i feel like Karan's father must have wanted Abha to marry someone else... maybe a servant or someone of "low-status." Karan, then, must have married Abha so she wouldn't get tortured.. and of course, he loves her after all.

Yeah I agree. Jags mus have planned Abha's marraige with a driver or a servant which karan would have gotten to know.
Though he feels chated he still loves Abha . Hence, he will marry Abha.
