The kind who make you want to swear - when they go 'and the winner is... oh... not before we take this short break!'... and all you can think of is how misinformed they are about the word 'short' 🤢 and what kind of plausible ways exist for you to land a punch across at them 😡 through the screen without perpetual damage to your priceless flat screens?!!
You know you hate them...!
Well, I do too.
So just this one time, with the onus of declaring some much awaited results on me, I really shan't be
a drag
and
a bore -
and definitely not a big mouth
(yes, you are supposed to ignore the little digression exception preceding this point)
because without further ado - let's gear up for the
(the 1.0 is between my heads and me. It's my public way of secretly letting them know I plan to do these kind of contests again.
And yes, you all are most welcome to voice your veto in my favor for the same.)
😃😃😃
So after a very enthusiastic response to the contest excerpts - I'm glee-soaked in telling you that the readers certainly lived up to the hype - have read as many as 17 entries and made the very hard choices for declaring their favorites in the various categories.
👍🏼
👏
Of course, not everyone has won a title, but the effort has been tremendous and laudable - so for each one of the writers out there who gave this contest a shot - here goes a lovely creation (courtesy of Shikhu aka starry.phoenix) to stick up your siggie backsides and show off!

Wafah for Entry # 11

khahani for Entry #17
The Sucker Punch!
(Note: This story was titled as The Eyes for the contest.
The contestant wished for me to alter the title after the entries were up for vote, but that was not fairly possible. So she requested I post the new title at least in the result thread if she won - which I thought to be fair enough. Hence the changed title from when the entries were originally posted.)
Also, here comes a surprise for all writers! So I didn't reveal this category in the main award list - cause I did think it would be best judged in a surprise fashion - going purely by the number of 'likes' your story got from the various readers. Not everyone who reads votes, and not every story one likes can always be the favorite one votes for, but that doesn't make a 'liked' story any less worthy!
So here's for the Most 'Like-d'!
ssroomani for Entry#1
The Sixth Victim
(ps: this - as well as the like numbers in the table below - is as per the count of likes up to the deadline time. any likes clicked beyond that have not been accounted for here in the results.)
In a brief concluding note, I'd like to say once again, how much the effort and creativity of all participants was appreciated by our CC team. And going by the success of this contest, I can safely say this is not the last of such 😎
The tally table for results has been posted in the response space below this main post - for all the writers to be able to see =) I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by the kind of somewhat uniformity of voting numbers - which reestablish how very close and hard the competition was, and how very competent all the entries overall.
And now, as Bugs Bunny would say,
That's All Folks...!
