The women on Indian television are forever
portrayed as the big hearts in the family.
Apart from flauting the naari shakti', we
also get to see how mahaan' they are. Of
course, a good person generally always has
a good heart but too much greatness often
becomes a little bit too sugary. Increment in
sugar level makes one diabetic.
Star Plus' Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is one of
the most sort out shows on television. The
show is loved by elders as well as the
younger generation. It is generally hard to
create a massive viewership consisting of
viewers from different age groups at a time.
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein has been able to
target a common viewership that comes
from a varied demography at the late night
slot of 11 pm. This is one commendable fact
about the show.
It has successfully established the
characters of Raman and Ishita, two polar
opposites, and by this time viewers are
completely aware about the traits of the
lead characters. There's absolutely no
necessity to make them do unwise things
now in order to establish their character
traits in the minds of the viewers.
However, an astonishing fact is going to
happen in the show. Ishita would be
bringing Shagun back to the Bhalla house in
a drunken state.
She will find Shagun in the middle of the
road and her heart will go out to her (her
heart will go out to her husband's ex who
leaves no scope to conspire against her!). As
a good human being, Ishita will help
Shagun and bring her home out of
humanity.
Now, helping Shagun is understandable but
bringing her home and to her and Raman's
bedroom is completely not understandable!
Are we still watching a show from the
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi era where
it was utterly necessary to portray the
female lead as the most humble and giving
one even if all others are robbers and
thieves around her?
Ishita could have taken her to her own
clinic to help her but bringing Shagun to
her own house isn't something that an
educated, professional lady of today would
do. It is not about flaunting how much you
trust your husband or how much of a great
human being you are, it is simply about
having common sense. Now, common sense
surely doesn't deprive anyone of humanity.
It only makes a human look more
intelligent!
A show like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein surely
doesn't deserve such illogical tracks to test
Raman's loyalty to Ishita or to show off
Ishita's blind trust on Raman.
