Mihir & Shagun - Siblings?!

YHM is definitely growing on me and while IshRa' hug and the ensuing scenes where Shagun misunderstands them is at the forefront of today' posts - I liked the progress made on the Mihir front too.

I was genuinely intrigued by Mihir' equation with Raman always. He has been shown as Raman' shadow, his sounding board, his friend and also his mentee. Someone whom Raman trusts implicitly, perhaps one of those limited people in his life, whom he considers important as well. But the strangeness of their equation begins with Mihir' implicit and absolute almost worship of Raman, I get respecting your mentor, considering the counsel of someone whom you look up to as an elder brother and also a guru of sorts. I dont get the quiet servitude like manner Mihir adopts when Raman comes into the equation, nor did it make sense to me until recently why time and again Raman says he is responsible for Mihir and all the major decisions of his life are entrusted to him.

But today' scene where Mihir was at loggerheads with Shagun sorta sparked this whole idea. What if Raman is not just mentor, friend and an elder-brother like figure to Mihir? What if Mihir was actually Shagun' younger brother who found in Raman someone he looked up to? He was pissed off at Shagun the moment she asked him to introduce her to Trisha and held his ground.

Shagun in my opinion wouldn't take an interest in Mihir - who he dates, marries or is with unless he happened to be someone she was connected too.

Mihir' words - Kyun rishta kya hai hamara? - they imply some relationship which they do share definitely.

You dont utter words like those and have that kind of an anger towards the ex-wife of your mentor even if she cheated on him, nor do you make barbed comments about loyalty/fidelity.

Also Mihir said - for Shagun money is more important than relationships. She left Raman after all because Ashok was richer and could provide for her every desired luxury.

I may be way off course here but somehow this makes me think that perhaps - this connects so many dots here.

Mihir' status as an orphan.

No family member ever shown from Shagun' side. Every time if she is spotted with someone other than the members of the immediate cast - its another friend, a fellow bitchy socialite - but never ever one member from her family.

When a marriage crumbles, of course it hurts people from both ends - and I find it hard to believe when Shagun chose to ruin her life - her family dint try to intervene, knock some sense into her, stop her.

Perhaps Shagun' breaking off all ties with Raman had more casualties than Raman, their kids and his family - she also ended up messing with the lives of her own kin in the process of which Mihir seems to be the last one left.

In the beginning of YHM articles did say Shagun and Mihir were siblings. Mihir is Raman's bro-in-law and that's why the undisputed loyalty comes from. Like you said, Shagun has buried her own kin making Mihir choose his side.

Thanks so much I didnt know there were articles about this. I started with the show around IshRa' marriage so the BG is hazy to me 😳

Ah now if only the Iyers and Ishita learn this soon

It was mentioned when the actor portraying Mihir was replaced after the first episode. Cezanne Khan was supposed to portray Raman's character but change in actors had called for change in Mihir's too. And the article mentioned the relation of Mihir and Raman too. But don't be surprised if CVs decide to change the relation 😆

I don't think the relation is going to be known to the Iyers until the Mihir-Mihika-Trisha issue escalates. Or Shagun begins to use Mihir to pull IsRa apart.

Good Post Aani.
Well that CD thing came out of the blue today.. From the commotion about it, it is reasonably likely that it is the MMS CD with MIhir on it and now it is in Shagun's hands. Then the Mihir-Shagun coversation happens with the hints as you suggest, and right in the middle of Raman supposedly inisiting on Mihir marrying Trisha and Ishita being upset about it.
Close connection between Shagun-Mihir? Coincidence? I think not
Edit - Corollary: Ok I just read another post where someone noticed the CD had Raman/Ishita's picture so it could be a wedding CD - If this is true there is a chance the CD went into Shaguns to make her more jealous.

Yup it's IsRa wedding CD that causes her to dream (sequence shown in precap). If you watch closely the CD cover as Shagun throws on her bed has IsRa picture on it.

Well written!!!
I loved this scene between Mihir and Shagun... the angry intense looks by Mihir and his dialogues were really good
I also had heard they are siblings... just wasn't sure if that had actually mentioned it any time in the show... I guess this track will be revealed now and it will be interesting

Haha I guess you weren't the only one who thought so after the camera zoomed into Adi's CD still there after Romi gave the CD. People are posting all over questioning and imagining about Mihir-Mihika CD track opening. Probably because of Shagun-Mihir interaction. IsRa picture was shown too quickly to realize giving way to "Ekta like" future plots 😆
