Part 2 ~ The Shopping Mishap"Chotu! Chotu!" Rishi kept calling in his sleep. "Chotu, where are my eggs?! I want them sunny side up today! Chotu! Chotu!" And that was when Rishi fell off the bed with a thud. He got up and said, "I forgot. I'm not living in my mansion anymore."
Rishi then turned around to the bed, seeing Milli was not there. Where did M&M go? Rishi asked himself.
Rishi then headed off to the bathroom where he freshened up by brushing his teeth and washing his face. After doing so, he left the bathroom and headed down the hall towards the kitchen. There, Milli was cooking eggs on the frying pan. And Rishi looked on surprise. "Sunny side up I see!" Rishi exclaimed as he walked over to Milli, getting right near her. "Not bad, Mrs. Singhania!"
"Shut up! Don't think I'm making these for you!"
"Then what am I supposed to eat?!"
"I don't know! There are fruits in the fridge!"
"Where'd you get all the food from?"
"I went grocery shopping early in the morning while you were sound asleep as a rock."
"Come on! Can I have some eggs, please?!"
"No!"
"Please, wifey dear!"
"Oh shut up! Quit the whole hubby act!"
"Aww! You called me hubby!"
"Forget it. You're not having my eggs."
Rishi then began to whimper. He grabbed hold of Milli's hands tightly and said with a puppy dog face, "Please."
Milli rolled her eyes. "I'll just have an apple." Milli said.
"Thank you, M&M!" Rishi exclaimed as he went over to get a plate from the storage cabinet.
Amazing, Milli thought to herself. He's older than me by five years and yet I act like the mature one in this case.
As Rishi was eating his eggs in the dining room, Milli was in the bedroom and had just finished taking a shower. After which, she changed into a blue salwar kameez. As she was about to leave, she saw Rishi's phone ring on the nightstand. She picked it up, seeing it was Randeer calling. "Hello," Milli answered. "Hi, Mr. Singhania. Sorry...I mean papa. Yeah, Rishi is here. I'll give it to him."
Milli then walked into the dining room where Rishi was eating and handed him his phone. "Its papa." Milli said.
"Hey Dad!" Rishi exclaimed.
"Hey, son," Randeer replied as he had breakfast in the dining hall of his mansion. "How are you and Milli doing?"
"Great, dad." Rishi answered.
"How was your first night with her?" Randeer asked.
"Dad!" Rishi exclaimed as his face turned red.
"All right, all right! We'll discuss that later!" Randeer said as he took a bite from an apple. "I have something to tell you. Actually, tomorrow night I'm having a party here at the mansion."
"Party? For what?" Rishi asked.
"For you and Milli!" Randeer replied.
"WHAT?!" Rishi shouted.
"Yes!" Randeer exclaimed. "You both just got married. I have to have something for you to celebrate. That's why I called some of the family, some close friends and some of collegues. The party is tomorrow evening at seven. So don't be late. Okay? Bye, son."
"Bye." Rishi said as he then hung up the phone.
"What did he say?" Milli asked Rishi, seeing his distraught looking face.
"Well...you see...Dad's having a party tomorrow for us at the mansion."
"WHAT?!"
"It was a sudden plan! I didn't know he'd host a party all of a sudden!"
"You've got to be kidding me?! My own parents don't even know I got married to some random guy! Now the entire clan of the Singhanias has to know?!"
"You mean you didn't tell your mom and dad?"
"Oh sure! Let me just call my mom and dad up and say 'Hey mom! Hey dad! Guess what?! Some random guy I met yesterday married me right on the spot! And he happens to be the son of one of the richest guys in the city! Oh and did I mention he's jobless?!' Now won't they be proud of their new son-in-law?!"
"Oh now you're mocking me again!"
"Listen, I don't want anymore trouble than what I'm already in. No way am I going to this party!"
"Come on, M&M! This is a matter of my dignity!"
"A guy who stands shirtless before a woman he met for a few hours seems to have no dignity to me!"
"Hey! I'm your husband now! Besides...you know you couldn't resist looking at me."
"Shut up!"
"The point is...its just a small party for my dad's family and some of my friends! No big deal! So its not like your parents are going to find out!"
"You sure on that?"
"Of course! Its obviously going to be a private party. So no tension!"
"Fine. I'll go then."
"Great! Now all we have to do is find you something to wear tomorrow!"
"Can't I just wear a salwar?"
"You mean like this?! No way! You're Randeer Singhania's daughter-in-law now! So you have to dress classy!"
"Well I'm from a middle class family. I don't have anything glamorous to wear."
"That's why we'll go shopping today! Dad gave me back my credit card! So no problem!"
"You're going to take me out for shopping?"
"Yes! Now wait here and I'll go change!"
While Rishi left for the bedroom, Milli stood in the dining room, mind boggled. Yesterday, I married a complete stranger and am now staying in the same flat with this stranger, Milli thought to herself. And now today that same stranger is taking me out for dress shopping. Unbelievable!
And so, after half an hour, Rishi and Milli arrived at the nearest mall in Rishi's red ferrari. Yes, a red ferrari. When your father is a rich man, you do get some benefits. Rishi and Milli got out of the car after he parked and headed inside the mall. As they were walking passed the many stores, they headed into Zara. Rishi and Milli walked around, looking at the various dresses they had. Milli was keeping her eyes mainly on the sarees while Rishi was looking at the dresses. "You seem to be more interested in the sarees." Rishi told Milli as he walked over, seeing Milli holding a blue saree in her hand.
"Yeah. Is that a problem?"
"Ever thought of wearing a dress for a change?"
"I'm not one of those supermodels that you've dated in the past!"
"Okay, okay! Touchy. Anyways, you keep looking over here. I'm gonna go look at the dresses."
What a moron, Milli thought to herself as Rishi left. Does he really think I'll wear such dresses?!
As Milli kept looking at the sarees, she then glanced over and something caught her eye. One of the manicans right nearby was wearing a strapless short red dress with sparkles all over it. Now it wasn't a very short dress. It was just above the knees, yet it looked quite intriguing to Milli's eyes. Wow. I've seen Bollywood actresses wear such dresses, Milli thought to herself. I mean...I wouldn't wear something like this. But its in red! My favorite color! And it kinda looks nice. Let's see. He seems to be occupied. Maybe if I try it on real quick without him noticing, it wouldn't hurt. Yeah. Just one try, Milli. But do it quick before he sees me!
Milli quickly grabbed the dress from the rack beside the manican. She then headed to the nearest dressing room and got inside. As she closed the door, she immediately got hold of the dress and changed into it. As she put it on, she struggled to pull the zipper up in the back, but she immediately got it up. Milli then looked in the mirror, looking at herself as she stood in the dress.
Wow, Milli thought to herself. I never thought the day would come where I'd see myself in a dress like this. Its really pretty! I wonder how much this is!
Milli then noticed the price tag hanging right on the side of the dress. She then looked at it and gasped, Rs. 5 lakhs! Rs. 5 lakhs for a dress?! What is it made of that they make it so expensive?! Rubies?!
As Rishi was looking around in the dress section, he then turned for a moment with a shocked look on his face. He looked ahead as he saw a tall, hour glass shaped girl standing with another girl, looking through dresses. The girl was really pretty with luscious brown hair that rested upon her shoulders and a strapless blue Valentino dress with matching blue pumps on. Oh God! Its Meera! Rishi panicked. If she sees me here, I'm dead!
Meera turned towards Rishi's direction and Rishi immediately turned away from him before she could get a proper look at his face. I need to hide! Rishi thought to himself. He then noticed the dressing room near him. I'll have to hide in the dressing room!
Rishi dashed over towards the dressing room while Meera looked on, puzzled. "What's wrong, Meera?" the girl with Meera asked.
"Nothing," Meera replied. "I just thought I saw someone who I knew."
As Rishi rushed to the dressing room, he was unaware that Milli was inside there. That too wearing the short sparkly red dress. And even Milli didn't realize that she forgot to lock the door. So when Rishi opened the door of the dressing room, both were stunned to see each other. There was Milli, who was in horror of the fact that Rishi was now seeing her wearing a dress. And then Rishi, who looked at her from head to toe in surprise as she wore that dress.
Not bad, Rishi said as his eyes beamed. She's looking hot.
"What are you doing here?!" Milli exclaimed. "This is a girl's dressing room!"
Before anyone could hear Milli, Rishi immediately got in the dressing room, locking the door. "What the hell?!" Milli shrieked. "What are you-"
Before Milli could utter another word, Rishi covered her mouth with his hand, signaling her to be quiet as he and Milli went up against the wall of the dressing room where they couldn't be seen. As Rishi had his hand covering Milli's mouth, his other arm was wrapped around her to prevent her from making any sudden moves.
"Listen," Rishi told Milli in a whispering tone. "My ex-girlfriend is outside in the store. If she sees me here, it'll be bad. And obviously you don't want her to see me with you like this. Even if we are married. Okay?"
Milli kept quiet as she was still in Rishi's grasp. Rishi then looked at Milli's face as he still had his hand on her mouth and his other arm around her body. He then removed his hand from her mouth and brushed aside a strand of her hair that was covering her ear. He then went right near her ear and whispered, "By the way...you're looking good."
Milli turned to Rishi in surprise, her cheeks blushing. He then let go of her as she continued to look at him. He tiptoed near the door of the dressing room and peaked outside, seeing no sign of Meera. "Looks like she's gone," Rishi said quietly. "I'm gonna go now. You take your time."
With that, Rishi slyly left the dressing room, leaving Milli stunned as she stood with her face now a pinkish color. What...was that? Milli asked herself.
After changing out of the dress, Milli put the dress back on the rack and picked up a red saree she found with gold embroidery. And of course, Rishi noticed her putting the dress back. At the register, Milli handed the cashier the saree to ring it up while Rishi used his credit card to pay for it. As he looked at Milli with a smirk on his face, Milli tried to look away, hiding the fact she was still blushing. Once the cashier was done, Milli grabbed the bag with her saree in it. "Can we go now?" Milli asked Rishi.
"Yeah sure," Rishi replied. "How about you go to the store next door? I think I'll get a tie for myself here."
"Okay." Milli said as she then left the store, heading towards the next store.
Once Rishi saw that Milli had left, he then went over to the dress section and picked up the same dress Milli had tried on from the rack. He then handed it to the cashier. "Ring this up for me." Rishi told the cashier.
"Is it for your wife?"
"Oh no, its for your sister! Just ring it up!"
As the cashier was ringing up the dress, Rishi stood in patience with a smile on his face. Oh, M&M, Rishi thought to himself. Whether you like it or not, this is defintely a keeper.
