As far as Hindi TV is concerned, my expectations are at a very low standstill. There is little to nothing that wouldn't be absolutely foolish to expect. That being said, even Kekta shows have their highs and then perpetual lows until the channel is forced to end the show. YHM is at that very high right now, won't you say?
Raman's character, for one, is getting such mature and beautiful development. In tonight's episode, Karan Patel carried out a plethora of emotions. It was actually pretty brilliant to see. In an episode of hardly twenty minutes, he did such variety of scenes and each one, with such versatility and skill. 👏
Raman is not a good or a bad man. He is a damaged man. You can make that out by the number of emotions he undergoes. For one, there is the faade of stoic rudeness. Behind it, there is a father who longs for the love of his son and feels remorse because of the distance he has created between his daughter and himself. That bit with Ruhi complaining that his beard pricks and Bala with his son and the whole effect it had on the man, coming out with a light tear - it was course and real and hits where it hurts. So, Raman isn't a good man or a bad man, but a damaged one. I enjoy damage, I do. 🤔
But then he's also Punjabi, which isn't a culture, it's a freaking lifestyle, an adjective, 😆in fact. Look at how Raman and Mrs. Bhalla laugh at mistakenly intoxicating Ishita. No matter how many blows you survive in your life, man, if you are Punjabi, it's extremely hard to get rid of that Punjabi and absolutely natural edge to your nature. Priceless stuff! 😆
Lastly, the way Raman stood up for Ishita was all too good but I wouldn't elaborate on it much because I am quite sure there'd be independent posts on that scene. Here, I am only just going to note how realistic his defense was, even if theatrical. We may not have the strongest interpersonal relationships or even consider our relationships genuine ones, but Indians have a massive thing for family over which they have no control. Ishita is Raman's family now and he doesn't love her, no but he wouldn't let just anybody come and bark at her. Very realistic! 😳
While this lasts, I am enjoying the show, with all this awesomeness! The writers and directors and the actor involved have made Raman into someone so much more likable, relative and brilliant than before. Amazing development and so good to see, I say. And let's just say before I go, not only Raman but everybody was a riot in tonight's episode. One of my favorites thus far! 😃
