 "Yeah??", he replied looking all blurry. Abha was a little devastated. Her best friend did not recognize her. After a few moments, Karan gave that look to Abha. "I was just pulling your leg, Tasveer Ji (for some reason best known to Karan, he always calls Abha as Tasveer Ji. He says its his favorite name)! Of course I recognized you! :) " "Awww.. You almost made me wanna cry! Meano!" said Abha. A lot of talking. Abha was suppose to be attending her college event. But somehow, she managed to convince her lecturer that she was feeling sick. Well, what can I say. Was she to miss out catching up with her bestie or attend some boring college lecture? "Abha, I cant believe you're gonna be skipping your lecture just to meet me.. I want you to attend it. I can never be more important than your future. Dont skip it." "Karannn, I don't wanna go.. It's soo boring you know.." " I know it is. But just for my sake? Go for it.. Alrite, no more arguments!" "Okayyy..." What Karan wasn't aware of was that, Abha liked him so much, she would rather have her future get destroyed than missing the chance to spend some time with him. After the talk, Abha & Karan met in the hotel's cafe. They spent the whole night talking. Soo many stories yet so little time. "Karan, I'll be off tomorrow by 12 something. You'll come and visit me for the last tyme?" " I'll try to make it, San. I need to collect my assignments from my college." " Alarrr.." " Abhhh! Joking! I'll never miss my last opportunity to disturb you, nerd! :P " "Karan, you know. You get on my nerves very often. Meano! :) " The best friends moments. It is really priceless even when one of them doesn't care anymore. Memories. Abha was basically the happiest person that night. Whenever Karan looked elsewhere, she secretly gazed into his eyes. The guy that was never meant to be hers in a million years to come. At about 5.45 am, they called it quits. That night was a sleepless night for Abha. She had deep thoughts bout Karan. What was she to do? Can she forever hold back her love for him? The question that kept playing constantly in her mind. She reminded herself every moment, "Best friend. That's it!" The next morning, Abha rose and shone! She was excited to meet Karan for the last time before they went on their respective lives, only to meet each other in the virtual world. And she wondered if he'll make it in tyme... 10am...10.30am.. 11am.. Abha was to leave at 12.30 and Karan was no where to be seen. She texted him, called him thrice. No reply. Abha was getting really worried. Was it possible that something bad has happened to him? She has no clue what was coming her way. Time went by fast. Her Morgan watched indicated 12.10 noon. "Students, start keeping your luggage into the bus. We're leaving soon. Make sure nothing is missing!" Her heart was thumping soo loud it almost failed. She rang Karan again.. *kring kring* Still no reply.. Everyone started to board the bus 10 minutes before departure. Busy doing final preparation to leave. Chaos all around.. But Abha couldn't stop worrying each minute. "ABHA!" Heads turned. "Karan, WHAT HAPPENED? Why didn't you answer my calls? Are you alright? I sent you soo many texts! You okay??" "Abha Abha Abha.. Relaxxx.. Breathe in and out! My phone got all wet in the rain.. I am soo sorry for being late... I..I.." Karan looked really weird. And Abha got a little suspicious wondering what was playing in his head. "Karan, what's wrong? Tell me.. I cant see you like that!" "Abha..I.. Ermm.. Nothing is wrong! Hop on that bus. Everyone is waiting for you! :) " Abha knew something was wrong somewhere. He wasn't telling her the truth. "Are you sure? Cause seriously I know something is wrong and you're not telling me!" "Abha, trust me.. I am A-okay! kk.. Bye bye.. Take care nerd! "Karan, I trust you. And so, I'm boarding the bus.. Okay.. Bye bye.. Take care.. And dont call me nerd! Mean guy! :P " Everyone was all set to leave.. Karan and Abha waved their final goodbyes.. Before leaving, Karan gave Abha his other number. And so, Abha grabbed her phone & she texted him, "It was really nice to meet u! Take care okay.. :) " Karan replied, "Same here too Tasveer Ji! Take care.." Abha.. She is an understanding girl. Eventhough she believed Karan, she knew he wasn't telling her the absolute truth. So, she sent him an message back home. She wouldn't ask him again cause he'll probably get angry. Her message was more like a spam. She blabbered non-stop. Something bothered Karan. Abha wouldn't want him going all sad cause of it. A few days later, she sent him another message. Acted all weird. Sending some jokes. I guess all she wanted to do was cheer him up? 3 days passed.. 30th of January.. Abha checked her phone again. And this time, the message was sent while Abha was away. She read, "What the... Abha, why do you keep bothering me? Leave me all by myself. I am not bothered about you. And frankly speaking, I dont care!" Tears rolled. She was all confused. What made him say that? Millions of questions played in her mind. The friend that used to tell her even the tiniest bit was now acting like a complete stranger.. Abha broke down. But she listened to him silently. She left him all alone for a while. After some days, she decided to messaged him again. She talked to him normally but his replies were all short. Abha took it all. Talking to him meant alot to her. Even just by his yes, no, ok. But one thing kept her worried.. "Why wouldn't he tell me???" After an exact amount of 10 days, she called Karan. "Hello..", a pale manly voice known & believed to be Karan's.. to be continued... |
