Hello YHMians, back with a short story...as of now a 2 or 3 shot one...

So here it is...
Khwaab hai tu neend hoon main...
Finding true love is never easy. But I believe that once we get such love, then it is for a lifetime.
Some people take their own sweet time to realize that they are meant to be together while few others know it the moment they set eyes on each other.
For the former category of tough nuts, they indeed need a real catalyst, a trigger, a push to move forward.
In either case, when they eventually fall into the magical charming world of love, then there is no return.
In this story, I am conveniently fast forwarding all the present problems in YHM. My story starts from Mihir-Mihika's most farfetched yet most awaited wedding.
Yes after a long eventful wait which was filled with trials and tribulations, they were finally married.
Mihika and Mihir were ecstatic and really happy that their long time dream of a fairy tale wedding had come true, all thanks to their bhaiya and bhabi. They had literally fought with all the odds, tide away all the stormy obstacles and got them married.
All through the post wedding rituals, Mihika's eyes were on her akka who seemed so excited and happy at her little sister's happiness. She was on her toes running around making sure everything was perfect and there was nothing lacking. Ishita had upturned every stone to see to that Mihika was happy and that her dream of a perfect wedding was happening.
But Mihika's heart tugged at the thought of her akka's selflessness. She winced in the guilt that she wasn't doing anything for her akka. She couldn't help thinking about her akka and jiju's life. Yes, they were happy in their life, content and they had no qualms but were it all really happy? Was it all really that fine? Wasn't there something missing in their life? Were they really happy as a couple, as just husband and wife?
Mihika's logical mind knew the answer well enough. No, she knew that all was not so well beneath the thick wraps that her akka and jiju covered up around their personal lives. It wasn't hidden from anyone yet her akka made sure that everyone got the feel that she was the happiest woman on this planet. With a warm happy smile, she hid every agony and held it deep to herself.
Mihika's mind drifted back to the time when her sister had searched for words to reply for her kuch kuch hota ha moment with Raman. Her heart had gone down for akka's helplessness when Shagun had elaborated on her moment with Raman. Her heart had literally cried for her akka that day but she couldn't do anything to make things better even till date.
Mihika's heart pricked with guilt as she felt equally responsible along with the entire family for not having focused enough on setting right things between her akka and jiju. She realized that the couple really never got a chance to think or do anything to progress their own relationship. They were always surrounded by problems and at each step, somebody's problem was thrust onto their heads. They were always burdened with responsibilities.
But still, without a furrow of dislike, they had been there for each of them, be it Romi's problem, or Mihir or Mihika, or Simmi. They had treated every problem selflessly as their own problem and solved it.
Mihika decided firmly, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" and it was time for a pay back. Even if none of the others realized it, she was gonna do this for them.
Her clouded mind never knew the passage of time or not even when she was led into their bedroom for her wedding night. Amidst the cheerful banters and naughty giggles, Vandu akka and Ishu akka made her sit on the beautifully decorated bed. They had left couple of minutes before and Mihika wasn't even attentive to what they were saying. But yes, she knew that there were wedding night tips from all women around including Vandu akka. She couldn't help but notice Ishita excusing herself from that discussion and walking out of the room after muttering something really sweet into her ears. Mihika did try to stop her but she smiled and went away in the pretext of some urgent work. From then on, it was all a blur for Mihika since she felt so bad for her akka. Mihika's logical mind knew that it were 2 different matters but even then she felt sad that she was getting the happiness and bliss which her akka was forbidden from or rather deprived of.
It was only when Mihir snapped his fingers before her that she broke away from her train of thoughts.
"Mere khayaalon mein hi khoye hua ho na?"
Mihir's naughty words caught her off guard. She couldn't lie that it was about him but at the same time, she couldn't also tell him the truth bluntly and hurt him on their wedding night.
As she searched for the right words, he spoke up helping her, "It's about Bhai aur Bhabi, right?"
Mihika couldn't contain her surprise that Mihir had sensed it so rightly while he continued, "mujhse chupaane ki zaroorat nahi hai Mihika...I know its about them...tumaare aanken sacch bathaa rahi hai...you are worried about them, hai na?"
Mihir had been observing his wife from the time of wedding and he had understood what was going inside her head.
Mihika sprang up towards him, hugging him closely, "haan Mihir...Unn dono ke wajeh se humaare shaadi hui hai...sirf hum hi nahi balke sab keliye pareshan hote hai, sabke problem solve karte hai parr khud..."
Her words trailed off as her voice tore up thinking about Ishita's incomplete life as a wife. Mihir caressed her gently while she went on, "akka is very lonely in her life Mihir...she has started distancing from me too because she feels that she will trespass our privacy...unne jiju ki bohat zaroorat hai...I mean..."
She couldn't explain to him in words but he understood what it was and he said, "Bhai bhi akele hai Mihika...aur unne bhi bhabi ki saath ki zaroorat hai..."
Mihika parted a little and said, "phir yeh dono aapas mein...I mean why Mihir??? Is it so difficult to talk and move ahead? Why is it so tough for them?"
Mihir smiled at her annoyed yet innocent question and pecked her forehead gently, "dono ne apne pehla pyar khoya hai Mihika...aur woh bhi bohat bhoore tareeqe se...unnka vishwas toota tha Mihika...doosre baar khud ko yakeen dilaana difficult toh hoga hi...its quite natural...aur waise bhi, dono ko apne khud ke baare mein sochne keliye waqt bhi toh chahiye jo filaal unne nahi mil raha hai!"
Mihika enquired, "kya hum unne help nahi kar sakte Mihir? Can't we give them that time?"
Mihir cupped her hands in his as if in promise and nodded in assurance, "We will Mihika...we will surely...don't worry"
Mihika felt relieved at his words and was sure that every problem will be solved. She smiled and melted into him blissfully.
A week later...
In the meantime, Mihir had spoken with the entire family about the same. All were game for the plan. Bala was the leader of the group from the Iyer family while Mihir, Simmi and Romi took over the reins at the Bhallas. Every difference of opinion disappeared at this one problem. They were all in agreement that Ishita and Raman indeed needed time and had to sort out the distance between them.
Plans were made quickly and roles were also appropriately assigned so that there won't be an iota of doubt in Ishita's and Raman's mind. Even Ruhi was in their plans.
All along the week, there were discussions of where Mihir-Mihika would go for honeymoon. Even Raman had suggested some good places. Mihir wondered how his bhai managed to suggest ideas even without a thought about his own hollow relationship.
It was the next Saturday morning and a courier arrived at the Iyer house. Inside was a gift envelope. Mihika burst the news at the Bhalla house first, showcasing the contents of the envelope. Raman was away at office and they had chosen that time on purpose. Ishita was their first soft target. With Raman around, things wouldn't go as per their plan. He would lash everything out angrily.
All were at the living room hearing Mihika's loud call, "AKKAAA...dekho na Somu mama ne wedding gift kya bheja hai"
Ishita smiled at her sister's excitement while Mihika didn't even wait for Ishita to question back but just went on, "humaare honeymoon planning ka confusion solve kardiya...Ooty ke famous resort mein honeymoon package ka tickets bheja hai..."
Ishita rolled her eyes amused and wondered who this Somu mama was. Mihika went on to explain who that was and he happened to be some distant cousin of their mothers. Ishita plainly nodded thinking, "Whoever it was, if Mihika was happy then she was too!"
That's when Mihika threw the next shock that the package was for 2 couples and there was a letter stating that it was for Mihir and Mihika and also for Raman and Ishita. He had apologized profusely for not able to come for both the weddings. This news surely made Ishita want to know who this new Somu mama was and she was constantly declining the whole idea of their going for a honeymoon.
"Mihika, tumaare liye gift, ok samajh aatha hai but mere aur Raman keliye??? I mean no way...and who is this Somu mama?"
Mihika was cooking some story but Ishita didn't seem very convinced. But then her mother joined the drama.
"Aiyoo Ishu, tumhe Somu mama nahi maaloom?? woh mera ek lauta bhai hai...bacchpan mein tumein kitna godhi mein utaaya...enna ippadi kaetuta?? Somu kaeta evalo varutha paduvaan"
[Translation: How can you ask who is it? If Somu hears this, he will be terribly sad! And Mama in Tamil means uncle]
Her mother's emotional outpour made her think why she had to ask who this new one was. She sulked while her mother started recounting all the past old stories which involved this so called Somu mama. And quite ironically, Ishu couldn't recollect even one of the stories but she nodded for her amma's sake.
She finally spoke up, "ok fine amma...aap relax karo...I think I remember him...ek phone karke gift keliye thanks bhi bol doongi...ok?"
Her mother replied instantly, "Not ok Ishu...thanks bolne se kuch nahi hota...tumhe aur Raman ko gift accept karna hoga...aur honeymoon trip pe jaana hoga...purinjutha? warna kya sochega mera Somu?"
The entire family was literally suppressing their giggles witnessing the comical drama. Ishu replied, "No amma...aise kaise trip pe...Romi aur Sarika ki shaadi hone waali hai aur phir Ruhi ko school bhi toh hai..."
Toshi ji stepped in, "Ho Ishita...ab bhi main zinda hoom...Romi ke shaadi ke thayaari mein dekh loongi...aakir mera laadla beta hai woh...tum yeh matth jatha ke jaise tumaare bina yahaan kuch nahi ho saktha..."
Ishita cringed at her own slip and replied, "Mummy ji mera woh matlab nahi tha...main toh bas..."
Simmi stepped forward for her part now, "main toh bas kya Ishita? Ab tumaare gharwaale yahi sochenge ke hum maa beti saara kaam apne ghar ke bahu se karwaate hai aur isiliye usske paas waqt hi nahi...dekho, Romi ke maa aur behen hai yahaan usske shaadi ke kaam dekhne keliye...samjhi tum?"
Ishita silently stood allowing the family to take over the argument from then on. In between, she heard Ruhi also say that she was a big girl now and she can take care of herself for a few days.
The fight escalated from where it started to Bhallas Vs Iyers now. Ishita tried to pitch in and stop them but none heard her. She literally wished and longed that Raman was there to help her solve this problem for her. She shook her head helplessly and walked into her room.
Mihika followed her with a grin and thumbs up signal to the entire family. She planned to somehow talk and convince her akka for this combined honeymoon trip.
Ishita sat with her head cradled between her palms on the couch when Mihika walked in
She pounced up at her sight, "yeh kya hai Mihika? Ek simple si baat keliye phir se Mahabharat shuru...kitna peaceful tha...aiyo Murugan, ab yeh sab kya hogaya?"
Mihika cringed a little guilty at the whole act before her akka but then she had to do this for a good cause. So she shrugged it off, "akka, don't bother so much...innka jagda ek pal mein solve hoga...aap bas trip ke baare mein socho...kitna maza aayega main, Mihir, aap aur jiju..."
Ishita pouted and rolled her eyes, "Mihika tum bhi...honeymoon aur hum?"
She mocked her own words and chuckled and added with a grin, "kuch bhi haan..."
Mihika cut short her words sternly, "Kyun nahi akka??? What's wrong in it? Aapko aur jiju ko bhi yeh sab chahiye na?"
When Ishita stood her stand firmly, Mihika said as a final word, "ok fine...agar aap ziddh pe ho toh main bhi kuch kam nahi...Me and Mihir won't go too...yahi mana lenge honeymoon...kya farq padtha hai?"
Ishita mellowed down hearing that, "yeh kaise bacchpana hai Mihika? Why are you connecting both? Dekho tum aur Mihir..."
Her words caught in her throat and she added stammering in broken sentences not knowing how to explain to Mihika that their relationship was extremely different from hers and Mihir's, "Hum waise nahi hai...matlab..."
She stopped again and then put her last reason forward sure that Mihika won't be able to question or trespass after this reason, "You don't understand Mihika...tumaare jiju nahi chaahenge ke hum dono..."
She left it incomplete and her words just trailed off. Mihika looked at her intently at those incomplete words trying to get her akka to speak it out.
Both of them snapped out as he voiced the immediate question standing at the door, "Kyun??? Kyun nahi chaahunga?"
