Well I did not know KP or DT before this show and it is the their brilliant acting, chemistry and the excellent plot of the show which hooked me to this series.
But, even I agree that recently, these scenes were below the standards. I honestly did not watch the Romi Ishita scene properly, because I was suffering from a headache that day and all that constant turning of the camera did not help, so I actually kindaa let it pass.
I personally think there may be a many reasons for that:
1. DT by nature is a very soft and introvert person, someone who finds solace in books and does not talk too much. For someone like her to do a Kolaveri scene, or the Haryanvi act me be a tough nut to crack. It may be a new genre to her and while I commend her for her honest trial, its ok to fail or be not up to the mark ... that is how one learns no ...
2. I have a feeling that Kolaveri Di scene was most probably a last minute invention as a filler because the sets of YHM had burnt. If you look at the same episodes yet again, you will notice that Bhalla house was avoided as much as possible .. because may be it was burnt .. that may explain the new look of Ishra bedroom also.
About yesterdays Haryanvi scene, well I am pretty acquainted with the Haryanvi accent and honestly, though it looked like a good effort, it did not do justice.
But, I still want to push my first point that it may be related to DT's nature.
All said and done, I will not go as far as saying that her acting standards are slipping because the same DT was able to convey a 1000 things from her eyes during the recent fake ILU scene but simply accept the fact that she is may be not comfortable with comedy or rather to be precise ... over the top loud comedy ..
She has been brilliant with situational comedy earlier ... I will like to refer to Ruhi ka not innocent question Ishima, babies kahan se aate ?
P.S.: Brilliant idea to open this post. I do not see any reason to report this post, rather if there is a way, I am ready to promote it for the sole reason that it brings out a healthy discussion.
Cheers
