can fight for anyone even Param n Shagun to give them justice but will never ask for rights as a wife herself, will never fight for herself.

The only Reason I think it is done is coz majority of the audience (TRP) is women n they sympathize with Ishita when she is shown shedding tears over her husbands anger or feel proud when she is shown as someone who fights for her Husband professionally. In all this they tend to make both Male n Female characters as unreal as possible 😆.

We all know that this is a reel drama but even reel drama reflects our Society, so far YHM was doing that - Divorces, divorced kids, custody, intercultural marriages, neighbours problems, middleclass households n their problems, arranged marriages n its problems, heartbreaks n trauma, molestation, workplace sexual harassment, business rivalry etc But now things have become OTT to show Drama.

^^ True that! Females' acts of stupidity are also glorified.. I will not be surprised if Raman apologizes to Ishita for doubting her this time. But then, if they do that, it will be very hard for me to digest! In this situation I would have been baffled if Raman had not doubted Ishita.. because that is reality. But if they somehow twist all this and make him say sorry to her, that would be the most unrealistic thing and then I would say that this track is being tailor-made for the 7:30 audience who are used to glorifying the female lead inspite of her stupidity.

I want Ishita to realize her mistake and apologize to Raman this time rather than calling him insensitive. I don't see his fault and don;t want him to repent about it too much.

I have watched parichay and many other shows and seen in real life too that men are emotionally weak, physically strong, women are emotionally strong , physically weak. just general observation. experience may differ. I will not mind if anyone disagree with me.

its some general i have read even in news papers some authors columns that why men get more heart attacks and women do not get death like that. and general survey was that women generally cry more compared to men, and crying make heart stronger as per I have read. 😆

even new born kid are forced to cry by pinching and beating what I have heard so that their heart get stronger.

now question is why emotionally weak, it s debatable topic. may be general hormones ? and situations like more responsibility of family they are forced to handle or anything else.

this is just my observation ^^

Its Ekta Man... she tends to make her male characters look wussy and unrealistic at some point.. however amazing and brilliant the character might be, they end up running out of steam. That too to make the female character look good. This is one show though, where I feel the male character of Raman has got many different facets to portray, so its quite an interesting one to watch as well. What that does, unfortunately, is make Ishita look like just every other female lead character on tv.. That's why we need better writers, enough with the recycled tracks in ekta's shows. The worst character that has been butchered in her shows, is Anurag from KZK... That guy in real life would have commited suicide, but on the show, he married 4 wives, and all four of them left him or turned negative characters, his kids hated him, and he turned into a doormat for Prerna whenever she needed him. It doesn't get worse than that. Hopefully, it should never come to that with Raman, since Karan chooses the scenes he likes doing apparently, so less chances of butchering the character.
