- He felt like his brother was choosing someone who was 'lower' than him (because she is divorced and has a kid)... thats a classic behaviour in almost every society... it may be changing, but its not gone

- He felt that his needs were not considered. A woman, no matter what class should be there to pay attention to the needs of the men of the house. NO matter if you have 100 servants n cooks n drivers!

The things that had nothing to do with him being an MCP:

- He said Shagun is a gold-digger & not classy - that was quite perceptive actually. The one line that Ashok said "Shagun wanted to show off the farm house" -> that line would make a lot of people think bad about Shagun too, even if its human nature to show off to people, 'classy' people dont want to admit it!

- He said, there is too much drama around Shagun -> again bang on. don't know if he has visibility of everything we've seen on the show so far. If he has, then there is nothing wrong in saying that. If my brother wanted to marry a woman who had so much drama going on around her, I'd be a bit worried too

I couldn't agree with you more on this point. I will choose Ashok over this MCP any day especially after how he behaved yesterday. While, I was very happy to finally see some realization between the two dhakkans, the last scene acted as a damper to it.

My thoughts:

• How ironical, a man with such dark thoughts is named, Suraj. He should be rechristened to Solar Eclipse.

• If I had to choose between Ashok and Suraj, I will settle for Ashok any given day. Before anyone gives me a free delivery of rotten tomatoes (rotten or not .. they are a luxury anyway these days 😆.. sorry about the PJ couldn't stop myself), let me explain.

• Ashok, though definitely a sub-standard man is better because even though he took Shagun from Raman, yet he has remained faithful to her for six years. I know, recently, we have seen him fishing for Mihika, but that is also his master plan to get back on Raman. Of course, this does not justify his downright cheap behavior any day.

Secondly, he has always been good to Adi. Of course, he used Adi against Raman but then yet again, it was against Raman and not against Adi.

Further, he tried his best to keep Adi safe after the accident in his own twisted manner. It angered him that Shagun cornered him during the accident track altogether and that is when he actually devised his yet to be seen masterplan.

• This brings me to Mr. Solar Eclipse. That man is worse than a pig. What irked me the most yesterday is not his behavior towards Shagun, but towards Adi. Who was he trying to show attitude to? An 11 year old kid? He could have openly shown his displeasure to Ashok anyday and even demeaned Shagun for all I know, and I would have happily accepted it, but the way he downright ignored Adi was rude and unacceptable😡😡😡.

• Finally the part where you mentioned Ashok's oh so saint behavior. Parul, Solar Eclipse is so like our usual society heads who have different standards of morals for both the genders. He belongs to the douchebag brigades where a man can be a walking talking s**t , or as some neta recently said, rape a woman and simply say galti ho gayi and yet demand that his wife should of the purest form (sadly purity has a very sad meaning in India for the normal men). As always, women's virginity defines her morals, standards and of course, her PURITY ..

So, it did not surprise me at all when he thought that Ashok deserved someone better. After all, he has enjoyed with Shagun in her prime years, time to damage another PURE soul.

YHM has dealt with sensitive issues earlier as well. I will love to see this man go down the drain in a real real bad way.

Again like u said, i am not justifying or speaking for Shagun but then Suraj's reasoning that Ashok deserves someone better was really off the limits. I just hope Ashok doesnt do anything like that and that ends up being a problem for Ishra! Shagun and Adi getting thrown out of Ashok's life means a big problem for Ishra relationship. A sword on top of their heads...hope nothing of that sort happens!

Shagun is a gold digger, no argument on that but it takes two to tango. Their relationship has survived this long more because of Ashok's attachment rather than the other way around. Now the reasons could be as illogical as Ashok's obsessive desire to keep getting back at Raman or it could be his genuine affection for Shagun. Last night what Suraj said was actually an echo of what Raman has been telling Ahsok all these years...without money Shagun would leave him also and move on to greener pastures. In a way it will be a bitter experience for Shagun, a taste of her own medicine. Karma doesn't leave you for long, you reap what you sow. Shagun was lucky that she had Ashok in her life, seeing his brother you can actually root for Ashok(very painful, though yaar!!!) Ashok let her get away with her shenanigans, dancing with Raman on Mihir's engagement and making a fool of herself, her suicide drama to get back at Raman. It was only her use of Adi in the accident track and giving Raman preference over Ashok, and that too by instigating and insulting him that was the last straw for the 6 foot 2 inch! Where I don't sympathise with what was meted out to both Shagun and Adi last night (they've done worst and got away with it) I hated the brother giving his gyaan to Ashok. But then that arrogance is reflected in Ashok also, where just because they were born with a silver spoon they think themselves to be above anyone else. Raman and his likes are nau daulatias for them who they can insult at their will. The brother's desire to have a partner of good breed for both of them reflects their inflated egos and screwed up perception of life!
