Years spent thinking that when we reunite

Years spent hoping, and hope did me in
It's supposed to be a virtue, but it's worse than a sin
I thought you would love me the way I loved like hell
It wasn't just a moment, it was an infinite spell
It wasn't craziness, I didn't do it for fun
It wasn't a battle where I lost and she won
It was simply my heart rate going up like crazy
It was simply your face making everything else seem hazy
It was simply blushing like mad whenever you appeared
If love is an illness, I'm yet not cured
Can hope fall, or does it keep on rising?
It soon reaches a point where if you collapse, it's not surprising
Your passions pin you down to the point where you can only see
What I'm seeing right now, and the terror enveloping me
That stupid fear that you can never love again
Because your heart has been too destroyed by the pain.
It may sound a bit emo...😆..lol...but I'm in a poetic craze right now. I'm still an amateur....but one day I hope I can do better. 😊
