I come from a family where no one drinks and maybe that's why I don't get what makes an educated person like Raman drink himself to this state ... I know he is in pain .. But drinking like this makes no sense.

umm. okay you dont drink. neither do i. but what has educated or uneducated got to do with drinking?! 😕 Like my friends in uni drink... and smoke... does that make them any less educated? Hell theyre not even in pain or stressed. Its about what you like or are habitual of... Why're you bringing education into it?! :P
Like we all know its harmful for health, but then many other things are too... like mobile phones... do we stop using them? do we stop eating junk food? no, yeah? so yeah...
i think yes, his over drinking and stuff can be pointed out, but for matters different, and not fracting the point that Hes educated so why does he drink? 😕 i mean that point alone doesnt make sense... atleast to me.
Lawyers and Doctors drink too, doesnt make them any less educated now, does it? :P

If the person is educated he/she should have at least some sense that what is the limit of drinking.
As far as smoking in any amount is hazardous for health.
So I am just wondering why any sensible intelligent person will get drunk every evening .
And on the top of that without any hangover?

TV shows should not glamorize drinking and smoking!

😆 Oh honey, education has nothing to do with the amount of alcohol you consume. I go to a reputed university, and there have been several occasions on which, my friends and I have gone out to a bar and gotten completely wasted. Some people can't handle alcohol well but it doesn't stop them from drinking unfortunately, that is a will-power issue not literacy. Shows over here show alcohol consumption like a natural thing. The more you taboo something in the media, the more its occurrence will increase...just take it on face value.

The question isn't about being educated. I think Raman should control his drinking yes, because he does it as a way to control his sorrows and even gets aggressive when he does. However, that doesn't mean that I think everyone should stop drinking. I'm okay with drinking and with those who drink as long as they're not doing it to the point of killing themselves. If it's all good fun and you're doing it once in a while, what's wrong with it? I've done it, a lot of people have. We're all educated.

Whoa!!! Those are quite some angry responses. Where I come from only the maids complained about their husbands drinking themselves senseless every evening. I have not seen anyone in my social circle in the US drink like this either. So you see my frame of reference is skewed.
Anyway now I know better .. I guess I can say that now I have been educated on this topic :-)
