Ok I have been meaning to make this post for the past 2 days but couldnt. In the midst of all IshRa moment celebrations CVs seems to slip out and the episode is slightly spoiled for me đ
Mistake numero uno:MURUGAN?! đ˛ phirse MURUGAN??? I am glad the "Ayyo" was removed before Muruga but Murugan for the hundredth time made me cringe during Friday's episode. CVs its JUST MURUGA lets try that again... MURUGA and one more time... MU-RU-GAPlease CVs do correct that! The whole time after Ishita says Murugan, the charm is gone and I can't seem to enjoy the scenes after that!
Muruga or Murugan is the Tamil name of Lord Kartikeya (second son of Lord Shiva & brother of Lord Ganesh), who is a very popular god among Tamilians. Just as others exclaim "Jesus" or "hey bhagwan" when they are surprised or vexed, it is natural for Tamilians to exclaim Muruga or Murugan (that is how many Tamilians pronounce it). Similarly it is common for Gujaratis & Rajasthanis to exclaim hey Dwarkadeesh or Thakurji, Maharashtrians to exclaim Deva re Deva, and so on. Aiyyo is the Tamil equivalent of saying "uh-oh" in English or "uff" or "hai" in Hindi.Tamil Brahmins who have grown up outside Tamil Nadu may not use these phrases much but I hear them frequently when I visit Tamil Nadu. I fail to see why anyone would find "Aiyyo Murugan" more objectionable or irritating than say "hey bhagwan" or "oh god".
