Hello YHMians!
This is my first work on YHM. I will admit I am not a regular viewer or follower but I like the couple and the actors are doing a great job!
Although OS is a comfort zone for me I am not quiet sure about this one. Forgive me if I ruin IshRa for anyone.
Thank you EkPaheli aka Ani for inspiring me to write this. Your works are gems.
With Regards
Nidha

He welcomed the darkness as his mother switched off the lights in the sitting room after asking him to take care of his wife. He welcomed the cover it provided. For what seemed like eons to him he had been facing one harsh reality after another. Infidelity seemingly loved him by the way it creeped upon him so often. He would never wish it's pain on his worst enemy yet this time , it managed to tear apart his sister's life. Also causing a collateral damage in it's wake - his wife Ishita.

Raman Kumar Bhalla - was tortured a man. A torture which stung even now. So for him to trust anyone was a huge leap. He had trusted his wife and his love for her only to be stabbed in the back by her. He should have taken into account what he was seeing. His failure to do that had cost him his marriage as well as his trusting nature. His first instinct now was to doubt anything or anyone he saw. The exception perhaps was Mihir and his blood relations.

Ishita Iyer - now Ishita Bhalla had given him nothing much to trust in the beginning. Eventually she had done many things for him that he was in his heart grateful for but he could not trust her fully. She was a beautiful , independent , dignified woman and he was a broken man. Their's was a marriage of convenience. Who is to say that she wouldn't search for affection elsewhere? Even
though he knew he was being judgemental about a woman who had shown strong moral values till now , he couldn't help it. Hence he had doubted her and accused her at first when the whole Parmeet fiasco came in the open. Like a good son he chose to trust his family.

Raman wondered just how much more he would owe Mihir. Though the lad followed and revered him , it was Mihir's wise voice that had caused him to stop and think many times. A voice without which he might've caused havoc. Once again Mihir had helped. He had asked Raman to give Ishita the benefit of doubt. To just think thoroughly about the woman he knew and think he did.

How could he blindly blame a woman who had forsaken her chance to a union of love just because she loved his daughter? How could he mistrust a woman who had shown him the obvious truth when he was blind to it? Ishita was raised by Mr and Mrs.Iyer - the parents he loved to address as Amma and Appa. They were people of strong moral values and righteousness. They would have raised their daughters in the same mould. A mould in which he would like to raise his own children. Would a woman raised by them go wrong? Ishita had tried to help Simmy without letting any of them know. She had suggested for him to take Parmeet into his firm. She had seemed to genuinely care for Simmy's well being then. Would she herself cause trouble then? Going through all these facts in his mind he had decided to delve into the matter himself. The result was the revelation of the ugly truth of a man he thought to be good and the ruin of a marriage. His heart had constricted at the stricken look on his sister's face as her good for nothing husband was carried off to the Police Station but he had to stand by the truth. His sister and children were better off without such a man in their life.

After seeing to it that Parmeet was firmly locked up he had gone straight to Ishita's house. He was dreading that she would refuse to come back. He had no idea for how long he would pacify his little girl Ruhi. She had constantly questioned him about her Ishima in the days Ishita had gone back to her home. The first two days that his mother had not let her meet her Ishima she had cried herself to a disturbed sleep. Fearing for her health and unable to take her hurt look he had allowed her to go meet her mother. The happiness that had radiated from his daughter's face was priceless. It was as if he had given back her life. She had ran to her mother's home for her Ishima to engulf her in tight hug. He had watched - silent and troubled - the tears that flowed down his wife's beautiful face.

Apprehensively he had approached Ishita with an apology. He gave her the freedom to not come back. He half expected her to take it. But Ishita's love for his daughter was far greater than her pride. Without a word she had come back.

Sighing Raman stood up and walked into his room. The sight that greeted him made his heart clench. Ishita was lying on the couch hugging Ruhi tightly to her bosom. Both it seemed had cried themselves to sleep as shown by the tear stains on their face. He proceeded towards them and satbeside the sofa. He caressed his daughter's head gently. He would have lost his little girl was it not for the woman holding her. Yet he seemed to be the one hurting his daughter the most while Ishita loved her beyond measure. The way she was holding her as if not wanting to let her go , the way she asked for Ruhi the first thing when she came back. He could never compete with that love. His daughter in turn loved and trusted her Ishima blindly. She saw in Ishita what he couldn't see - a woman of great strength and capable of loving deeply. A woman with good heart.

Realising this Raman Kumar Bhalla resolved to take a leap of faith. He gazed for long at his wife's face before whispering
" I trust you Ishita Raman Bhalla"

That was a beautifully written piece.

The way you portrayed Raman's thoughts is beyond my praise with words. I am speechless right now. Oh la la la! He is a broken man and when someone you love more than you life betrays you like Shagun did to him. Just how would you expect anyone to stay the same. People change. From far away it may seem as if they are still the same but when you come closer you realize that they aren't the same person anymore. That's how life is. It sometimes requires you to change whereas at as certain point it is the only choice you have.

And I am glad Mihir gave him the sense of doubt because Ishita would never say such a thing if she didn't have a big reason behind it. I mean I know they are the two bulls that always lock their horns but even a third person or an outsider would have been able to realize this WHEREAS Raman lives with this woman 24 * 7. You could at least expect that much from him.

But again he is not only a husband, he is also a son, and a brother to someone. It's like choosing between you and your soul. Without you, your soul is nothing and without the soul you lose your humanity. I mean if i was in the situation I would be stuck...just like him. Who to trust and who not to... Cause trust is like a crumple piece of paper. Once you crumple it the wrinkles never go away as much as you try.
The truth always hurts and is always bitter but that's why its called he truth. It's not always as sweet as honey. That's why people tend to always go with the wrong. cause it's so much easier. But...that's what it's all about. Doing the right thing!
And I am glad RKB did the right thing. Jhappi to you RKB. You rocked again!

Another favorite part of mine was the way you described Ruhi and Ishita. God...it almost made me cry. Trust me...sometimes even I cry for my mommy when i am really homesick. Cause khoon se zayada dil ka rishta bada hota hai
It's nature vs nurture. But...mamta...or a mother's love for a child is always pure. It's probably the most beautiful relation in the world...full of love and care. Ruhi is a little angel and I absolutely love her and iSHITA...when it comes to Ruhi she never compromises! That's what makes them so special. It's wlays Ruhi first and badmein everything else. This is love as well.

iT'S iRONIC...One side you have Raman and iSHITA...AND THEN the other you have Ruhi and Ishita. And in the middle is Raman, Ishita and Ruhi. 😳 But the most common thing in them is love...You may not see it in Raman and iSHU YET...but it's surfacing...slowly. After all slow and steady wins the race 😆

An absolute perfect piece of work you wrote dude!
I enjoyed reading it...it was dull of emotions that I can't even describe in words! Seriously. Great Job
Do continue writing on Ishra...I would love to read more of your works!

Wow! Now you've left me quiet speechless with the comment.😊
Trust is a tough thing to give even under the best of circumstances. Unless one is too naive or too innocent , most people do not trust easily. So to expect that from RKB is too much. But he could always give Ishita , the Ishita he knows the benefit of doubt. He trusted Mihir when there was no proof so why not extent the benefit of doubt to Ishita?
On the one side is the family in which you were raised and on the other is a woman you've known for two months. Isn't it obvious which will wave heavier? I am sure I would have chosen family because I know them better and hence trust them. The same went for RKB.
Ruhi and her Ishima are a relation I can't quiet describe. It's beautiful to watch and heartening to feel. A love like that , how does one describe it? Don't worry though I don't cry now , I remember the first two months of my hostel life I cried buckets and that's from someone who does not like tears much. Without mothers were would we be?
Thank you for this heartfelt comment dear. It touches and humbles a writer to know that their work produced an effect.
Regards
Nidha.
