Yup Ajay her character in Padayappa( Tamil name) was one hell of a performance. But in that she was bad and mad, as usual the meek heroine is the good one.
But Shivgami irrsepctive of the mistakes he committes, irrespective of the power and authority she carries is a woman to reckon with, so is Devasena. Both these woman are not meek. They have strength and the movie doesnt make them bad.

Yes Shruthi di, DS had a tough life, she paid a high price for her ego.
I too agree with Ajay, I liked Devsena more in the movie. Her character was Charismatic n Anushka was too good. But after reading your review I feel shivgami was the centre.

Btw a TV show is being made on shivgami by BB makers. That'll be a treat to watch :)

It's aarambh naa...But the heroine is named as Devasena..and it's said mainly about clash of Dravidians & Aryans...Heroine from Dravidians nd hero from Aryans will fall in love in the course of war nd hw they unite is the base point as far as I heard...let's see!!

Beautiful and spectacular analysis Shruthi ji

I haven't seen it yet but your review is very good.
It's made me more excited to watch and
I am sure when I will watch it I will enjoy and understand more about characters.
Your details about each and everything is just phenomenal
Thanks a lot.

@aditi Devasena was a medium who bought out the issues in that family. Her character sketch was good and Anuskha is a fanastic actor. I dont know whether you have seen her Arundhathi. If not please watch.
Devasena's critical mistake was the second instance where she asks Amarendra to be the king while he is ripped of being army chieftan as first and third instance I dont think she could have acted otherwise. She is not mahanta ki moorat who will sacrifice and accept Bhalla Deva as her husband. Nor you can expect her to cow down when she is bought chained for punishing a man who was touching women inappropriately. But second instance she could have controlled her tongue. That second instance connects to 3rd and the free fall begins.

@Sanju Satyavati was a woman who wanted her sons to be the king. She orders Bhishma to bring princesses for the useless Vichitravirya who cant get a wife of his own. Here Shivgami doesnt have any ambition of seeing her son on the throne, she is happy to put bahubali. Second she asks bahubali to bring devasena only after she insults the proposal. She doesnt have the hunger of power like Satyavati, it is more Kaikeyi a woman of situations.

@Sandhya thanks dear. Yes Ramya Krishna it was performance of a life time.

Superb Shruthi di. I ve watched the flim as a mass movie and cried when kattappa killed Bahubali and mesmerised with Ramya krishnan voice and performance..had a little bit let down in tactics of Mahendra Bahubali performance. But u made me see the flim in a different perspective...loved it...
While I was reading Ur analysis, can imagine the characters as u explain in MB,last line about Love wins jux the apt conclusion.I jux recollected all the scenes from the movie through ur words...how nicely u ve convulsed.
When men being sun and women being earth Ur theory in last thilak scene.1st time I ever read flim in epic perspective. Thanks for that.

Missing Ur epics analysis in beyhadh, waiting for those days to return there. Arjun and Maya in MB..

Thanks Sunithi. Yes it was a mass movie. But then you have to give it to Rajamouli the director for taking it with the right message. See movies with good messages need not be documentaries or award winning types, they can be entertaining also.

No not aarambh, it's just borrowing DS's name, otherwise it's totally different.
One Bahubali prequel will be made on TV from the Bahubali makers. Rise of shivgami or something like that. It'll release in 2018 ... But again not sure ...
