I simply love the Jagmohan charachter..........He overshadows Alok Nath........

Personally, I feel the guy who plays Radhika's father in Choti Bahu would have been better than Alok Nath.........
In this serial, somehow.......Alok Nath's charachter comes accross as very weak and badly molded......

I do think Alok Nath is more physically realistic: fat, proud, privileged, angry old Indian man. Radhika's father just does not have that look.

But somehow, Alok Nath does not exude the royalty and rayisi........that Radhika's father can....... I think we have seen him playing such a charachter in Rajshri's movies.......
While Alok Nath seems to be fit physically for the part.........the charachter comes across as weak and foolish and not so nice.........the thakur does not evoke any nice feelings........
However, Jagmohan comes accross as what they want portrayed.........rich......ambitious...... conniving.......yet........a nice man when they want (like when he gave Abha money in the beginning)....

Jagmohan has a strong character as well no doubt.

I think aloknath fits the role of ghamandi thakur. He is good at portraying the "aan baan shaan" concept of thakurs. After burning jagmohan's car and going to mental hospital he has again proved the "jaan jaaye par shaan naa jaaye " theory of thakurs.
I think we are finding jagmohan's character stronger than thakur's becoz abha is dealing with him on daily basis. But we havn't seen ruthless behavior of thakur...to wat extent he can go/do....

Rite now jagmohan is stronger becoz he has power and money which thakur doesn't have......

I m sure thakur's days will change after his book gets published. We'll surely see his rude and ruthless behaviour towards Karan sometime down the lane.Woh Abha aur apni family ke saath ki hui badsalooki ka hisaab gin gin kar lega.

I like the acting of Aloknath and he is pretty good at handling such roles.I am pretty sure Aloknath will do justice to this role.

Well, there is the aspect of being foolish......proud....etc.....and losing money......
But, here the Thakur is actually a stupid man......examples:
- He married off Lata to Samarjit, who is not a good guy
- He wanted Abha to get married to ANYBODY
- He did not even bother to give his children an education, while he was himself a propogator of education and the arts
- He went to stupid lengths with his own family
The point is, that the above charachter has been scripted. However, it it upto the person playing the part - that the nuances and strength emerges.
Alok Nath is NOT in my opinion doing such a great job, since the charachter is not getting any strength from him.
Jagmohan's charachter on the other hand is strong, because the guy playing it is lending it his own personal shades.
Its like - how evil the villian is - depends on how well the actor acts. Same for comedians.
Lets take Abha and Lata. People will like Abha more, because she is a better actor. CP is playing her part superbly. So is the Daadi.
But Alok Nath is himself lacking strength in this role......

i love them both...and no one could do justice to the characters the way the current actors are doing...the dialouges between thakur and jagmohan are fun to watch...esp. when thakur gets angry and jagmohan manages to smile...i love their chemistry...

i loved the dialogues of aloknath before he goes to mental asylum..."abhi toh humne sirf jagmohan ki gaadi jalaayi hai...woh din dur nahin jab hum jagmohan ko hi jalaa denge...blah blah blah...LOLZ!!!

His family's face was like...arre pitaaji ko kya ho gayaa..kya sach much sanak toh nahin gayye

that scene was too funny.
