Therefore, we've decided we won't make you all wait. After all, if stories are bursting forth to be told, we would hate to be the stumbling block holding back your creativity.

So go on and create and post your respective fichains.. just make sure to label them Fichain #1, #2 or #3 depending on which one you've signed up for.

Going forward, we will allow 3 fichains to launch simultaneously. I'll make that change in the rules.

So the next set of people who sign-up can wait for about a month to start Fichain#4, #5 and #6.

Kya...itni stories mein main to confusiya jaongi🤪🤣

Is there any particular word limit for each segment?

Here is the answer Simi-- https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/writers-corner-books-stories-and-poems/5330219/fichain-a-team-writing-initiative-faqs-updated

The creator will start off a story with about 500–1000 words.

Contributors need to write about 100–500 words to continue the story.

So more than 500 words will be considered as invalid? I was actually wondering whether this is the minimum word limit or not.

Simi, it is better to wrap the next segment within 500 words to give scope to other writers to develop further.

There is no word like invalid in this 'Team Writing'😊 Only adjusting and carrying forward the storyline. That is why, we put this word limit.

See the purpose of having the word limit was two-fold

a) To not burden the writer too much and have them feeling overwhelmed, to encourage them to write even if a little

b) To not have one person ‘directing’ the whole story and therefore defeating the purpose of collaboration

That being said, the word limit is just a guideline. This is not a contest and we’re not even checking if your segments (either the creator or contributor) stays within the prescribed word limit.

The lower limit is more important here so you don’t write just 1-2 lines. You need to advance the plot significantly and leave it open-ended for the next person to take up.

So I would say, yes, it can exceed the word limit but not so much that you’re writing pages and pages, if that makes sense?

Thanks Sup Di for explaining it so well. Understood.
