While I agree with you on the point of wanting to see something fresh and original like Lucky pointed out to have a show 6 days a week year round is a mammoth task even if it seems like they have a telecast of only 20 mins, but its not that easy
Plus Indian audiences are still not out of the cliche zone - they are barely waking up to content outside the saas bahu genre after the decade long coma so it will take time to have fresh things so till the time makers will continue to rely on cliches.
Having said that YHM though having predictable tracks is breaking boundaries in its own way, for eg - IshRa are perhaps the first Indian TV show couple I can think off where the leads are unapologetic about discussing sexual matters of any sort, be it the condom fiasco or very recently Raman commenting about checking Ishita out and her backside... there are hordes of pairs out there on all these channels who play couples that are head over heels in love with each other, but whenever the slightest issue of intimacy is raised they act as if they are coy virgins though they might be shown playing parents - IshRa without being in love are casual and real enough to discuss these things.
I know innuendo is not a huge thing, considering the vulgar comedy shows we have on air these days, but what sets YHM apart in this context is here they have a couple who is real.
Plus the makers aren't stretching things for ages unnecessarily - a track gets wrapped up within a month no matter how huge a matter is shown - that on Indian TV is progress.
Not to mention the fact with its beginning itself YHM raised a taboo - it had a woman playing an adulterer - something I last saw in a show called Hasratein on Zee perhaps two decades back - women like Shagun exist, who cheat on their husbands but amidst the Tulsis and Parvatis they were lost on TV for ages now...a woman was shown for so long as a vamp only if she tried to ruin the married/love life of a couple who is together - in Shagun we had a woman who walked out on her husband and is in a casual live-in relationship with her boyfriend.
The tracks and scenes may be cliche but contentwise YHM is in a league of its own as per me. 😳
