PART 4

It was two days since Raman went to the NGO. He had been a happier man ever since. No complaints, no arguments.

Mihir observed the difference. Raman had been exceptionally smiling. No employees were yelled at. No one had to face the angry boss they feared. In fact, he didn't even scold an employee for his mistake. As Mihir entered the office, he heard the employees talking.

"Have you noticed Raman sir? He's only smiling!"

"Of course I did. He didn't even scold me for an error in the report yesterday. Imagine, the Raman Bhalla did not yell at me for an error!"

"That's weird. Do you think Raman sir found someone? Like, is he in love or something?"

They saw Mihir behind them and stopped talking. He chuckled and walked towards Raman's cabin to see him packing up.

"Bhai? Where are you going?" Mihir asked as he entered the cabin.

"Oh hi! Me.. Umm.. Nowhere." Raman gulped

"Then why are you packing your stuff at 4 in the evening?" Mihir asked walking towards him.

"Aree.. Can't I leave early for once? Should I leave last every day?" Raman said, definitely sounding irritated

"Chill Bhai. I was just asking!" Mihir defended himself.

"So do I have your permission to leave now?" Raman said with all the sarcasm he could manage.

"Of course, Bhai", Mihir replied, ignoring the sarcasm." At least tell me where you are going!"

"To the NGO", Raman said without a thought.

"NGO? Since when?" Mihir said, all shocked. "Who are you dude? And what have you done to Bhai?" he teased.

"Shut up yaa Mihir. Don't act like a television soap bahu, please!" Raman pleaded, already regretting for disclosing his secret.

"Bhai, stop hiding things. What are you up to?" Mihir replied back.

"I'm going to meet Ishita and Ruhi." Raman answered knowing that there was no point hiding anymore. Mihir would get it all out from him anyways.

"Ishita?? Really? The Raman Kumar Bhalla is in love?" Mihir was happy to hear that. But wait... "And who is this Ruhi?" he asked.

"She's a kid at the NGO. Dammn sweet she is!" he said blushing at Ishita's thought. Her name always brought color to his cheeks "Okay now. Let me go!" he said and left hurriedly.

"Go now. But I'll get all the details I want at night", he smirked behind Raman's back.

"I heard that", Raman shouted.

"Meant for you to hear", Mihir replied!

Raman soon reached the NGO. He expected to see kids around when he would enter, but to his surprise, there was no one around. Not one soul. He looked here and there to find someone and spotted a man at the end of the fence. Raman walked up to him and asked him where everybody was.

"They are all in the hall upstairs, beta", he replied. "Ishita beti is taking her dance classes."

Raman got excited on knowing that. He so wanted to see her dance since the time he knew about it. He asked the man for directions and ran towards the room. He was about to enter through the door, but what he saw made him stand rooted right at the doorstep.

There she was, looking elegant in her very simple white and red chudidaar, her hands in mudra, she was swaying to the beats. Her eyes expressed a story of their own. "Thak din din tak" was all he could hear and Ishu's moves were all he could see. She was looking divine, gorgeous!

He didn't even realize when Ruhi came up to him and tugged his coat. He just picked her in his arms and continued staring at Ishita. He couldn't, just couldn't take his eyes off her, even for a second. She held his entire attention. So lost he was in her beauty that he didn't even realize when the music stopped.

Ishita could feel someone's gaze on her. She turned around to see Raman standing at the door, Ruhi in his arms and his mouth wide open. As she started walking towards him, a few ladies came to talk to her.

"Raman uncle, aunty dances well doesn't her?" Ruhi asked pulling his cheeks.

"Huh", Raman said coming back to his senses. "Yea Rock star, she's adorable", he replied putting Ruhi back on her feet.

Ishita, meanwhile, came towards the duo. Ruhi went ahead and wrapped her little arms around Ishita's legs. "Ru loved your dance Ishita aunty", she said sweetly.

Ishita bent down and scooped Ruhi in her arms. "Thanks Princess", she replied kissing on her cheeks. "Go and practice with the others. You need to practice to dance like me."

Ruhi ran to her friends. Ishita was looking at her when Raman came and stood next to her. "You dance really well. I'm impressed Miss Iyer", he said.

Ishita looked at him to see him smiling down at her. He was still mesmerized by her grace, her beauty. Those eyes kept him captivated.

"Thanks Mr. Bhalla. I'm honored!" she replied with utmost sincerity.

"Well, Raman is fine with Me.", he said.

Ishita drew a blank look. "You just called me Mr. Bhalla. I prefer Raman." he clarified. Ishita kept staring. "I'm called Mr. Bhalla only at work. I'm Raman for friends." he further specified. "Well in that case Raman, in Ishita to you. You ain't gonna call me Miss Iyer anymore. Is that a deal", she said extending her hand forward. He smiled back at her and shook her hands "Deal it is!"

Slowly, as days passed by, Raman and Ishita's friendship grew. They would regularly meet up at the NGO. Ru was really happy to see the two people she loved the most in the world visiting her so frequently. She loved spending time with her Raman uncle and Ishita aunty.

Raman and Ishita too loved Ruhi to the core. She was the string that kept them attached. While playing with her, Raman and Ishita would often steal glances at each other. Both loved each other. Just that they were unknown to their own emotions.

Raman would often leave early from work. He was happier and cheerful. He scolded people less and encouraged them more. He was a changed man.

Ishita, on the other hand, was head over heels in love with him. She would finish all her work at the hospital and rush to the NGO to meet him. She loved spending time with him. He was so caring, so sweet.

The most awaited days of the week for Raman would be of the dance class. He loved to see her perform. He loved her all the more when she would be dancing.

They often spoke about everything from Stock markets to cricket, Food, science, patients, places, dreams, everything. Evenings were the most awaited, for, they would get to see each other.

Mihir saw the changes in Raman and was really happy that his friend, his brother had finally found someone for himself. He hoped and prayed desperately that the two get married.

One fine day, Ishita was returning home from the NGO. She was passing through the Connaught Place, when she spotted someone there. Picking up her phone, she dialed a number urgently.

"Miku, where are you?" she asked. "Me? Umm... Akka in at near Khan Market for some official work. What happened?" Mihika asked from the other side. "Oh nothing. Just asked. Chal bye", she replied back smiling. "Bye akka. Take care" she replied and put his phone back into her pocket.

The very next moment, she felt someone tapping her head. She turned around to see Ishita standing right behind her. She got up with a start. Following suit was the guy next to her.

"So Miku, since when did Connaught become Khan Market? And since when did boyfriend become office work?" she asked with a serious face. "Woh akka... Woh" Mihika fumbled.

Ishita couldn't control anymore. She started laughing. Miku was relieved to know that her sister wasn't mad at her.

"Are you gonna introduce me to him? Or is it that in being the Kebab me Haddi?" Ishu asked winking at her. "Of course akka... Mihir, this is akka. And akka, this is Mihir." she said.

"Mihir, that's such a nice name. Glad to meet you Mihir!" Ishita exclaimed. Mihir said nothing. Just came ahead and hugged Ishita. Ishita was taken aback for a second, but hugged him back. "Akka... Finally I get to meet you! I've heard so much about you!" he said cheerfully breaking the hug.

"Really?" Ishita looked at Mihika. "Good or bad?" "All good", Mihir said.

"Okay guys. Can we please go somewhere and eat? I'm starving" Ishu said. Soon, they were sitting in a restaurant, eating sandwiches.

"So Mihir, what do you do?" asked Ishita. "I'm an MBA Finance Akka, Working here in Delhi right now", Mihir answered. "And how did you end up meeting my event manager sister?" she enquired yet again. "Met through mutual friends at a birthday party akka", Mihika put in.

They spoke casually for some more time. "Okay Miku, in gonna talk about the two of you at home." Ishita declared. Mihir, who is there in your family?" "My mom and Bhai. I don't really have a family akka. But my friend is more than a brother to me and I consider his mom as my mother", he replied. "Okay then... I'm waiting to talk to them." she replied.

Miku tried to protest, but Ishita was adamant. She wanted to meet Mihir's family and asked him to talk at home too. The meeting was to be fixed after Mihir spoke to Raman and mummyji.
