Can love blossom a second time?

DORMANT

Love, hopes and dreams,

withered on the vine;

bitter tears choked their roots.

Your laughter was a cloudburst

raining upon my desert heart,

leeching away the poison of memories.

Your smiles nurtured dormant life

till hope took root again.

Your magnanimity

weeded out my negativity;

while your touch coaxed hope

to push into the light again.

Your inspiring words

made a soul grow anew

to bring forth love's blossom.

Very interesting questiom - what do you think? I can say I don't know but I was born and brought up with thoughts of one and only one love. So I think that is stuck in my mind.

By the way it is a very cute and powerful poem.

Thanks for the feedback. If human experiences is anything to go by (including my own), love can blossom a second time, and also a third time! If you think only in terms of one person on the planet being compatible enough for you to 'fall in love' then you've narrowed your vision too much. Besides human experiences suggest that love is sometimes not enough to hold two people together. Love is only the foundations of the building, but the rest is built upon that foundation.
