Shagun is the kind of person who is never satisfied with what they have. As the saying goes "the grass is always greener on the other side" - that is the case with Shagun. When she was with Raman, she was attracted to the richness that Ashok could provide her with, so much so that even the immense love that her husband had for her then paled in comparison. When she left Raman, she expected him to remain the same naive guy she married, whereas she moved up in the world. However, that wasn't the case, Raman brought out a side of him that has made him what he is today. And all of a sudden, to Shagun now, Raman's status is what Ashok's was to her in the beginning. And this is where Ashok pales in comparison simply because Raman is a far better man than Ashok will ever be and deep down Shagun knows that hence her wanting for Raman to stay in love with her and not move on. She wants to be able to exert control over Raman knowing full well that he will never be hers again.
