I dunno...as much as I don't like it, I think it makes sense.

As another poster pointed out, Mrs. Bhalla has everything for Ruhi since Shagun left. Ruhi is not only her granddaughter, but also like a third daughter to her. And of course with Ishita, the relationship between the two (Toshi and Ruhi) is going to change. It takes time for relationships to develop and for people to feel comfortable.

Over time I'm pretty sure that Mrs. Bhalla will overcome her insecurities/ possessiveness in the relationship between her and Ruhi and begin to appreciate Ruhi.

Don't think she will turn into typical saas... After 6 years of looking after Ruhi, now suddenly Ruhi's affections have turned towards Ishita. Toshiji is bound to feel sad and jealous of Ishita... But I am sure it will be temporary...it's just her initial reaction.

She won't turn negative, but won't like Ishita a lot. And, I guess, she is right from her perspective. She raised Ruhi, and Ruhi is choosing Ishu over her. That will hurt anyone. May be the case if different for Ruhi as she is getting motherly love only now. Still, Toshi jee can feel bad that Ruhi isn't valuing her like before.
