A faint smile lined Ruhi's innocent face and Ishika knew she was awake. But just like her dad...she preferred to feign sleep long after it left their eyes. Maybe they both lived better in the world of dreams. Ishika frowned as this thought crossed her mind...the last three months had to be the best days...pure bliss. She looked around Raman's flat...an exact replica in design but opposite in designing taste of her own flat next door. Yet Ruhi's room reflected the sense of Raman and the sensibilities of Ishika. The light pink window draping she had chosen filled the room with a misty glow. How she had argued with Raman... "Pink curtain?? What purpose will it solve Miss Dentist?? Or do you plan to plant yourself between the sunlight and my ruhi's face??" Raman had hollered on her in the mall. He was always a bit uncouth thought Ishita as she folded up the blankets. "I will plant myself between anything & anybody that hurts my Ruhi...& sunlight is not laser beam Mr. Bhalla. It gives Vitamin... " She had gone on for another few minutes but Raman had surrendered even before. Ishita's concern for Ruhi could not be questioned. He had long accepted that she had given more to his daughter than him. The guilt of hardly being unlike Shagun in the ignorance of their daughter in their life...tortured him all through these three months.

But Raman had made amends...and as if on agreement Ishita shook her head...& she would vouch for it...in front of the whole world...in front of every court of law...in front of anyone who would listen. "But who will listen to me?" Ishita exclaimed aloud and plopped herself on the bed completely forgetting that Ruhi was feigning sleep. But before ruhi could wake and soothe her... "I will" Ishita turned to find Raman standing with a tray and immediately turned a shade crimson. This was a new irritating habit she had developed of late. Not that she didn't have an inkling of it before...with all this playing mom to Ruhi...this was inevitable. But she had trusted her general disgust for Raman to shield her...which had been now crumbling for some time...
