A few insights and hints at where YHM is headed as I mulled over the episode.
Lambu was drunk and out of his mind thinking he can get away from marrying Shagun. She won't so easily let him off the hook. He should remember she still meddles in Raman's life on a whim as long as she gets what she wants. As she warned after Sunny bro showed her the article and she used Sanjana to get Mihir to declare her his sister in public... "you don't know the real me, I'll do anything to get what I want". Ashok better watch out!
Even in his inebriated state Lambu told Moneybags Mani he never intended to get married. He doesn't believe in commitment or long term relationships. Looks like he prefers to live life just bieng a skirt chaser. The truth always slips the lips of a drunk. So if marriage was not part of his plans in life, why would he plan to marry Mihika?
On two occasions Lambu saw Ishita at the party with no one else around and still he didn't recognize her? 😲 And what's with his haircut? Is that a rug on his head or just bad styling? Without Shagun around even his sense of style is taking a hit. At least he didn't drape curtain bits in the name of being fashionable.😛😆
Why does Mihir want to take a loan to give Shagun a grand wedding? It's not her first wedding. As he told her last week, her marriage to Raman was grand but it didn't stand the test of time. What does he want to prove by throwing a lavish wedding for Shagun a second time? When is Shagun going to grow up and realize that life is more than filling the void in one's life with a no-limit credit cards, shopping, spa dates and kitty parties? She has raised her son to be a clingy darpok and that doesn't look good long term especially for a young lad to grow up without a father's influence in his life during his important preteen years.
Looks like Mrs. Fullmoon Light shows up only once a month to live up to her name.😛 If she supported Shagun to get away from a loveless marriage from Raman, why would she support her marrying Ashok who doesn't believe in any form of commitment or marriage? Has she even bothered to meet her future son-in-law now that the date for the wedding is fast approaching? 😕
Adi was disturbed when Shagun left the mansion with him for Mihir's house for a temporary stay until the wedding, or so she believed. She never once wondered why her son was asking her if she was sure about leaving the mansion. Shagun's got her head in the clouds her mind only preoccupied with her lavish wedding and letting everything else roll off like water off a duck's back. She was even complaining about living in Mihir's middle class house as if she was born with a silver spoon. Adi is second on her list of priorities only after her materialistic dreams have been addressed for the moment.
Shallow Shagun didn't mind a live in arrangement with Lambu until recently. When Raman moved on in his life and married Ishita, even if it was only to get custody of Ruhi, she suddenly realized that without legal ties to Lambu he could well boot her and Adi out of his mansion.
Raman has regularly reminded Shagun that Lambu has not given her the security of marriage or his name after six years together. Once Ishita emphatically stated (at the spa) she never intended to give up (Raman and Ruhi) what Shagun has carelessly tossed aside, Shagun's insecurity went up several notches. She tried to show Ishita that Raman loved only her but every time Raman proved otherwise. This only heightened her need to settle down with Ashok.
To make matters worse, chota Lambu showed up intent on getting her out of Lambu's life. He wasn't far off the mark, she was using Ashok to fund her luxury lifestyle but turning to Raman to protect her using Adi as bait. Now Shagun is desperate to marry Lambu and secure her future before he changes his mind under Sunny's influence. She wavers between claiming to love Lambu and reminding him she had left her life with Raman, all for him. Shagun loves herself and everyone else is an afterthought in her life. She proved it when she cooked paalak paneer when Lambu was allergic to it. In his presence she asked Raman to choose the better between the two paalak paneers...Ishita's and hers. Just bec' one's mother is a chef doesn't automatically make the daughter a good cook.
Raman may have a point about Ishita's ancient looks though he could have expressed it without his sharp words. Ishita looked much younger and better when she went to the CEO of the year award with Prateek and to Mani's party. Around Raman, except on a rare occasion or two, she looks older than him, esp. with that bun on her head. Drape her in a saffron robe and she could be essaying the role of Narada muni on a period drama, or with some flowers on wrists, hair and neck she could play the role of Shakuntalai. 😛
Who invites an old friend to the party to play hostess, goes to meet his new business partner and leaves her standing there with her phone even if she was checking it once too often to see if her husband had calledl. Expect for the woman Lambu was ogling at and the couple that inquired about Shagun, there weren't many guests at the party. The dullest party ever! 😕Shagun sure would have made it a bit more interesting had she come. Lambu, the guest of honor showed up, guzzled a few drinks and spilled the truth about his intentions to Mani, then got walked out by Murali, Mani's right hand guy. He even walked Ishita out to a car, but who's car was it?😕
Did Raman forget that he once looked worse than Murali, in his geeky avatar with glasses and suspenders too?😛😆 It goes against his personality to duck after seeing Ishita outside Mani's mansion esp. after he went there solely to pick her up. And as far as his nok-jhoks go, all that can be said at this point is that it's fast approaching it's expiration date...it's pale, stale and male. 😕
Mrs. Iyer ruined Mihika's Rs.15 lakhs dress and Mihir took a loan for the same amount. Coincidence?😕 Mihika also modeled to make up for the ruined dress, so that couldn't be logically the reason if any to blackmail her into marriage to Lambu. If Shagun-Ashok marriage is off, and the ruined dress becomes the issue Mihir can settle the account and save Mihika from the clutches of Lambu. For all we know, Ashok may not marry Shagun or Mihika, he dislikes commitment. So if he does hitch his wagon to Mihika it would be for a short duration to make Raman and Ishita pay ...if he loses this new contract with Mani to Raman.
For once Ishita didn't go solo jasoosi and brought the concern to Raman. That's a huge improvement.👏 It's Raman ex-wife's pending marriage on the line that will affect Adi so he should be the one to take action if any and Ishita should stay out of it. But can she?
Ishita's focus should be to break the mold of nok-jhoks and open up to Raman about her feelings. Even if he mocks her or laughs at her, it wouldn't be any different, he's already doing it any time the issue of intimacy comes up between them. They've both been dancing around each other, instead of with each other. About time they get beyond their past hurts and dare to admit their love for each other. After all, life doesn't give every one a second chance to love again. As Akshay Kumar says in his ad "Life may Dare nahi, tho Life ki Care nahi".😃
Moneybags Mani seems to have been burnt in his past relationship(s) and has reflected on it. He may live up to his name and ring a bell in Ishita's mind to help her take her marriage forward. His point blank "Do you love your husband?" was a smart move. Someone had to give her a push with the question so she can take the next step to solidify her marriage and take it forward. With both Raman and Ishita hiding behind past hurts it was headed for a stalemate.😕
