Mihir was suppose to engage sone other girl right? How did he end up with mihika? Can someone explain there love story?

that engagement was Ramans plan,so that Mihir will confess his love to Mihika,on the day of engagement Mihir will refuse to get engaged and accept that he still loves Mihika... then Raman tells everyone that it was His plan... and the girl who was supposed to get engaged to Mihir is already in a relationship with Neil Pathak (ramans lawyer)

Mihir and mihika were seeing each other from way b4 .. they even convinced their elders to meet for wedding .. but when families met , it was during ruhi custody case ..so iyers and bhalla were not on good terms .. so raman was against and mihir sided with him , Mihika was angry tht Mihir didnt stand by their love .. and raman fixed his alliance with some clients daughter ..

but when they were about to be engaged .. it was revealed it was all plan by raman to make Mihir admit his feeling and stand up for his love for mihika .. so MiMi finally got engaged to each other
