Beautiful post as always, Nikki. A few comments on the scenes you noted and very aptly described:
1) Salsa practice: After a little warm-up in which our hero expressed discomfort at his heroine's attire on the premise that it's hard to salsa in a saree (did you have something else in mind, Raman jaan? Is that too much clothing for you? 😉), Raman and Ishita did a take two. Here, we see them completely in the zone and focused-- a little on the steps, a little on their coordination, and a lot on each other. Poetry in motion, as they say. And they showed that poetry in motion through matching each other's each step, each movement, each pulse, while only keeping their eyes on each other. Bravo to them. Kya connection hai. 😉
2) Ishita defending Raman: Such a small but potent sign of the progress in their relationship. We have seen Raman defend Ishita, Raman be affected (mentally, emotionally, and physically) by Ishita, but we have only seen a small fraction of that from Ishita's side (at least in comparison to Raman). While this may appear a small gesture in the grand scheme of things, it's a grand gesture when looked at from where they started-- very rocky and mutually equal dislike-- to where they are now-- 'Sirf Ruhi ke liye' facade to the world, including themselves, but 'Ab tumhare liye' in their hearts. Ishita defending Raman was a glimpse into her heart.
3) Raman getting jealous: Raavan Kumar to jal gaya! 😆 Agar sirf Ruhi ke liye, kyun itni aag at patni's tareef of another man (her jija, no less!), Raman babu? 😃 Much like how Ishita defending Raman in the previous scene gave the audience a glimpse of what's truly in her heart-- her acceptance of her husband-- Raman getting jealous of Bala as the perfect everything had the same effect: both incidents showed the now new phase of their relationship that they have entered (unbeknownst to each other). They have fully accepted the other as their spouse and not just their daughter's parent. More than that, however, they are ready, willing, and more importantly, want to fulfill the needs and wants of the other and be a good spouse (as evidenced in Raman buying Ishita a necklace).
Who would have thought our Raavan Kumar and Jhansi ki Raani would end up here? (I mean we all knew they would, but obviously they would have never thought it, haha). I absolutely love the pace of their relationship and show of different phases; very realistic and natural. Major kudos to YHM team! 👏
