Right, Cumber, Watson all serious (thinking inside his head that he has finally managed to put Sherlock's methods and has deduced the "elementary" conclusion) 🤣

And Sherlock... ... ...my heart goes mmm...

Maybe I should just make some more😳😳😳

March 31, end of another financial year and tomorrow is the start of a new one.

Which got me thinking, April 1 is also known as All Fools' Day and it is also the start of the financial year for most Indian companies, is that why accounts / financial statements / accountant and auditors are such a joke???

Even I think about this, 😛and I interpret it like this
1 April could be all about window -dressing , fake debtors, fraud triangles or bribing your Auditors 😛
making perpetual fool out of the stakeholders 😆.

"I want to be a good writer"

And today, after a long, exhausting and depressing week (tired out both physically and mentally) I had my own epiphany: As long as I write - put pen to paper, fingers to keyboard and churn out the letters, transforming them to words, words which lend themselves to sentences, sentences that turn into paragraphs and paragraphs that craft themselves into stories or essays or a series of ramblings - I am a writer.

It is the qualifier that gives the pain and joy. For how does one be a "good" writer? Is it judged by personal perception or measured by public praise?

Personal perception is definitely subjective and partly biased, coloured by our own preferences and experiences, our likes and dislikes, by the books we read and the stories we hear. It is completely influenced by everything we know (which is not much) and devoid of all the things we are ignorant of (after all, our knowledge is limited only by our ignorance). So when I read and judge my writings, it would be in the light of the books I read, the experiences I carry and the opinions I have formed. I could be a very avid reader and a discerning critic but how accurate would my judgement of my writing be?

Public praise could be objective, but then what is the definition of public? How do I define who my core audience is and whether I am able to reach out to them? Especially when I indulge in Fan fiction, is the readership based on the love for the lead couple or is it the story that captivates them? How do I know? How does anyone know? A part of me feels that the story is read only because of the couple, borne out by the fact that the readership is directly proportionate to the viewership. A part of me feels that this is an oversimplification and is a reflection of the "sour grapes" theory.

I am thrilled when I get a lot of likes and comments for some tales and am bewildered when a few of mine do not even garner the basic views, this is all the more bewildering when the stories I personally feel are better drafted and well written are the ones which are read by lesser people.

Maybe, I no longer connect because what I think is story telling is not the expectation of the reader audience I have chosen. Maybe, I have simply lost the pulse of my readers. Maybe...

I am not sure any longer and for now I have two choices, to stop writing or to simply be a writer without the qualifier. I will continue to write and post my stories, I will stop expecting them to be read, liked and /or commented.

But that brings me back to another question - if no one reads what you write how can you be a writer in the first place, forget about being good or bad. For without a reader, are you truly a writer or just a rambler?

I do not know.

Nynu 🤗
A very well put up one ..I will put across my views .

I absolutely feel writing should be judged by personal perception , There's no denying that public praise is definitely a booster but that shouldn't let you decide what your writing is worth off and like u mentioned perceptions .. Readers ..Huge base of them has different perceptions and What tugs whom or which aspect gets to them is always gonna be a question mark .It depends on personal preference which we don't have control over.

Love for lead couple ..that's what even leads us to write na in case of Swasan😳 and I totally get about the response being different from expectations for any particular chapter which we feel we have done very good job and vice versa

All I Feel is there is no specific measurement of ingredient which makes story a hit and would measure our writing .It comes down to particular individual and reader base.

When it comes to myself ..I am not a writer at all because I am absolutely aware of my short comings and I know my work needs lot of refining and there's a long way to go to even call my self a writer ..again my perception , You know which others may differ or agree

Might add few more points later😊

Love
Lucky

PS; I told you many number of times..I wish I could write like you b'cos you are one of those few writers who push me to get better and I mean it when I say it ❤️

And the last question of being a writer or rambler , Again it comes down to whom do you write for ..For yourself or for someone to read
Wiki Defintiion

A writer is a person who uses written words in various styles and techniques to communicate their ideas.

There are times when you write something and keep it to yourself and will not feel like sharing. What does that make us 😉 a rambler ? or a writer because self communication is also a kind of communication😛

Lucky,🤗

I might have told this before, but I could tell you a thousand times more, you are a true bangaram and a real sweetheart. I am not sure how you knew what to say but reading your words gave me just the boost I needed. And it is indeed very liberating and it was with quite a calm and free mind that I wrote the updates for FM over the past two days. (managed more than 2000 words, have an idea bouncing in my head, make it two😃)

I would love to say thank you, but then it is quite inadequate to express what your words have done, so I will simply repeat - you are a true bangaram and I am blessed to have you as a friend.

love you loads
Nyna
