A tale of two Brothers -

Okay to begin with I am glad you made two posts cos otherwise it would have been one hell of a long reply from my end and people might have actually fallen asleep before the end of it 😆

Now Raman and Mihir - this is one of my fav pairs in the show and quite a fascinating one in my opinion too. There is obviously a lot of love, respect, care and concern here along with an unwavering loyalty among them but there is also a symbiotic element to them.

Mihir has never ever denied he is who he is because of Raman, to him he is his god, his family, his world - for him he would die and kill without the blink of an eye; that is the kinda worship Mihir has for this man but Raman - he is equally possessive and protective of Mihir - so much so his own flesh and blood brother got jealous of their closeness.

People know Raman has helped Mihir and raised him practically hence he is indebted to the man but it has also been shown in ways and instances that Raman NEEDS AND RELIES on Mihir just as much if not more. He is his shadow, his confidante, his sounding board - the one person who knows all of him and from whom he keeps no secrets - even now when he resigned he didn't bat an eyelid and let Ishita know what he did but Mihir, he knew, he was taken into confidence and confided in.

Why Mihir needs Raman is a given - but Raman - he has needed and had Mihir through the worst phase of his life, cos I think when he hit rock bottom while everyone else around him choose to sulk and cry with Raman and let him be - Mihir - he didn't do that. He made Raman know he has someone to fall back on - cos he too was burned at the hands of the same woman albeit in a different manner. While people might have ridiculed or pitied Raman - he must have been the only one to let him know - he was NEVER in the wrong - something Raman might have needed to hear and that he cant let this woman' betrayal get to him.

Raman, who for all reasons and purposes blocked his feelings and closed his heart off - couldn't keep Mihir at bay cos in Mihir he not only found a responsibility he had to shoulder but also...a brother, a companion who became HIS shoulder, his companion by just being his quiet shadow... Mihir didn't leave him alone and yet he gave him the space Raman needed.

What is fascinating is these two were brought together by a woman who not only ripped them apart individually - she tore apart the fabric of their families. For Raman it happened by taking away his child, by cheating on him, by letting him down on the vows of fidelity. With Mihir it happened when she took away the woman who might have been a mother figure to him too - an elder sister he looked up to in the absence of a mother, by making him feel like an orphan and from being a member of a family - Raman' - she made him an outsider since all his ties to the Bhallas were via her, until they took him in because they saw he didnt deserve to be punished for what his sister did. She made him become a ward they took in - a pity case and hence while he is indebted and considers the Bhallas as his family - he said he is alone when asked by Amma about his family.

Elder siblings not just in India but the world are taught one thing - you are RESPONSIBLE for your juniors... they become mother figures and father figures from an early age and while there is a fair bit of sibling rivalry always - there is also a sense of loyalty and security that comes in with that relationship DESPITE that rivalry. There may be any amount of tiffs personally but when it comes down to it - the younger ones know they can always rely on the older to protect them and the older ones STEP in no matter what to save their wards because no one else can dare lay a finger on their junior.. The urge to protect and the belief of security is such a vital part of this relationship.

Here one sister took away that security her brother had as the older one when she chose her own selfish purposes, her greed over everyone - even her own blood - not just a brother but a daughter as well - the brother was let down and hence today his insecurity, his fear makes him keep mum regarding the woman he would have once adored - he finally has someone to call his own in Mihika, a girl who loves him and who came down on her knees for him - only she needed him to stand up for her, for them - she needed his belief, his strength, she wanted him to stop running away from himself and his heart burdened by a sense of obligation that was never needed to begin with...again she would need him to believe in her, in them and have the faith that he need not carry any guilt whatsoever for the actions of a woman which were never his choices to make...

and on the other hand is a sister who would need to find her faith all over again - cos when she comes to realize the bitter truth about who was in the right here and who was wrong - she would be lost in an abyss of darkness shaken beyond words - having lost her faith in HERSELF cos she doubted the man, said words to him - the one person who was willing to go even against her FOR her sake while she placed her trust in a man who should never have had it in the first place.

Recently Ishita told Raman how her family helped her move on as well as there was a scene where Raman says to Simi only he could convince her, cool her down once she withdrew and came to the footsteps of this gurudwara whenever she was angry or upset... isnt it remarkable how the man she claims to be her enemy is the one who is trying to protect her and once she falls down from grace, once she realizes her own errors it would be the same man who would help her up, cos in his own words - he was and has always been the only one who could reach out to her... since he would once again understand what it is she feels, what it is to be in her place having a history that he sees unfortunately repeating in her. While he was married to a woman who turned out to be an adulteress, she loved a wrong man too who not only has a roving eye but is a molester as well...they both had kids too when they unfortunately found themselves face to face with the truth... but the remarkable difference would be he wouldn't allow her to make his mistakes - withdraw in a shell like he did, like he said last night trying to hold himself in, not allowing his tears to fall and yet have them pool in his eyes - that it hurts to see her cry too...

He with the help of a woman who became the light that finally lit up his world is finding his way back and has covered a fair bit of distance... now he would do so too, only this time he would hold the hand of a sister who needs his strength while he relies on the strength of a woman who has become his guiding light as he does it.

Is it any wonder then that Ishita had to follow the siblings to the gurudwara, that it was she who made Raman realize how as family he should be there for Simi and it was she who held him back for so many days, which he himself acknowledged last night although angrily at the time.

Though I understand Muhir's concerns as you stated them here. Still he should tell Mihika. She has a right to know. Also what happens when truth is out after MiMi marriage? Does not Mihir fear abandonment then? It is always good to be clear in relationships.

About Mihir thats true it's easy to say he should tell the truth but people forgot in that divorced fiasco Mihir also suffer alongwith raman ruhi adi and bhalla family. This happy and lively family who can say they face worst path of their life. It's easy for us to say he should share but only he knows how much he is in dilemma

Raman if he played brother part than bashed by husband part and play husband part bashed by brother part. As he said once mark bhi pisate hain duniyadari me aur wo ek mamuli insaan hai that's so true people expect from him to be a hero and all rounder but forgot that he is also human with weakness
