Shagun doesn't want Ruhi but is playing along with Ashok as she's a mere puppet in his hands.She wanted 2 get Ruhi's custody just b'coz Ashok wants to and all she cares abt is her future and even planning 2 throw Roohi in a hostel once she wins the custody.In short Roohi is a key 2 her future with Ashok as he has promised 2 marry her once she wins Ruhi's custody.All Shagun cares abt is her future with Ashok and rest all is nothing 4 her.

Ashok wants to ruin raman's life, so by getting Ruhi he wants to hurt Raman, n Shaun is just a puppet used by Ashok to do all this!

Does Ashok really think that Raman would not be the businessman of the year, if he separates him from Ruhi? If anything, it would make Raman more focused on his work. A better option for him would have been to find ways to force Raman to spend time w/ Ruhi, thereby distracting him from work.

And in real life, businessmen do their work to successfully launch products/services, maximize revenue/market share/profits and so on. They rarely do it for awards - the last happen to be icing on the cake, since they have no idea nor control of how such awards are given out.
